All dog owners should have their dog professionally trained and budget accordingly. It is the best investment you can make for you and your dog's well-being.

Andrew spent an hour or two at the house, observing the dogs and talking to us about what we were hoping to accomplish relative to what he was seeing. Before leaving, he gave us a couple of simple things to work on prior to the start of our consecutive board-and-train sessions two weeks later. Frankie and Ellie are now back with us and while they still have enormous amounts of energy, their ability to respond to commands, walk with a loose leash (zero pulling) and maintain their "place" is incredible! Selective use of the e-collars has even allowed us to redirect their attention in the midst of their loudest, most raucous roughhousing episodes. We can't recommend Andrew enough. He has a way that brings about significant behavioral changes in the dogs while building the confidence of owners: it's amazing to witness the transformations. We are so grateful that we found Andrew and would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone looking to reconnect and improve their relationship with their dog(s)!

Ruby is our rambunctious 3-month-old golden retriever and they helped her become much more self-regulating, polite, and confident--it feels like we have a much happier and secure puppy now. Madison worked with her on all the essentials--basic commands, leash manners, and appropriate behavior in new environments--but what really stood out was how thoughtfully they approached real-life situations. They helped her learn how to walk calmly, settle herself, and even confidently handle outings into stores and unfamiliar settings. They clearly understand how to help support a well-adjusted, secure dog. We feel so much more confident as owners, too. Couldn't recommend Bark Tutor Training more highly!

Our goofy, 3-year-old supermutt loves Bark Tutor so much. But if you've got new young puppers in your family, this is the place to take them. The trainers and staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and genuinely love all of the doggos so much. They get a very good read on their personalities in the small group setting, and mix and group dogs accordingly in different spaces while also allowing time for breaks and hydration. The space is always super clean and inviting, with big windows in the front to see the main play area. Our dog Oliver is a very assertive player, and they always make sure he gets to play his way -- even if it's with the staff! If I'm honest, our guy has probably aged out of Bark Tutor, but we keep bringing him back because it's his favorite place in the world. He's been to daycare at many other places in and out of town, but nothing gets his bottom wiggling like a day at Bark Tutor.

She has regular bath/grooming sessions there as well. As such, we have had the opportunity to get to know most of the Uptown Team throughout the years, from the day care staff to management to trainers, and they have been nothing but caring, supportive, knowledgable and accommodating. She is always clearly happy and excited to see them, no matter which staff member it is, when we drop her off. When our dog was younger we tried out a few other day care businesses to see what was out there, and Uptown Pup was the only place where we felt our dog was cared for and received an individual focus; each Uptown staffer truly cares about the dogs' well-being and wants each one to flourish. Our dog has anxiety issues, particularly with loud noises such as thunderstorms and fireworks, and Uptown has consistently gone above and beyond to help her with this, including taking her aside from her group to relax and hang out during day care. During her boarding stays the staff has also paid extra attention to make sure she was comfortable. She also has a food allergy and a sensitive stomach, and the staff always remains cognizant of this and makes sure she avoids certain types of treats/foods when she's there. These are just a few examples of the care that Uptown takes for clients. For anyone deciding whether to entrust Uptown Pup with their day care, boarding, training or grooming needs, this probably sums it up best: we wouldn't just recommend Uptown Pup - we wouldn't take our dog anywhere else BUT Uptown Pup.

Seriously, the best dog training, which this was, helps human owners recognize how to help dogs be their best selves without using coercive, painful or negative tactics. We learned stationing, calming techniques, and loose leash walking, which has been particularly beneficial for me since I am usually solo walking 2 medium-sized, but young and energetic dogs. I've also had private lessons with Jimmy on an urgent basis. He was very, very helpful to me to change specific behaviors that were problematic when encountering other dogs. Whether you have a new dog who needs to learn basic skills or a challenging pup requiring creative, positive training, Uptown Pup is the place to start.
