So happy to find a funny plant-based bakery in Knoxville. Decadent breakfast and dessert treats, excellent coffee and specialty coffee drinks, and the staff is friendly and super helpful in navigating all the interesting options of food and drink available. I just got a plain old skool which is just topped with a vanilla cream. It's one of those treats you can't do too often bc it's so sweet the doctor will take your foot. Delicious! What a great idea for a business! The only downside -- there were no gluten free rolls, they did not offer gluten free cinnamon rolls which was so disappointing. They did offer a gluten free sliced banana or apple with frosting on it. But that's just not the same as a cinnamon roll. I've already written corporate and asked them to please offer some gluten free roll options. I have great hopes! I LOVE CINNAHOLIC & usually visit the one in Cary, NC. We were visiting TN for a basketball tournament, so I was pleasantly surprised when Yelp recommended this store to me. I was excited to go there. As usual, I ordered 2 buns with cake batter icing and minis with caramel icing. Yum!!! I was sad to find out that my NC account wasn't linked to their system even after the cashier said she thought it would be linked. So, I made a new account with them. They wouldn't honor the $5 off coupon that I had from my regular store either. Again, bummer!!! That didn't stop me from ordering though. I guess I love this place too much. There was quite the wait as they were baking buns constantly & had a lot of people waiting. When I got my buns, they were hot an ooey gooey!!!! Loved it. I wish I had ordered more. I love a good cinnamon roll. I went on a late Saturday morning. A family was out front eating their goodies. The young lady said hello when I walked in. The inside is fairly small and confined. They had a few rolls shown in a display case but didn't have a list of ingredients. I order the old skool. It was a good size, there was enough icing for even the icing lover. The employee while pleasant enough but seemed to wait to see what tip she received before moving on to make the roll(s). And did not really engage in conversation with any of the customers even those that were asking questions. See the display case above- one asked was was in the Barbie and she basically ignored the question. She also did not offer plastic ware or where to find them, even after saying the roll was to go. I saw on the website it was good for kids- not sure I see that as the inside would be too small for them to be inside and outside is a parking lot just off a busy road. I could see this being a great place to pick up rolls to take home and either serve immediately or the next morning. I could see these being great for holidays. When you're new to eating a vegan / plant-based diet and your family is rebelling against what mom is making at home TAKE THE WHOLE FAMILY HERE!! Not only are the cinnamon rolls amazing (and everything is VEGAN!!), the coffee is delicious, too. Be prepared when you arrive ... the choices can be overwhelming, but they have several flavors on display that you can choose from to make building your cinnamon roll completely stress-free (if it's even possible to be stressed when you're about to enjoy a yummy cinnamon roll!). I will say, the rolls are slightly smaller than I imagined they would be (I'm remembering Cinnabon from the mall, but the last time I had one it was the 90s so I could be remembering way wrong). The toppings more than make up for the slightly smaller size and make them very filling. They are priced a little higher than this coupon-loving mama would normally prefer, but this is a once-in-a-while treat, so it's fine and I think the value is there for the product you receive. Our family ordered 2 of the pumpkin pie, a maple pecan, and a plain / original. Not a bite was left and everyone - including my two teen daughters and husband enjoyed it all! I will say on a Sunday there were no tables for our family of 4, so we separated into 2 tables, so if you've got a family any size larger than 2 or doing a double date or group of friends, plan to get it to go. Absolutely delicious. We went here for date night dessert and were so impressed. The establishment is so cute and the mural on the wall is a cool added touch! OMG straight vegan goodness! This joint interior design is on fleek! I'm not sure what was here before but this definitely beats it out. Even the displays of the example of cinnamon rolls they had made my mouth water and luster for flavor. The whole family was definitely pleased and we got them to go and warmed them up when we got to the house which made it almost better. this is a truly 100% vegan sweet treat establishment. This works for me because I'm doing my best to be vegan but I have a killer sweet tooth that I cannot knock and this at least makes me feel a little better for it. It's always exciting to have a new vegan option, especially in an area like Knoxville where there are not many special diet considerations. The staff were very informative and friendly in explaining their menu, as well as offering samples of their frosting. However, when I'm buying a cinnamon roll, I want it to taste somewhat of cinnamon, and not just any other dough doused in sugary frosting. Maybe I had gotten a roll from the previous day because the dough was hard, gritty, and stale tasting, and just tasted like it was quickly microwaved and then drowned in frosting. The frosting wasn't even staying on the roll, but running completely off the roll itself and was pure liquid because everything was so hot. I had gotten a cinnamon roll with lemon icing, blueberries, and pie crumbles, but the blueberries were also sour and underripe. I am kind of disappointed because I was looking forward to this place for a while now, and I am all about bringing new vegan options to Knoxville. That said, many people would find it difficult to even notice that all the enticing treats are vegan. I do like how they offer dairy free options for coffee too as a standard.
