My son would begin meltdowns right when we walked in - we were eventually switched to a different time and therapist, it didnt help any. The owner & new therapist seen my son once a week, he wasnt allowed anywhere but one small room. The owner led the sessions. My son has HIGH sensory needs, autistic and nonverbal. the owner specifically constantly took activities away that he enjoyed to regulate himself with and forced puzzles & other things (why we dont know). Once we started bringing him here he started having major aggression issues at home and at school. she ( the owner) would restrain him with cushions and tell the therapist it was okay "because thats not really restraining him with the cushion in between" when hes screaming and fighting to be let go. at our last appointment she (the owner) did the restraining again, & then I physically watched her grab him, set him on her lap to force him to do a puzzle and when my son looked away i watched her actually stop herself from grabbing his head and physically turning it for him back to where she wanted him to look. To the point i said "dont even think about it". My son actually came home with marks from his last appointment there and that's why i never took him back. The 2 therapist that he seen before the owner got involved were actually really helpful and they really did try but you could tell that they were uncomfortable and out of their wheelhouse With high sensory need children. Since we have stopped taking him there his aggression issues have completely went away and he stopped having issues at school. I would not recommend this place to anybody. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Also they charged me $50 for canceling an appointment because my son did not sleep at all that night And had slept most of the day and they told me that we should just reschedule For a different time that day because the therapist could handle it. They don't have the kids best interest at heart and that's obvious.

They don't make you feel like you're bothering them when you need something. No matter what you are having them do. Cleaning you up, getting ice water, or just opening the blinds. There is 1 nurse on the night shift which is very grouchy and rude. She gets off at 10:30pm and i called to be changed and she said "Your couldn't wait for 10 minutes to push your button. Excuse me if I dont know your schedule and I can't control my bowels. Maybe she shouldn't be taking care of elderly patients.

I am allergic to most perfume, so discussed it with the supervisor. She apparently thought I was the only person who was reactive and did nothing. A couple of days later, I smelled her wearing perfume. I was also disappointed there was no decaff coffee. I can't be the only one with high blood pressure. It seems that a healthcare facility should always have decaff for patients.

Once she was back home, I called to rescheduled and they said I need to be sure that her conditions is stabilized and I will not cancel again. I said she has heart disease. She will be in and out of the hospital. I can't guarantee if I won't cancel in the future. They told me they can't have me as a client. That's perfect because there are plenty of therapy options around. I do not need their business..

Scheduling was easy, as was submitting the intake form and they got me in quickly. The parking was easy, the facility was not only clean, but beautifully decorated and such a friendly and inviting place for kids! The speech room we were in had fun toys and our ST made us feel at ease. We then went over to the OT room which again, was beautifully decorated with fun Disney characters, an amazing cocoon swing that my son just LOVED, and more fun toys. The bathrooms are also clean and very kid friendly. My son who is usually scared of public restrooms felt right at home. We had a wonderful experience here and only wish Seattle had something like Sky Bridge!

Staff is attentive and very pleasant PT and OT were very good and made sure they gave my husband the attention needed to regain his strength Cons Parking is horrible. I spoke to the Administrator about when I saw at least six staff members parking in front rather than around the back so there was no room for visitors, He was almost rude and pretty much stated it wasn't his problem. Food was less than stellar. They were supposed to take orders so you didn't have to eat the meal of the day, sometimes that happened and sometimes not. Way over salted but when my husband mentioned that he was told they didn't salt anything. Might want change who the food is sourced from. Beds were so uncomfortable according to my husband. Activities were not something most would want to participate in, It was better than some but there is still room for improvement and if the higher staff members don't see a problem then nothing changes

Upon arrival, she was served a meal consisting of a hoagie roll with two very thin slices of turkey, a piece of Kraft cheese cut in half, cold fries, and fruit that was unrecognizable. This raised immediate concerns about basic care and nutrition. The goal of short term rehabilitation is to help patients regain strength, improve their health, and return home to their normal activities. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. My mother became weaker with each passing day. Given her condition, it should have been immediately clear that she required assistance with basic tasks. However, it took until the following day for staff to recognize that she was unable to feed herself. When assistance was requested for toileting, a CNA stated in front of me that my mother could use her diaper and would be cleaned later. This appeared to be standard practice, as she was frequently left in bed until the afternoon and not regularly assisted to the restroom. As a result, her hygiene declined significantly. A physical therapist later expressed concern about her condition, noting that at 3:30 PM she was still in bed and had not been properly cared for. Communication throughout her stay was extremely poor. There were constant staff changes, and no clear continuity of care. Nursing and physical therapy appeared to operate in separate systems with little coordination. Despite multiple requests, we were never able to speak with a physician at any point during her stay. During this time, my mother developed pneumonia. We have since moved her to another facility. Within the first 30 minutes of her arrival at Orchard Park, she received more care and attention than she did during the entire two weeks at Avamere. I fear for patients who do not have an advocate, as they may be left with little to no care. Overall, the level of care, communication, and coordination fell well below expectations.

My husband was a recent patient at Rainier Rehab for a hip fracture…read more We had problems from the beginning getting the staff to move him safely, feed him a diabetic diet, administer his medications and weigh him at the proper time. Most of the staff were very accommodating. However, because the doctor and nurse practitioner were unwilling to adjust his medication when he needed it, my husband has been hospitalized for a week. He developed huge water blisters and sores on his legs as a result of their negligence. At one time, he was left on the toilet for so long and the nurse did not respond to the call light, so he had to get up himself. There was constant urine on the bathroom floor because the equipment was old and inadequate. Many times there was noone in the halls or at the nurses station through the day. Wait times for a response to a call button many times exceeded an hour. It is only pure luck that he did not fall again undertheir poor care. The facility is old and outdated. The phone didn't work properly due to being old and dropped so many times. I had to bring in many things from home because they provided a bed and old nightstand period. We chose this place because we were told it was a 5 star facility with a doctor and nurse practitioner 7days a week. There was no doctor or nurse practitioner on site on the weekends. Be very careful if you place a loved one here. The staff is friendly and seem caring, but when you need real medical help, the doctor and nurse practitioner make the decisions. In my husband's case, their negligence caused him a week in the hospital.

This rehab hospital gave me a safe, calm, and genuinely caring environment to heal physically, emotionally, and mentally as I adjusted to changes in my function and prepared to return home. What stands out most is the people. Every person I interacted with, from front desk staff to nurses, CNAs, therapists, doctors, and case managers, treated me with empathy, patience, and respect. I never once felt rushed or dismissed. I felt cared for at every level. My occupational therapist, Beverly, was phenomenal. She brought incredible energy to each session, explained what was happening with my body, and used a wide range of tools and exercises to help me regain function. More importantly, she made it feel safe to try, adjust, and try again. Hiro was my main physical therapist, along with others including Alicia, Stephanie, and Annie. Hiro has an exceptional way of helping you feel relaxed and supported, even when the work is challenging. Physical therapy sessions felt encouraging rather than intimidating, and I gained real confidence in my balance and walking because of his approach. Dr. Wang and Corrine managed my medical care, and I always felt listened to and supported. My speech therapist, Abby, was also outstanding. Her work focused on real life transitions and helped me think through what life would look like after discharge. It felt like return to life therapy, not just speech therapy. My case manager, Lindsay, made the discharge process smooth and stress free. She coordinated appointments, handled details, and ensured everything was in place so I did not have to worry about what came next. The nurses and CNAs were exceptional. Names I remember include Bridget, Shane, Kristen, JoJo, Sarah, Courtney, Daryl, Anne, Rachel, Albert, and Ebony, along with many others who showed the same level of care. Their support was personal, attentive, and deeply human, which made a meaningful difference during a vulnerable time. The facility itself is excellent. I had a private room that supported my healing and gave me space to practice independence. The rehab gyms are outstanding and well equipped. The food also deserves recognition. It was genuinely good, and nutrition is clearly treated as part of the recovery process. I also want to thank Julee at the main desk, who was consistently kind and welcoming during my early mornings and helped me ease into each day. This hospital gave me the space to rest, recover, and rebuild. If I ever need inpatient rehabilitation again, this is absolutely where I would want to be.
