There are a few Boogs employess at the Holmes Road (near Von's Plaza and Holmes Road Diner) station who have worked for Boggs several years and worked for Red when he owned the large station (it had a garage then) across the street. Just as a single builder-landlord kept rent lower in Ypsilanti, Boggs keeps gasoline lower priced. I suspect he often sells his gas at cost, looking to the little stores for profit. He provides another service. Free air and he keeps his air compressor and hose well maintained. He also keeps the hose in a good location. It's smart business. Boggs has me passing the other stations, even when they are a little cheaper (which is not very often) just because I appreciate the air hose and the polite cashiers.

Gas prices are cheap but not any better than other nearby options. When I was there, a lot of kids were on the sidewalk where you pull in and out. They were going to cross Prospect to get to school. It seems odd that the city allowed a gas station to be built so close to an elementary school. Also the man working was incredibly rude and unhelpful. When I went to pay he barely acknowledged my presence and seemed annoyed to be there.

When I pulled in the lot was compacted, but I was the only one refueling. Inside I witnessed a wonderful assortment of craft beers, cigars, and liquor--not expected. I use their facilities and was shocked how clean and classy it was--uncommon. Marble walls lined with marble listellos, plants, and framed mirror.
