Let's start with my husband's jalapeño burger... y'all... he took ONE bite and immediately hit me with "this tastes like a high-quality homemade burger." And he wasn't lying. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked--like backyard grill mastery but elevated. Now let's talk about the kiddo's chicken tenders--because WHAT?! These weren't your average frozen, tossed-in-the-fryer situation. These were hands down some of the BEST chicken tenders I've had in a long time. Fresh, crispy, perfectly breaded, cooked to absolute perfection--and don't even get me started on the fries... golden, crispy, and downright addictive. And then... MY plate. The street taco plate with carne asada. Listen... this didn't just meet expectations--it BLEW THEM OUT OF THE WATER. The meat was fresh, insanely well seasoned (not overdone, not dry--just PERFECT). The flavors were bold without being overwhelming. And the sauces?! Unreal. The serrano sauce had the perfect kick without burning your soul off, and that avocado salsa? Smooth, flavorful, and chef's kiss. As someone who lives in Texas, I can confidently say--this is NOT your typical Tex-Mex spot. And thank goodness for that. So many places either overcook everything or completely miss the seasoning... but not here. This is authentic flavor, done RIGHT. This has officially become my go-to taco spot. No question. No competition. We WILL be back--and not just once... this is going into regular rotation. If you're even THINKING about trying this place--STOP thinking and GO. You can thank me later.

I noted their beautiful Mexican pots with fabulous plants around the establishment. We were seated and waited on quickly....ordered margaritas, which was a little bit difficult, because I don't understand Spanish and it seemed our waitress knew little English or we just could not understand her. This was frustrating, can you imagine how long it took us to order the meal. Once done when the chicken & steak fajitas came out fresh and sizzling. Chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly where the steak was tough & bland. The wrong beans were brought, but OH Well, no big deal They have a variety of dishes to select from. (See Photos of Menu) The establishment was handicapped friendly. Was clean on the inside and out. As we ate and drank our drinks, the waitress seated, a lady and her 2 children, one being a very young behind us. Immediately the baby started crying and no break, never quit. That was it for me !! Got a to go box and we were out of there. Lenise, my good friend said her sister loved the place, so now we can say .. we tried it. Hope you have better luck, have a good day.

We went on a Saturday around noon and were shocked it wasn't packed, because the food here is phenomenal. The experience started strong right away. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the owner, who was incredibly friendly. He asked if it was our first time, and when we said yes, he brought us samples of their birria beef. It was unbelievably tender and seasoned perfectly. After some great conversation, we ordered, grabbed our number, and sat down. We ordered four dishes for five people, the loaded birria nachos, birria tacos, quesabirria, and the birria mac and cheese. Every single item was fresh, flavorful, and filling. We were all full by the end. The meat was fall-apart tender, the consommé was outstanding, and the salsa had just the right amount of heat without overpowering anything. The mac and cheese was rich, cheesy, and cooked perfectly. The restaurant itself was spotless and clearly well cared for. This is a family-run business, and that shows in the best way. During our meal, the owner even came by with his grandbaby, and the whole place just had that warm, family vibe that makes you want to come back. Yes, it's a little more than you might expect to pay, but it is absolutely worth it. The portions are generous and the quality is top-tier, so you leave satisfied in every way. If you haven't been to Avila Taco yet, stop waiting. Do yourself a favor and go immediately.

The people are great, super friendly. Their restaurants are always clean. Parking, dining room, behind the counter and restrooms. Spotless. Driving in it was packed. Drive thru was lined up around the corner and down the street. Dining room was packed as well but we were able to order right away and grabbed a booth. A line formed though and it moved quickly. Our burgers arrived fairly quickly. 5 minutes max. They were delicious. We love getting them protein style. (Lettuce wrapped). Fries were hot and crispy. Now that I know to order them well done I love them! What's impressive is the consistency. No matter where I go In and Out Delivers! Everything is always hot and fresh. Less than $20! Restaurant is always clean and well lit, and what's not to love with the throw back decor and service with a smile every time we visit. On the busier days, seating can be a challenge, but the tables clear fast and normally clean within minutes. The menu is simple, and you know what you getting when going in fresh burgers and hand cut fries, both never frozen, an it definitely adds to the taste. To top it off, the price is reasonable for the quality of the meal, and very few burger joints can match the precision of their service. They certainly live up to their name.

Taco Cabana has been my GO TO for Mexican fast food for a long time. They've always had fresh food with amazing flavors. Miss those brisket street tacos. Miss the grilled shrimp tacos also! Taco Cabana was open 24 hours until the Covid scare, and now closes at midnight, and opens at 6am. I haven't gone in the morning recently, so I'm not sure about their breakfast menu. Last time I did though, the breakfast tacos were dry, flavorless, and did not seem fresh. They seemed old. I chalked it up to just a bad day, at the time. But today I ordered the favorites still available online, set an order time that should have meant my food was fresh, and drove to pick it all up. The chips weren't stale, but tasted of old grease. The guacamole tasted more of vinegar than avocado. The tomatoes were chewy. My cheese enchiladas were not tasty. It's like they forgot to put the seasoning in the cheese. The cheese inside the enchilada is just flavorless. The queso on the top just seems salty, and not really cheesy, but almost watery; and the tomatoes in the queso were also chewy. This has not been my usual experience with Taco Cabana. Usually, the enchiladas, guacamole, and chips are delicious, both flavor- and texture-wise. This meal might have been something out of a can. They forgot to put the street in my Street Corn. It was just canned corn with cheese on top. There was no street corn seasoning, or creamy street corn sauce, like before. It had just canned corn water at the bottom that tasted like a can. Even the cheese on top of the corn was just a big, wet, glob, and was tasteless. The refried beans tasted of vinegar like the guac. The rice was very chewy. The flavor of the rice was good, but it wasn't pleasant to eat. I'm hoping that Taco Cabana managers will see this review, and rediscover the love for food they had in the first place, and make appropriate changes to bring the quality back up to what it was when I discovered it.
