The newest theater in town. I am going to grade this like I would a restaurant since they have food…read morebut we will lean towards service and atmosphere rather than the junk food. Atmosphere: Great new theater. Plenty of options for each show. Several different options for viewing whether you are a 3D fan or not. If u aren't into 3D then u can watch the movie in a regular old theater. If u like the best audio and video experience without 3D, u can watch it in XD. And if u like a little adventure but still not in 3D then u can sit in a DBox seat. Each of these options are available in 3D as well if that is your style. The 2 greatest features of this theater however are the reserved seating and the reclining seats. It is so nice not to have to show up for your show an hour or 2 early in order to get those prime seats right in the middle. Now u just pick your seats online and u r good to go. The reclining seats are just as amazing. Soooo much better than plain Jane. The theater temperatures have been spot on at every visit so far as well. I usually have to wear a hoodie to stay warm. Now just a long sleeve tee will do it. 2 Stars Food: not such a big candy selection but they make up for it in everything else. In a big way. Great popcorn. They have the awesome drink machines that u can choose hundreds of options from. Huge Icees. They also offer lots of snack foods like peanuts and chips. Same main meal type options are also available such as pizza, hot dogs, and nachos. All in all it's a pretty nice variety. Would love a bunch of extra candy options though. 1 Star Service: Always good so far. Everyone seems very nice and they are always extremely helpful. Getting tickets is easy and checking in to theater is also easy. 2 Stars.

Instead, I walked into what felt like a mall on tax‑free weekend meaning it was lively, loud, and full of folks with the same idea. Thankfully, I'd already bought my tickets through Fandango, so I was able to breeze past the ticket line like a dream only to be snatched back into reality when it came to the concession line! Now, the concession line... that's where the plot twist happened. One single‑file line moving slower than traffic on a Monday morning. I took one look, decided my peace was worth more than popcorn, and headed straight to my seat. Like a bad Monday morning, I decided I'll just go in later for the popcorn. The auditorium itself was clean and comfortable, which I appreciated. But then I met the D‑BOX seats...the $20‑per‑person motion seats I'd splurged on for both me and my husband. Let's just say they looked a little "experienced". Worn enough to make me pause and have a quick internal conversation with the Lord praying that I didn't leave with anything that I didn't come with. Luckily though, I did go prepared in long sleeves and pants. But here's the surprise: while those seats looked like they had been around the block more than a few good ole times, they WORKED like they understood the assignment. Once the movie started, they shook, tilted, and rumbled. It felt like a mini amusement‑park ride, and honestly, it made the movie even better. Despite their "well‑loved" appearance, they delivered a fantastic experience to the point I considered having a cigarette afterward...except I don't smoke, so I left with a satisfied grin!

I didn't take the opportunity to go to Stars & Stripes in Lubbock while I was a student as much as I should have, and after this visit, I feel regretful. My girlfriend and I took a trip to go see Backrooms at her request. The night we went wasn't a double feature night (some nights they show two movies back to back which I highly recommend), but I don't know if we would've stayed awake for two flicks! As showtime nears, the line to get in grows, so make sure to get there early to park in the best spots. We got to the theater about 10 minutes before showtime which gave us plenty of time to park our car, use the bathroom inside their retro-themed diner/concession stand, and order some snacks. For less than the price of a popcorn and two drinks at your standard theater, we got a popcorn, candy, a hot dog, a soda, and fried pickles. Their food is a typical concession stand affair. I wasn't blown away by anything, but it was all EXACTLY what I expected. The sun took its time to go down so by the time the movie started, it was a little dim due to it not being nautical twilight yet, but as the movie progressed, it was easier to see. You have a station to tune into for each movie, and it's slightly lo-fi and missed a little low end compared to a typical theater's sound system, but it's a drive-in, you gotta make a compromise somewhere. The only true issue was people randomly turning their headlights on mid-movie, blinding everyone nearby. Don't do that. Next time I'm in Lubbock, I hope to make a trip back to the drive-in because it was a cute little experience! RIYL: A little side mission to go see a movie

You can tune in via the radio station they provide, or rent one of their old-school radios if you want the full nostalgic experience. The diner is adorable and the staff was genuinely great. They were handing out samples of food bites (such a fun surprise), and they also carry classic drive-in treats like lemonades and milkshakes. It's very dog-friendly, laid-back, and I noticed a play area for kids as well. Bring chairs, bring snacks, get cozy, and enjoy a throwback movie night that still feels easy and fun. I'd absolutely go back.

Me, Thomas, Levi, Brock,…read moreKatie and the rest of the company that I came to be plunged on this journey with traveled across the film reel carpet to another theater. due to the movie having an audio technical difficulty, which was no one's fault, they did try to get it fixed (or did they? Dun dun). After our entrance into this newfound land that we thought to be our saving grace, our guiding light into the film we were all ecstatic to view, some minutes passed and then we were informed to make the treacherous journey back to the esteemed Theater #3 the place of our first defeat. Our fellowship did not falter, although we did lose a helmeted soldier, we carried on, we had to see it through. We settled back into this place we thought we had left for good and made it as homely as we could with our limited resources. Conversations of our travels were shared and laughter erupted within those walls that we thought no longer held any joy within. The minutes passed and passed but our resolve never faltered. Like waves breaking through a dam we were hit upon with the crash of being informed that they were unable to get the film audio up and running. Our hearts took the information with pangs of pain but in our minds we still had each other and they could not take that from us. We had each other. Though we did not have the shared experience of watching a film in the company of another we did share the experience of not watching it and being there for each other in a time of hardship. Maybe that was the point of it all, being there for each other when unexpected incidents occur. Taking comfort in a strangers company and knowing that we are not the only ones in this predicament.
