I'm starting to think that Indiana hides all the good burritos in unassuming places. Maybe I should start looking for burritos the next time I'm at the shoe store or the dentist. In any case, Ricker's has good burritos. One of the best parts about ordering a burrito at Ricker's is that you don't have to talk to anyone to order. There is an electronic screen that you use to punch in your order. Then you pick it up at the counter. You can customize your burrito to your liking. If you want a good burrito, I suggest ordering the following: refried beans, Mexican rice, cheese. That's it. If you want some meat in there, add carnitas. Don't go and ruin a perfectly fine burrito by adding sour cream and lettuce. If you're going to do that you might as well just order something else. This is how strongly I feel about this particular combination of burrito ingredients. Another reason to like Ricker's is because they sell cold beer. This means you could get your burrito to go, grab a six pack of cold Coronas, and have a nice little Mexican feast at home.

So, don't go out of your way to depend on getting gas here, regardless of the cost.

Prices for items are typical slightly higher in price, but very quick and easy to grab when in a hurry. Gas prices are about the same as other stations. The cool thing about this gas station is they have a drive thru window for people like me who are too lazy to even get out and walk inside, haha. I think their window closes at 9 pm though. But you just pull up to the window and tell the clerk all the things you want and they go around the store and get them for you. Basically anything they sell inside you can have them get for you. Now that's a lazy man's shopping trip right there, and it doesn't cost any extra, haha. Good place to get a few items and some fuel.

I decided to try the Pay Less station which was right across the road from my motel. I walked up to the window first and asked the young man if there was anything I needed to know about the station before I pump the gas, like whether the price was the same for cash or credit, whether I needed a special card or whatever. He said, Let me come out and show you, and walked over to the pump with me. He asked me if I had a Kroger card. I told him no because I lived out of town. He asked if I had a few other cards and when he said Fry's I remembered that I had shopped at the Fry's in Arizona frequently and that they were affiliated with one of the stores in San Diego, Ralph's I think. We tried my cell phone number and bingo it worked. I didn't just get the $1.95/gallon gas price that GasBuddy he had indicated, I got $0.03 off of that because of my phone number being on file so I paid $1.92 a gallon. Kudos to the young man who was so helpful to me. I told him this will be my gas station from now on when I'm in Anderson. Close. Easy. Cheap. And a great employee who helped me out. I always thought that the screen that flashed at the check out had something to do with points. But this time I asked. I was informed that it's just "asking for a donation" and when I think about how many times I saw this and I wasn't asked I was shocked. I have no problem giving something as a donation if it is for a good cause. Well me alone is at least $25 per month that they would get because I gas up both cars. How many other people are not having a chance to donate that might if given the opportunity?

It wasn't a long time, but in an empty store with two employees visible, I felt ignored. Then I thought, maybe they think I'm not ready, due to where I was standing. So, I walked up to the register and watched Jon stare intensely at the beverage dispensers from the kitchen area. He came over and assisted me, hurriedly, and then rushed off. He seemed annoyed when I asked if I could have a receipt because he had to come back to do so. Because I'm nosey, I stuck around to see what the issue was over by the drink dispensers. I watched him walk up to what I believe was the coffee machine and watched as he grabbed a cup from underneath the dispenser and brought it up to his lips. Turns out that he was just jonesing for a hit of caffeine!
