First visit to Harris Teeter on Morrison Boulevard, and honestly, this place is massive…read more I made the trip for one reason and one reason only: Sumo mandarins. The internet told me they were in stock. The internet lied. No Sumos. Tragic. Still, this ended up being one of the nicest Harris Teeters I have visited in Charlotte. Beautiful layout. Super clean. Huge aisles. Plenty of parking. They even have a covered grocery pickup area and staff helping customers load groceries into their cars, which feels delightfully old-school these days. I wandered around way longer than I planned because this store just keeps going. Pharmacy, hot bar, prepared foods, giant self-checkout area, demos happening in-store, clearance sections, everything. At one point somebody was carving what looked like prime rib or rib roast and it smelled incredible. Ended up leaving with Memorial Day supplies instead. Hot dogs, rye bread, bread and butter pickles, cookies, and some buy-one-get-one frozen double-fried shrimp that air fryer people already know is dangerous behavior. I also grabbed some Halo mandarins to soften the emotional blow of the missing Sumos. One thing I really liked: a lot of the fruit was kept in refrigerated cases. Smart move for freshness and probably helps keep fruit flies and gnats under control during the Carolina heat. Coming from Northern California, where citrus practically appears year-round without effort, I am still adjusting to Southeast produce seasons. Apparently Sumo season is basically over here already, so lesson learned. Even without the Sumos, this store was worth the trip. If you are in the SouthPark area and enjoy grocery stores the way some people enjoy museums, this Harris Teeter is an experience. Life is too short to not eat well, Charlotte. Go explore your grocery stores too.

Located at an intersection where three Circle K's occupy four corners, it's hard not to notice the love. They make every visit feel like a personal high-five that kick-starts my day or helps me wrap it up. Don't expect a massive selection of sundries and supplies here, but what you do get is genuine service and friendly smiles every time. They always have my monster absolutely zero (the black can with blue writing) on deck which is the reason why I started coming here. I went to 27 stores one day between northeast concord and tega cay looking for the only drink in America I like and stumbled on this hidden gem. Luckily I'm only 15 minutes from this store but wish I knew this before driving home from work one day and stopping 27 times . The gentlemen who works here with the short black hair and the woman with long black hair always in a bun and wears her mask have just been exceptional towards me and it means alot. I'm no one special but when I walk in to this store I feel special. They are always so friendly and helpful. You can't beat customer service like theirs and they deserve a raise! I also met the owner or manager I believe and he is just as nice. I have always made friends with my local gas station clerks because they see me the most given I drive 3k miles in less than a month but this location is my go to because of how friendly they are. I will only come here for my monster and gas even if they have higher prices. Kindness matters. Sounds mushy and dumb but you literally never know what someone is going thru and their kindness has been so refreshing considering everything going on in the world and in my life. So just remember, be kind, be like this staff, because a small gesture whether good or bad can make or break someone's day. Thank you Adams Mart Shell staff, you have made my days a little better and easier with how kind and accommodating you are.

It used to feel like a small personal victory to cross into South Carolina and fill up for twenty…read moreor twenty five cents less per gallon, the kind of quiet bargain that made the detour worthwhile, but those days are gone now that their fuel excise tax has climbed to the point where the price is basically the same as here at Costco. With about 3/4ths of my tank being nothing but air, this stop turned into a perfectly timed chance to fill up as inexpensively as it gets anymore, and there was something satisfying about watching the numbers climb without feeling like I was being taken for a ride. Most folks still don't realize that if you're in a regular sized car you can pull up on either side of the pumps because Costco uses extra long hoses that easily reach across your vehicle, so you can just pick whichever line is shortest instead of waiting behind a row of SUVs all committed to the same side. It keeps things moving, or at least it does for the people who know the trick. The setup here is straightforward. Just regular and premium gas, no diesel, no squeegees, no frills. Scan your Costco membership card to start, then your credit card, and the pump wakes up immediately. It's quick, efficient, and exactly what you expect from Costco fuel, which is part of the appeal. On a morning when the rest of the shopping center felt like a maze of tight aisles and questionable decisions, the simplicity of the gas station was a welcome contrast, a little pocket of order before diving back into the madness of Sycamore Commons.
