After signing up for an Unlimited Card and going nearly half a dozen times in the last month alone I feel I can now give this a fair review.
Okay, so when you arrive most of the cinema is upstairs. There is a Starbucks on the ground floor (you get 10% off if you show an unlimited card but as I've found it only works in the cinema ones) and the self booking/ticket collecting machines; some toilets and to get upstairs a lift or escalators.
Once on the first floor there is the concessions stand, some unlimited ticket booking/card machines, a place where if you really really want to you can buy a ticket from a human being and of course more toilets and the screens.
This Cineworld features a IMAX screen and a DBOX screen which has 2 rows of seats, you must reserve these or they won't activate for the showing.
With it being not even a year old yet everything feels quite new and dare I saw it a little bit special when I go in - we have had a crumbling Odeon for years after all.
The seats are really comfy, there is none of this pay us an extra £1.50 so we won't give you back ache...maybe. With the exception of IMAX and DBOX they are all the same and all really comfy, DBOX well they move and vibrate and do all sorts - worth the extra for certain films. IMAX - you get leather. The rows are also so steep that it doesn't matter if your behind a giraffe of a person, your movie experience will not be impacted.
Overall I'm really happy with the cinema, I adore new, clean and modern things.
I also relish automated experiences, which is however where the snag comes and this place does not get 5 stars.
The automated ticket machines, all futuristic, all touch screen and so very 'Tron' have this niggling fault.
When I book my ticket on the app or on the website, not only does it give you 10% off as well if there is anything to pay but it sends you a QR code and if you have an iPhone it downloads a ticket to your passbook which theoretically your supposed to scan on this machine instead of having to type it in. Never got it to work, not once. There are other ways and things to scan to get your ticket like your unlimited card barcode and by putting the debit card you booked with.
Its not about having to type the code in, I'm not lazy. It's about them having a feature that doesn't work - it annoys me. read more
