I grabbed a warm pretzel, healthy chips and some nuts. Wine....of course. The wines however, were not labeled under correct pricing so sticker shock happened later at the til. It was minus 200 out though so I just wanted to get home. Service was friendly after a bit of a line up. The gentleman worker/cashier told me to come back in summer when the store was cleaner and floors, drier. It looked clean and pleasant to me considering winter and heavy volume. They just have to put all their wines in the right price slots! Getting gas was a breeze. Easy and many pumps. Off a very busy main road and requires patience at rush hour coming in and leaving the lot.

I have been going to the Circle K on Elgin Street for 7 years. Ever since it's been turned over to New Management the store has gone to crap . Especially the young guy who works in the morning sometimes at night is rude disrespectful has a poor attitude threatens to call the police anytime he doesn't like what you have to say and he's extremely homophobic when it comes to the trans community I've watched him laugh and mock trans people in the store . It has been addressed to the new owner several times but to be quite honest with you it seems like he doesn't even understand what you're saying to him because he will just laugh and say okay okay and walk away the individual seems to still be working there after several complaints against him about being homophobic and disrespectful to the trans community. The health department needs to be called because the food is disgusting do not eat the hot dogs pastries or the muffins for 3 days there was hundreds of fruit flies crawling all over them and they were still selling them to the public instead of removing them and cleaning out the cabinet they allowed it to sit in there for three more days. Get ready for it to blow your mind…read more I've written about so many great shopping and dining experiences, but if I'm honest with myself, this is the the business that I probably frequent the most often. Why, you may ask? While it's proximity to my apartment is one reason, the real one is the customer service. While this chain convenience store has all the makings of all other convenience stores (bright neon signs, primary colours and lots of signs on the windows...not to mention Slush Puppy machines and candy) there's something about it that makes it feel like my grandfather's old general store - the service is exceptional, the selection is good and the prices are fair. Bonus? The place stocks delicious baked goods (think lemon squares, macaroon bars, berry crumble, nanaimo bars and brownies - yum!) made by a local caterer. The store is family owned and operated, and they always greet us warmly and ask us how we are. They remember details like our dog's name and where we work. They should probably be giving high-end restaurants and department stores customer service lessons. I often find myself running in here during an emergency of the first world kind (read: running out of eggs while in the middle of baking a cake, no laundry detergent when I desperately need to wash clothes) and they always have what I need. We've grabbed a (gasp!) frozen pizza here a time or two and it's our go-to spot when we need to satisfy a sweets craving. While 5 cent candy and old general stores may be a thing of the past, this family-run Hasty Market is a gem in my neighbourhood, and they're a business I will always be happy to praise. Why then, did I not award 5 stars? The gentleman owner threw me a bit when he asked if I was my boyfriend's "caretaker" (my bf has some trouble walking due to cerbral palsy). I understand people's curiosity...but really. A little off-putting. He's since been super kind and so I can't fault him too much for it.

Non-branded flavours like sour strawberry and blue raspberry were fun to choose from, but the texture left much to be desired. All of the flavours I tried were pretty watery with chunks of ice, rather than layering like a good slurpee should. Otherwise, shop was well stocked, my friend got a $2 chocolate éclair (which had frosting filling) but was otherwise passable as a $2 convenience store pastry. Staff were chill. Whole place was clean, honestly way cleaner than I expected. Very fluorescent white atmosphere. Four stars for convenience, but the slurpee alone would get 3 haha.
