I went here tonight expecting it to be a normal bowling night. It was at first we were having fun…read moreand so were the people next to us (one black man, one white man, and a mixed woman) . That was until the people next to us saw people cross the line you weren't supposed to so they thought it would be funny to do the same thing. It was funny at least for me and the people I was with. The other people in the lane 12 didn't, and they got the workers involved. They shut off the peoples lane next to us without any warning. They were confused on why, because they didn't say anything and just shut it off. They thought it would be okay to get the police involved. We didn't understand as to why they would feel the need to get the police involved because frankly, it wasn't that serious. I have seen many other people cross the line and police were not called neither was the lane shut off. The dispatcher came up to us and asked us questions but it felt like an interrogation for something that could've been solved with a civil conversation. He asked us questions like what did they look like, what are their names, and how could you not know much about them if you were bowling with them (we weren't bowling with them we came at separate time and just happened to end up next to them). After all the questions he was leaving to go look at the security cameras, but me and the people I was with decided tell him that it was not that serious and they were just having fun. So we pulled him aside told him they were having fun, the lane was shut off without warning, and didn't think all of this should happen. He then said that he was just looking into things and that he wasn't sure exactly what happened so they were looking at the cameras. We then left so I have no idea how it will end up, but I hope that it won't end up to be a big deal. Was this racially motivated? Why I think that is because many other people have done this and it didn't end up this way. So this one time this black man and mixed woman was there it happened? I have lived in Vernal my whole life and know that there are some heavily racist people here. I myself a young mixed girl have experienced it. So I would not be surprised if it was.

This is a charming bowling alley in the small town of Helper. You can't miss it-it's right along…read morethe main street. The facilities are a bit dated and could probably tell some jaw-dropping stories, as most of the buildings in the area would-if they could talk. If you're looking for a laid back, fun night of bowling, this is a great place. If you take your game seriously-be prepared for some oddities in the scoring (my son earned a spare when he actually threw a gutter ball, for example). Regardless, most of the patrons I saw were families or teens-not likely too worried about the accuracy of the scoring. In the front entrance area there are a few arcade games. I'll bet there is a heavy dose of nostalgia in those games-as most of them look to have been in there awhile. You can enjoy a small meal and even an adult beverage here. The service is also wonderful-just what you'd expect in a small town. One of the employees noticed that the ball my son was using might not have been the right weight for him and brought him a different one. I'm not sure if it impacted his game at all, but I appreciate them looking out for him anyway!
