In fact, pay attention to the programming as filmmakers and specials guests will be present, such as Denis Villeneuve during it's sold out presentation of Blade Runner 2049 last Sunday. A state of the art equipped theatre, with 4K projectors, seats about 54 people and provides daily screenings at 7pm and 9pm and all day on the weekends. The fronting intimate 'café-slash-bar' provides a perfect area to get out of our traditional "web streaming bubble", gather in an intimate yet vibrant environment, socialize and mingle with locals over a beverage or food or your choice at any time or the day. Although it wasn't too busy and people were strolling in and out quite a bit, I could imagine this place getting crowded at peak times. On the menu were an assortment of steamed bao buns including vegetarian, gravlax, chicken or smoked meat and even a breakfast bao which I had the chance to taste with a side salad with glass of fresh pressed orange juice during brunch. There's also a choice cleverly named brews on tap, as well nice wine card and hand crafted cocktails. Located upstairs, is a post-production company called Post-Moderne, where many movies are go through finalisation processes such as colorisation. Overall, the theatre, café-bar, and post-prod company combination is a very smart use of space and very interesting concept to discover. Please do come and experience what the founders, Roxanne Sayegh and Alexandre Domingue, have been researching for so long in Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, New York and Mexico City, and finally transform their dream into reality right here in Montreal - hopefully stating a revolutionary movement that will make pull us cinephiles out of our couches back into the theatre! Plenty of restaurants just blocks away. I watched The Old Oak (2023) and Un Varón (2022) during the latest Cinema Latino showings. Films available are mostly indie, so your mileage will vary on enjoyment but that's part of the charm - you will be hard pressed to find films like these elsewhere. In our late stage capitalist society, I love that you can always find a breath of fresh air at Cinema du Parc where most theatres are mostly showing blockbusters and franchises 24/7.

Everyone who we stood with to wait for the theatre to open was extremely kind, and after the staff member said their welcome message (which was done really well, regardless of how nervous he must have been and seemed), I started clapping and the theatre followed my lead which was very nice. It's all part of the movie-going experience to root for each other and to share in what is about to unfold. Forget everything else going on, be kind to each other and just enjoy the moment. At least, that's what I like to think. (The movie was great so I encourage you to see it on the big screen if you can).

Adults only, expanded menu with alcohol and table service. Large spacious seats and more premium feel. The renovated Atwater location is far better now compared to Brossard. This location offers reclinable seats, extremely comfortable "lazy boy" type sofas. You can adjust the legs and neck position, there is even a heated seat button. Ideal for couples.The middle partition comes up so you can be closer to the person next to you. There is tons of room and an average of 8 or 10 rows only for the whole theatre. There are large cup holders and mini table for your foods. The lobby area has a bar and dine in restaurant experience if you want to come early and grab a bite. Otherwise, while you are in the room, there are waiters who are ready to serve. You can also order food through the Cineplex app and have it brought to you. Only complaint is how long the food service goes on for - we were about 20 mins into the movie and some people were still not done ordering or the food took a while to arrive as the staff kept walking around. This is a bit of a disturbance as their heads are blocking the screen. I would highly recommend everyone come here at least 15 mins before the start of the movie if you know you'll want to order food or check out the rest of the facilities. People showing up right when the movie starts and lights are dim end up making too much noise and shuffling through the menu or phones to get their orders in. The menu offerings are diverse, it used to be mostly burgers and nachos but there are different options like tacos or wraps, poutines and of course classic popcorn and candy. Prices are high. A soda is around $6 to give you an idea. The ticket itself for this VIP cinema with reclinable seats is around $25 a person. Best to reserve seats online in advance to get the ones you want. This Cineplex offers lots of regular seating as well, I believe the whole upper floor is just standard but the downstairs is fully renovated and beautiful. The bathrooms are also improved, the stalls feature large doors offering more privacy. If you're looking for a more comfortable, spacious movie going experience, the VIP is a great choice. Hard to go back to a regular theatre after this! Note this location offers paid underground parking as well.

Last night I went to see a film adaptation of Charles Dicken's novel "Oliver Twist." The film,shot on 16mm and released in 1922, was silent with English subtitles. In addition to the film itself, the musical score was played live, in house by a wonderful pianist who played a baby grand piano at the front of the theatre for the entirety of the film - AWESOME. I arrived well before the film commenced as I suspected the theatre would be packed. My prediction couldn't have been more inaccurate. I'd say there about 15 people in the audience. This baffles me. For $7 (student price), this is the best value for anyone who appreciates the cinema or culture in general. GO!
