If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This place is RIDICULOUS. I was visiting from Las Vegas and we decided to take my grandkids to the theater to watch a movie. There isn't much of a choice here (which I guess is why they get away with their ridiculous policy). As I walked into the door, I had my purse on my arm and the first thing that was said to me was NOT welcome to the theater, thank you for coming, it was "you cannot bring your purse in here". I was confused and didn't understand and he said it again, you can't bring your purse in here if it's bigger than a piece of paper 8.5"X11"!! I still didn't understand as I have never heard of such a thing and asked to speak to the manager. She comes up and rudely says that it's policy for the safety of our patrons. I was flabbergasted. IF someone was hell bent on doing something bad, are they going to carry it in their purse?!? My daughters truck did not lock so I said I'm not leaving in the car so they said I had to put it in the office or leave. TRUST THIS, if I wouldn't have had two very upset grandkids, I would have left that very second and not spent a single penny in this place. I then told her she could search my purse - she then RUDELY says "it's not my responsibility to search your purse" you have to leave it in the office - so I had to leave my purse in the office (not locked in a cabinet or anything, just sitting on a desk. WOW I said I certainly hope nobody bothers my purse and she said they won't and I said well they better not when another lady pipes in and yells SERIOUSLY?!?!? To which I replied SERIOUSLY!! You seem to have a captive audience because I understand there isn't much in the way of a choice in movie theaters in this area. If there were a choice, I guarantee you would change that policy very quickly. I think we all know that this policy to "protect" the customer is just a lame, veiled attempt to stop your customers from bringing in snacks and not have to buy your overpriced garbage. read more

This place has always been great growing up and the friendliest service at any home theater I have been to. I can't complain.

I'm sorry all other movie theaters. I've moved on and and as much as it pains me to go it's for the better. I'm in love with Tri-county cineplex. Okay, so you may be one of the only choices in this are as far as movies come, but I wouldn't have it any other way. $5.50 matinee movies, everyday? Yes please, movie food at 1/2 the price of other theaters? Yes please. And all this while keeping up the quality of "big box" movie theaters. I believe the price of movies after 4 pm is $7.50, which is still a great deal, compared to theaters where I'm from costing an upwards of $12 a ticket. This theater has a preset schedule usually the same on weekdays and a little different on weekends. Make sure to check online at their website before you go. Sure the selection isn't as extensive as others, but all of the major movie releases will be here. Seats are comfy, bathrooms are clean and the service is friendly. 5 stars. read more

Absolutely my favorite place to catch a movie in the surrounding area. Screens are good, sound is good. Theaters are always kept nice and clean. Seats are large and comfortable, though they do not recline. Theater layout has a nice incline so your view is not obstructed by those sitting in front of you. Can't really speak for their food, as I rarely get anything, but the popcorn does smell amazing. read more

The policy of tickets at the concession is very frustrating. I understand that they did this to cut back on paying staff and to increase the concession sales but if you just want to buy tickets you are SOL. The shortest I have made it through the line is 17 minutes. I've timed it each time. Because of this inconvenience we go to London more often. Not even close is quality but I don't like giving my money to owners who treat their clientele like cattle. I suggested to management that they might have one register that handles tickets only I was told that that would defeat the purpose. But the purpose of what ? Higher popcorn sales? The best part is anytime I've complained I'm told that I could pay ahead with credit card and get my tickets from the 2 machines. Only one machine has worked my last 3 visits. Quite a line for that working machine. I also hear a lot of people complaining about women not being able to bring in purses. They claim safety but everyone knows it's so they can try and cut out people who bring in their own food. Pretty soon they will make us check out at the concession stand and be patted down before we enter. Even employees admit that this could be done differently. Won't mention names because I'm sure they will get fired Nice theater, good prices GREEDY OWNERS!! My advice, go to another theater that wants your business. Just left and I was baffled at how ridiculous this theater is! I have only lived in the area for a few months. First off, the concession and tickets are in 1 line so the line was to the door to begin with. Once my group got to the front of the line the guy that took our order was just trying to get us through as quickly as he could. We didn't get one of our drinks so I had to go back out from the movie to get it only to find out there is no line for people to get anything once they come out of the movie. They make you go back and stand in the same 1 line that is again, to the door, to get any more concession stuff. Therefore you end up missing the first part of the movie. I feel bad for people that bought their tickets in advance and could get in quicker because they would still have to wait in the line to get any concession food. Or the mom that is bringing kids to watch a movie because they may end up having to wait in line twice to get everything they want, especially if the kids could not carry their own food and drink. My sister in law let the manager know that it was ridiculous to have to stand in line more than once and he told her that if she didn't like it she could leave. What a douchebag! Then lastly, forget about getting an actual "movie" experience because they don't actually turn off the lights, or even dim them when you watch a movie. I am used to cities where you can shop around and select the best theater in the area. This is not a viable option in Corbin, but the residents don't need it! Tri-Country Cineplex is clean and meticulously well-managed. I get the feeling that the theater owners and managers are not just offering a comfortable atmosphere for locals, but helping to raise their youth. I have rarely been greeted with such professionalism. The teenagers that staff this small-town theater take pride in their establishment and it contributes to the overall experience at TCC. New movies, inexpensive concessions and comfortable seats. A great place to catch a flick! read more

Great cinema! Definitely not the closest to me but it is worth the extra drive. The theaters are clean and well taken care of. The concessions are decently priced and the variety is good. They always have the newest films at a reasonable price. I enjoy this cinema experience. Even the bathrooms are clean and smell good. read more

Today, I took my niece and nephew to a movie at Tri-County Cineplex in Corbin, KY. As we approached the front, I heard a woman yell, "I got one!" Turns out I was the one she had - a person carrying a large purse. If I had not promised a movie, I would have left immediately. She informed me that it had to be locked in the car. When I asked why, she said it was a safety issue. Sorry, not buying it. I think it's a concession issue. I went ahead and made sure my niece and nephew had a good experience, but it was hard for me not to express more of my thoughts to management. I realize it is their business, and they can conduct it as they please, but is their point to make up rules and enforce them, or to attract customers to their business? My hard-earned money is mine to spend as I please, and I choose not to deal with nor enrich people who treat me badly. This business has lost a customer for good. read more

It's no Rave, but it's about as good as you get in small, rural areas. Clean and well lit. The 3-D movies are viewed through glasses that lighten the image, preventing the darkening effect of other 3D films in some theaters. A bit on the expensive, side, especially the concessions, but I've never had a bad experience there. read more

Ok, let me start off by saying I understand why this theater it is the way it is. I get it, it's small, it's privately owned and the ticket prices are low. Awesome. I love that. But honestly, going to the movies here stresses me out to no end. It's just always been that way. There are no real queues for movies that aren't seating yet, so the lines back up into the lobby creating, in my opinion, a major potential fire hazard. It's ridiculous to walk into a movie theater lobby and see over a hundred people all queuing for whatever the latest bible based flick is, but hey, it's Corbin, what should I expect. My biggest complaint right now is the customer service. I realize it's not the fault of the snack counter people that they have to do this, and I want to say, I love the Colonel Card. Free small popcorn with your ticket? That's amazing! and you know, maybe some people DO abuse it. But being asked for your ID to prove you are who you say you are after having your name scrawled on the back of your card makes you look unprofessional and like you're trying to back out on a commitment you made to a local high school because a program you endorsed started costing more money than it was thought it would. That makes you look cheap, it makes you look petty and it makes you look like you don't care about your customers, which is entirely possible since you're the only game in town. If I want to see a movie, I HAVE to see it at Tricounty, contend with the lines, and the fact that some movies, I simply don't get to see because Tricounty is pretty conservative in their movie selection instead of something that's going to win awards like The Imitation Game or the new Stephen Hawking flick. read more
