It takes a lot of patience and a keen eye to find that perfect piece. Shopping at consignment shops might not be for everyone but fashion gets recycled and it is these places where you can find some of the original style from past decades. I once dated this rock-n-roll guy and every time I commented on his cool style he always said...I found it in a thrift or consignment store. I get giddy when I find a piece that fits my sense of style. Today was one of those days...a dark denim A-Line skirt with a zipper in the front. The only one hanging and in my size!! I also tried on a pink top that caught my eye but was hesitant until the cashier, Danni, said she liked it on me when she saw me trying it on. Sold! Everything is neatly sorted by size and different types of clothing. Ex: tops, shorts, jeans, pants, jackets, shoes, athletic wear, etc. Danni told me that the owner is very particular about accepting clothes that are in great condition only. You can find a good mix of deals with some items that get a bit of side eye on the price. They also have a discounted/sale section on the lower floor. Steals and Deals! I can't rave about "Once Worn" enough. Every time I come from NY, I feel the pull of this little used clothing, vintage, treasure spot. I very rarely leave this place empty handed. I go coming in and find the thing I've been looking for. And sometimes it's an item that I thought I would not find. On my last trip, I had been wanting to replace my winter leopard jacket. And just like that I found a large jacket that still fit a layer underneath and under $40. It was a must have. On this recent trip, I was chewing my friend's ear off about consumerism and how social media has become a giant ad. The beauty of buying used clothes is your not purchasing mass production from the chains. My friend then took me here, I was like...I'll just peek. I found Chanel style leather boots with flower flare. I then snagged a long sleeve knitted top that is perfect for my "Children of the Corn" look. Yeah! I've also been wanting to find linen pants for those warm days and boom, mustard linen pants. I also have a clowncore cake confection outing coming up and I snagged a puffy sleeve polka dot top that would work perfectly. I truly found all the treasures! This place is incredibly cute! Came here with a friends (before the quarantining and shelter in place) on the first Saturday in March. The recommending friend had been on a previous visit to Philly and raved about the selection. The four of us were NOT disappointed. We all we able to find something(s) for a great price. I was able to find a new with tags giant color block handbag; I love a big handbag, the bigger the better! I then proceeded to fill said bag with jewelry lol. There were so many unique options in shape, style and color; I don't think I paid more than $3 for any piece. CUSTOMER SERVICE is key in my opinion. Even if I do not purchase an item in an establishment, I would like to be recognized. Customer service was on point from the door. I just discovered this little gem of consignment heaven while out with a girlfriend in Northern Liberties...and I think I'm in love. After going pretty much all over the city, you think an experienced thrifter/consigned like myself would have seen the best (and unfortunately the worst) in gently used clothing, but then I find this spot and I have to revise my thinking. May have to pay this spot another visit after pay day (trying to be responsible, people) PROS - very organized and neat (a MAJOR plus for consignment) everything is perfectly organized into size, from xs to xxl. Even the sale items were well organized and labeled - small boutique like feel - the staff is friendly and very helpful CONS - umm...well this is awkward...I can't really think of one...I guess trying to find a parking space in Northern Liberties would have been the only con TIPS - check the outside sale racks. They had a few super cute items that were also super cheap. - DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT omit the sale racks downstairs. Your first inclination once you enter the store is to go upstairs, and that is absolutely correct, but don't miss out on the low priced goodies downstairs either. (hello people, when you see an entire rack of your size of sale clothes, you get super stoked! I might come here too often because each time I am here I see a lot of the same stuff in the racks that I saw the previous time. That being said, I am still able to find something new that I want to buy each time that I am here. While the inventory does not rotate as much as Buffalo Exchange in center city does, I would still say that Once Worn is the best consignment shop in the city because all of the clothing they sell is clean, fairly priced, and well organized. They have a great variety of dresses, shorts, shirts, and accessories that can fit any budget. If you have not yet been here, you must visit. read more

Today was my first visit to Once Worn and I am completely in love!! I found such amazing goodies for less than $20. Very neat, clean and well organized. I had my baby girl in tow so sadly I didn't get to check out the sale racks downstairs but I'm planning on making another visit this weekend to peruse through all the lovely items this store has to offer! I have never consigned here but it definitely beats trekking down to center city to get ripped off by Buffalo Exchange.. looking forward to trying out this aspect of the store as well! Love this store! I went during the Shopping Spree event on a Saturday afternoon. The pretty small space is filled with clothes, and bags, and shoes. I scored a vintage brown leather jacket for $30 with the shopping spree discount. There were a lot of great options and I would definitely go back to scope out everything. I took some stuff down there today. The process is so easy and Jen will take most things. She let me know what is selling and what is not and I opted to donated my stuff after 60 days (or you can pick it up). She has a good selection of reasonably priced items and also a designer selection. There is the cutest pair of vintage shoes (says size 7.5) but thats like todays size 5 so if you have really small feet you should go there and get these hot wedges! She has dressing rooms in the back and even carries mens wear. Also a sale rack out front. I'll definitely be back to shop for some things, but today I was just dropping stuff off. You can really find excellent pieces here for cheap. You have to do some searching but not too much. The owner is very friendly and lets dogs in to the store which is appreciated! There's also a frequent buyer card so after a certain number of purchases, you get 20 bucks off. Some of my favorite dresses are from this store. read more

I love this shop even more today.! My last two visits to Once Worn were very productive in expanding my summer wardrobe, with 2-3 compete summer outfits each visit for under $70.00 each time. The store's popularity is growing fast and the quality, quantity and variety of cosigners, sizes and styles has resulted. If you live in the neighborhood or surrounding areas, the location is convenient. But it is very accessible by public transportation, too. An avid thrifter, I found this place through Yelp and I'm so happy I decided to take a small trip to Northern Liberties to check it out! The prices here are extremely reasonable, and are sorted very helpfully. My purchase highlights were a Gap dress with the label still on for $9 and a pair of gently worn Aldo oxfords for $15. The owner (?)/lady at the counter was super friendly and seemed to suggest that there were times of the year (including when I visited in early May) when stock kept rotating frequently, so she invited me to come back in a few days. The week before I went to Once Worn, I went to Buffalo Exchange. The difference in price is just remarkable and I think I'll stick to Once Worn. read more

This place is awesome! I always find one or two pieces that are great. The new location (two doors down from the old location) offers a lot more floor space. Tons of pants, shoes, cute jewelry, tops, dresses, and more. There are also $1 bins and sale clothes downstairs near the shoe racks. They take LevelUp, I used mine and saved $2 on my first purchase. Hey, I don't really have anything bad to say about this place! It's clean, well organized, offers a great selection of styles and brands at very affordable prices. The handbag selection passed my test with a C+ rating (translation: Nice current and vintage Coach purses at very fair prices). I saw a wonderful dress outside on the sale rack (shoulda' grabbed it!) and a nice selection downstairs, which also includes a lot of menswear. I browsed as long as I could on an empty stomach before snagging a brand new, super cute, genuine leather Banana Republic purse for $11; after which I promptly headed to the nearest coffee shop. I will definitely be back to spend a lot more time but I'll make sure I've had my Wheaties first. read more
