It's a cinema. Quite difficult to review, really. Cineworld is a big cinema in the West of Edinburgh. The screens are large, and generally comfortable. A student ticket to see a movie is £6.90, which I consider quite a lot of money, but it stacks up well compared to other cinemas in the city. How I miss Orange Wednesdays! Of course, snacks and drinks are crazily expensive, like anywhere, but a plus for this Cineworld is the presence of Starbucks on the first floor. It has a nice selection of cakes and hot and cold drinks. Across the road is a Sainsbury's, where you can buy snacks as well (but keep them well hidden from the cinema authorities!). Overall, a good, comfortable cinema, with a lot of screens and thus a lot of movies.

Definitely recommended for students Great ticket prices for students (4.80), regardless of the time/day/movie. A lot fun things to do practically in the same building, while waiting for your movie -bowling, bar , pool etc - on reasonable prices, except don't expect to get a bowling lane without pre-booking or a pool table straightaway on a Friday night (understandable, surely). As one of the biggest film centres in Edinburgh it provides everything you expect. What's more with 13 screens and the cinema not being in the immediate centre of the town, it's almost never too full, so you can always get decent seats even without having to endure the 30min commercials. As long as you refrain from buying from the much too pricey food/drinks counters you can enjoy good quality and service on a very reasonable price.

It's a cinema, in a bit of a clinical, not exactly character filled entertainment centre, which doesn't make it the most outrageously exciting cinema to visit, nor the most modern or attractive looking, but it is a pretty big cinema with lots of screens, and it's near town, so this makes it pretty handy. I attend this cinema a lot, so I really shouldn't complain about anything, as I've never really had any significant reason to. Cineworld shows a range of blockbusters and mainstream films, with basically any Hollywood or big name film you read about being shown here. It does sometimes show the odd independent film or a bit of world cinema, plus it always seems to have at least one Bollywood film available to view every week. The only slightly dubious screen to see a film in is screen 1...even when you're in the back row you feel like the screen is pretty close to you, as the viewing area is so narrow, so getting to the cinema early if you can, to ensure good seats, is always a good rule of film viewing thumb.

If you have the time to go to the cinema more than once a month, then the unlimited card is a very good deal.

There is a large Cineworld cinema, Pizza Hut, Nandos, a casino, Virgin Active health club, bars, bingo, bowling alley and a kiddies soft play center. I actually quite like Fountain Park because it is right on my doorstep and it has everything I need for an evening on entertainment. There is a large car park so you can drive here and if you use the cinema or other businesses your car park ticket is validated making the parking free. Free parking in Edinburgh is a bonus! You can go for something to eat and know what to expect in the chain restaurants before heading off to the cinema/bowling alley/casino. It's perhaps not as large as some of the out of town complexes you see in the likes of Glasgow, but it does have everything you need and something for everyone.

Anyway, I feel that this place is largely for the students living around this area as it has a massive Cineworld, a Pizza Hut, a Nando's and a Tenpin bowling alley among its facilities available. The place felt quite empty and depressing the last time I was in and there seemed to be a lot of empty space between the bowling alley and the cinema, with the main concourse functioning as an extended hallway to get between the two. There is an underground car park which is free for the first four hours but if you stay any longer than that, then you will have to pay money for every extra hour you stay there. I did like the bowling alley, and the Pizza Hut was pretty decent when we went to it so I suppose this place serves its purpose with one of the only casual bowling alleys in the Edinburgh area. I hope I will enjoy Cineworld as it seems significantly cheaper than Odeon and Vue.

They have a great bar and cafe area, which also holds a film quiz each month (extremely difficult). The prices have been going up quite fast in the last few years, so I've gone somewhat less often recently, but the cinema is great. I love the friendly atmosphere, the unique programme, and the delicious cafe options. Well worth a visit!

The theatre is comfortable and warm and has a vintage feel to it as the curtains open to reveal the screen. However there are no cup holders or much leg room but who cares when you can watch classic films like wizard of oz on big screen. The bar and cafe are great too although the portions are huge and a lot goes to waste the food is very tasty! The reception area sells DVD's which is great but it would be quicker and easier to find a DVD if they were displayed sideways instead of frontwards to save time flicking through every single DVD which is so frustrating and I give up in the end. Also the filmhouse has a sale of Vinyl records every month but there is no information in the filmhouse about it, no leaflet telling you when it's on, what time or how much the vinyls might cost, which I think would be useful in letting people know about events and things happening at the Filmhouse. All in all I give the Filmhouse a 5*.

"The film is in 3D and you will need the glasses" they man behind the counter said to me, "sure, no problem I said". £30 it cost me! £30! That IS a problem! You would hope the one upside to seeing a film at a cinema lacking all character and atmosphere run by a faceless corporation would be the cheaper prices. I could have seen the same film for far cheaper in the independent cameo up the road. Needless to say the actual cinema is pretty much like every other Odeon. I don't really mind it, you get to go underground which is quite cool. The staff are really friendly. Both the young girl who serves food and particularly the older woman who checks the tickets, are really chatty. Beyond that expect the same experience as anywhere else. It's lucky that its the film that really makes the cinematic experience. If the prices go up anymore, spend wisely and buy your own cinema.

Ok, it doesn't look like much but the 50s style 'Now Showing' board at the front adds character for what it lacks in structure. The red velvet curtains and gold-plaited popcorn boxes bring back fond memories for me, and was a novelty to my friends. It has become retro - not because they have slaved over the decor, but because it simply hasn't changed. The cinemas themselves are beautiful, the main one is huge with curving rows of seats. It's really nice to go to a traditional cinema now and again. They show all the new releases, as well as some less-known edgy indie films. There's something for everyone at the cameo. It's worth going to the Cameo to see that film that you were going to go to the Omni centre for . Why, I hear you ask? Why not? It's a different experience, same film.
