Just your average cinema experience. The popcorn is pretty good though and I always love getting a slushi.

Movie started twenty minutes late, they just kept showing ads. Whoever was operating the projector, fuck you.

They were out of cherry slushy and pretzels. And I'm not spending $4 on a day old hotdog.

It is the best place in town for sure. Clean and spacious. It is always where I go to see a movie in Abilene.

Best theatre in town. Of course it is little old Abilene. I wish we had an AMC with reclining seats but this will do for now.

We got in a little after noon to see new exhibits that had genuinely just opened for the season that day. The museum is very quiet and, thanks to road construction, a little confusing to get to, but it is worth the drive and adventure. As we arrived, we noticed that a wedding was being set up in their courtyard and event space, and we were in awe of how cute the space was for a wedding. On the first floor was the Gail Norfleet collection, where we were amazed by these multi-layered plexiglass paintings that added depth to her floral pieces and recreated rooms. It is such a unique style. Gail's use of color is quite impressive. On the second floor sat the other two new exhibits. The first was Focus on Photography: Selections from the Permanent Collection, which includes a diverse and vast collection of still images printed on numerous materials such as gelatin, inkjet, tintype, and metal, giving each image a unique display. As a photographer myself, this was my favorite exhibit. My girlfriend's favorite was the Cindi Holt collection showcasing colorful, prairie-inspired pieces. Other areas included the play zone that has the tower challenge and the history exhibits on the third floor focusing on downtown Abilene and the Texas railway. I'm excited to return to the Grace Museum next time I'm in Abilene when new exhibits are on display. What a cute and small museum! Old enough that the gold door fixtures to the rooms were significantly scratched and tarnished. When you drive up under the carport the dead shrubbery set the tone. Not only that, cigarette butts, and a carport that hadn't be blown off and smelled a bit like an ashtray. The door to the room,115, looked pretty dirty. Lots of smudges and hand prints. Bathroom was pretty dirty in the corners, missing tile in the bathroom, posted pics on the booking.com website where we booked the property for the night. Dead cricket in the corner of entry to the room. Just saying, the owners of the property might want to give the facility some love and spruce it up. Throughout our 18 day trip we end up staying at multiple Holiday Inn Express properties. By far, this one really needs some owner and property management love to come up to the standard of the other Holiday Inn Express properties we stayed at.

She provides an excel spreadsheet that covers the majority of your basic planning questions tailored specific for the venue. DECOR IS INCLUDED (and gorgeous). There is a whole barn full of western/vintage decor that you are free to use. This saves so much time and money! For those of you reading the other reviews about it being hot in the summer because of no AC, THERE IS NOW AC! The reception hall and all the back rooms are fully air conditioned! If you want an easy wedding planning experience and a beautiful backdrop to marry the love of your life (that costs fractions of what it would at other venues), Sparrow Creek is the place to go! I can't recommend it enough! Check out the website, she is very straightforward about all the information and prices (another pro).

She was quick to answer questions and sent tons of helpful information and checklists which helped me every step of the way. The venue is absolutely stunning! We used The Grove for our ceremony, however there are different areas you can use and they're all beautiful. The reception barn is rustic and so gorgeous in itself you don't have to use a lot of decor. Need decor!? No problem, this place has a plethora of decor you have access to. Kalli has a list of vendors she recommends and they too, did not disappoint!! SCR is not only affordable, you get the entire weekend. We decorated the day before and it was so nice and took stress away to be able to get that completed and not rush the day of. We were able to spend the day of wedding just getting ready and I, just enjoyed spending the day with my daughter. If this venue isn't close to you they have you covered there as well. Less than 1/2 a mile is Wildcatter Ranch and we had a wonderful stay there. Another plus to this venue is there are 2 bridal suites. We were able to get ready and hang out in one and the other was a beautiful location for bridal pictures. We did not have to rush around and clean to take pictures. If you choose this venue for your wedding....you will not be disappointed!!!

We wanted to stay in unique places and I feel so incredibly lucky that I saw this place!! The entire experience started off so nicely when Kim (one of the owners) called us the day we were arriving to ask about our arrival time so her or her husband Mark could be there to welcome us, and she also offered to make us an early continental breakfast since we were leaving before 8am the next day. It was so kind, but we declined because we were good to grab food on the road so we could get home. But that level of customer service and genuine kindness was a perfect example of our stay! Mark met us and gave us a tour of the BEAUTIFUL house, told us about the history, showed us historical photos they got from the granddaughter of the man who first built it. He offered us wine and coffee and the best banana bread I've ever had (seriously I need to email them for the recipe), and he even let us meet his puppy which made my daughter so happy! The house itself is incredible. Mark and Kim did an impossible task renovating it from abandoned nightmare to a breathtaking home that feels luxurious and so special. It really would be perfect for a small family celebration or wedding! Our favorite parts were the atrium in the center of the house that still had the 100+ year old birds of paradise plants that the original owner brought there from Guatemala, and the fact that their beautiful Christmas decorations were still up. We were extra lucky to be the only people staying there, so we really had the run of the house and got to hang out in their gorgeous living room to enjoy the Christmas decor and watch a movie together on our tablet. Everything was clean, the beds were so comfy, the amenities were awesome, the owners are SO SWEET, and Mulberry Manor is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed.
