I have to write this review mainly because of what just transpired this past weekend. Circle E became my favorite candlemaker a few years ago, with their Leather scent shooting right to the top of best candles I've ever put my nose in (their Gardenia is a close second). I was in Fredericksburg this past Saturday shopping, and accidentally left a small coinpurse of mine on their counter while juggling other items in my hands. I didn't realize it until I got home later that night (I live about 4 hours away), so I called when they opened on Sunday to see if they had it. They did, and I asked if they could mail it to me since I live so far and wouldn't be making it back anytime soon (sadly). Not only did they mail it back to me without hesitance, they must have overnighted it because it's Tuesday afternoon and I just received my purse, contents and all. HUGE EPIC thank you to the employees of Circle E! I cannot thank them enough for doing this. I fully expected someone else to have snatched it up, or for them to mail it regular mail, which would've been fine. But no, they went truly above and beyond. You guys were my favorites already, but now you'll stay there forever. Thank you again! read more

I stopped by Circle E Candles while visiting Fredericksburg because I thought I could save on shipping by buying directly from the store. Unfortunately, the visit was a huge disappointment. Many of the candle displays were empty, and several scents I wanted weren't available. When I asked if they knew when those fragrances would be back in stock, the staff couldn't provide any estimate. Another issue was that all of the candles started to smell the same after a few minutes. Most candle stores provide coffee beans to help reset your sense of smell between fragrances, but there weren't any available here, making it difficult to compare scents. The two employees working during my visit were not helpful and didn't seem interested in assisting customers. Between the poor selection, lack of product knowledge, and disappointing customer service, the visit wasn't worth the trip. I left empty-handed and will likely order elsewhere if I decide to purchase Circle E Candles in the future. June 2026 read more

It has a well-organized layout and the employee there the day we visited was friendly and helpful which contributed to a pleasant shopping experience. I am very particular about candles due to my extreme sensitivity to strong scents. Circle E Candles had scents that weren't too over powering for me. Although the candle smells great, the wick is TERRIBLE! It puts off a lot of soot. It put off so much soot, even with cutting the wick after every burn, that it stained my wall and ceiling to the point it looked as though it had been through a fire. I literally have to repaint my wall and ceiling!! I will NEVER buy another one of these candles. read more

The candles are amazing! The only downside is that they are very pricey. Also, the staff was rude to me and my group that was visiting. The whole time the lady was groaning and saying things in a rude tone to us. When I called someone to pick us up, I told the location, and I forgot the name and just said "circle E". Circle E Candles are wonderful! I love the different smells and the unique deco and gift ideas they have for them. I've bought a few candles from there from local area stores/shops that carried some of their stuff but never really went to where the magic happens. They definitely have an extensive selection in scents and in sizes. Small votives run about 3 bucks but the bigger stuff can run ya about 36. Then they have these huge jars called 'Cookie Jar Candles' and they're about 50 bucks. The scents last a long time - even a small 4 oz can have a burn time of about 30 hours or more (with a cost of about 6). Don't ask about the factory part though. They apparently don't have it open to the public and it's not open on the weekends either anyway. =) read more

I absolutely love the circle e birds of paradise candle and have bought countless candles but after today I probably will never buy their products again. I lit the candle around 12 pm and by 3:20 pm the candle had exploded on my countertop. It burned the countertop as well. Thank goodness I was within hearing distance to hear the explosion because when I went into the kitchen it was still burning. read more

Passed by this showroom on the way in to Fredericksburg and had to do a quick turnaround. Never knew Circle E was housed here, and they are the absolute best candles! The smells are hit or miss for candles scents. My husband and I settled on kiwi strawberry and almond cream cake. Some of the scents are spot on like the peaches and leather. Other scents like double fudge brownie and vanilla smell cheap. I'm excited to burn the candles in the future. The candles are suppose to burn for a long time and hopefully not explode like others have mentioned Be sure to get your veterans discounts if that applies. read more

My absolute favorite candles! They seem pricey at first, but they last a long time and the scent fills up any room! (we have a really large living room and it fills the whole upstairs up). Lots of yummy scents, my faves are ambrosia, bird of paradise, fresh cake, butter rum, butterfly kisses, gourmet sugar cookie, & spiced cake. (and there are many more!) I live your scents, but your ongoing safety issue of cracking and exploding glass containers is something you need to address. It's out of hand. Don't believe me? Just look at the visitor posts to your Facebook page. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen. Update 12/17. Circle E continues to ignore their customers who have had exploding candle glass issues. Their Facebook page is covered in one star reviews talking about the issue. For a company to know this exists and still willfully ignore it is criminal. The lawsuit that will eventually be filed against Circle E will likely get them to change things (or be put out of business) read more

I have purchased the 17oz and 22 oz sizes. Either use 2 larger wicks or 3 wicks. These candles are burning unevenly!! I trimmed the wicks as instructed and burned them for four hours. Neither candle achieved a full pool. For the price I paid for these candles, they should be burning evenly. read more

Too much trouble, especially for a candle! Instructions come with these candles so even after following instructions I still have issues with the wicks burning out all of the time and an uneven burn. They are way too expensive to keep doing this. Some of the scents smell good, others don't smell at all. read more

I wasn't very interested in coming here with my friend last week because I already have tons of candles and I just didn't see the need for more in my life - or my carry-on when I had so many other things to worry about. She wanted to come get the Cotton Candy candle since that's her favorite and we eventually stopped in the smaller store on the strip further down from their main store with the production center. They have some nice scents that I liked - Butterfly Kisses, Cherry Vanilla, Orange Vanilla, Bed of Roses, Christmas Spirit, and Wassail which I really liked. They had a few like Leather and Eternity (like the CK cologne) that were interesting but I don't know if I'd want my house to be filled with that heady scent... ah well - to each their own. My favorite is their most popular - so I guess I'm a sheep - bc Bird of Paradise smells so damn good that I immediately bought one. lol. I wasn't overly impressed with their standard line - it's fine - but it's just normal boring glass jars. What I liked, and ended up buying, was a small golden glass candle that has a real handblown glass look to it - it's decorative all on its own and then has that fantastic Bird of Paradise scent in it. I liked the store - but I liked the location also - nestled in with all the other charming shops in Fredericksburg, TX makes for a fun afternoon with friends or family. read more

I purchase my first 12oz Discovery candle from the Fredericksburg store and I can say I am very disappointed! I burnt the candle 3 time each time was under 3 hours, more like 2 hours and the candle is half gone. It indicates a 75-80hr burn but you won't get that! At least I'm not. I will not be buying anymore of their candles for what they charge. I'll stick to my wall plug-ins. I contacted the company and shared my experience and I was told "The candle that you have has been burned more than the recommended time for you to received the 78 hour burn time of the 12oz Discovery candle. What we may suggest is to please burn only the recommended time at each burn time. This may be 2 to 3 hours at a time, even less. Just as long as the wax liquefies from one corner/edge to the other." Clearly this is exactly what I did - 3 times! Not wasting my money on Circle E. Fragrances are nice but not worth the price if they only last half the time they say or less. read more

Recently bought a candle of theirs at a local distributor. Could not get the candle to stay lit. I emailed Circle E Candles to ask how they may be able to help. Maria B. asked me to send her pictures of it and then after not hearing back from her for a couple of days I sent her another message asking what I should do. She said that they were not going to help me because they had discontinued this candle and no longer made it, and that it was sold at a discounted price. Regardless that it was their product and did not work. They did not even offer to send anything comparable to the $20 that I paid for it. I have always highly praised their candles and have been buying them for years. I've been to the factory a few times over the years but will not be going back. I am extremely disappointed with their customer service and my candle that will not burn. read more

So I purchased these beautiful smelling rose candles from Fredericksburg Tx... well it burned well the first couple of times. However around the third time that I lit the candle I heard a loud "POP" and it scared my kids and I! Come to realize the plastic around the top rim of the candle popped and started melting down the candle and getting on my dresser! They do smell lovely but not very safe especially if you have kids. Love, love, love this place! Their selection is amazing. Prices seem a little high until you realize that their candles last forever. You could pay a lot less for a candle that wouldn't burn nearly as long. Scents are strong and will fill up your room/house, even the small ones. Service is odd. The first time we went, the guy who helped us was a (retired?) local football coach, who was very nice and chatty. This time, the lady was cold and unamused, which was too bad. Favorite scents are Hill Country Bluebonnets, Wisteria, and Apple Strudel. We have been here each time we've visited from out of town, and I'm sure we'll be back again! read more

I miss this place... I used to stop in to get votive candles on my way from Kerrville to Austin, or vice versa, but now that my trips are few and far between, it's harder to be traveling on 290 while they're open. However, they have the most wonderful candles. As the other reviews have mentioned, they are pricey, yes, but so worth it. I tend to like tropical scents, my mom is all about cottons and linens, my older sister likes floral, my younger sister likes desserts, and my dad likes their baby powder scent. It's great when holidays come around and I want to throw together a gift with a variety of trinkets. The candles come in a wide variety of sizes, and they have plenty of accessories if you don't get a candle in glass. Additionally, the staff is so friendly and willing to help. The whole place smells amazing. I rarely carry cash, but the one time I used cash to pay here, my change even smelled amazing. While pricier than most candles, keep in mind the burn time - this makes the cost totally worth it. One could absolutely have a candle for months, with frequent and multiple burns. I've been using Circle E Candles for over 10 years. have not had any problems burning and broken jars the fragrances is all the way through the candles. Pay clothes attention to information how to burn the candles. Trim wick to a 1/3 in each time you light your candle and you will get all your burning time and more. Let it liquefy over the whole top before putting it out.it well take about 2 to 3 hours do not let your wick burn high it will smoke and your jars will get black. This store looks awesome. The packaging (glass jars with nice label) is good. The staff is attentive. However, the most important aspect, the product itself, fails miserably. If you like natural, earthy, authentic scents, than this is not the place for you. I buy high quality candles around the world and locally made. I purchase expensive long burning candles. I love circle E Candles! I do not like the young blonde girl who works main st. She is very rude! I shop there a lot. Be cause I work across the street. Was trying to buy the teachers a gift for end of the year. And couldn't. Now remember I'm in there all the time. Ppl should know me by now. My husband is a head chef at a restaurant here in town and we was both in uniform. I get that you need an id to purchase something with a debit card, but if our names are on our shirts and it matches the card. And we work right across the street! Come on Blondie.
