The meaning of its unique name is " affectedly or pretentiously elegant or refined in manners or tastes." It carries eclectic, one-of-a-kind bohemian, classic, and casual clothing for men and women from around the world, including handmade frames, candle holders, leather shoes and boots, and handmade jewelry. The staff is very helpful and make you feel at home. It's a good place to find basics and the prices are reasonable. The clothing is comfortable and stylish, and I love the styles. This business that has been around for almost 30 years has a fantastic selection of unique items that you won't find anywhere else. I went to visit and was very impressed with the boutique's decor from the entrance area outside the main door to the interior design and distribution of their merchandise. Weather you are looking for something for yourself or a one of a kind gift for a family member or a best friend, I highly recommend you give them a visit. The staff there are very friendly and helpful, and they surely will assist you in finding that special item.

There are times when one finds these unique, little, local, businesses, that one had been walking…read moreby all the time, never bothering to stop to discover what's inside. And one day, for one reason or another, one desides to stop and go inside. This precisely is what happened to me with Artsy June. One day I was walking along the sidewalk of Market Street in Downtown Roanoke. I saw this interesting little store front. Read this verse that was written on a standing blackboard: "People will throw stones at you. Don't throw them back. Collect them all and build an empire." After reading this my curiosity kicked in and I proceeded to enter the store. The first thing I saw was a restored and renovated jukebox playing songs in the background. Then after looking around I deduced that this was a very special Gift Shop, that sold all kinds of artistic and very creative gifts, as well as Second Hand Vintage Clothing and Items at very reasonable prices. Among the items they had for sale, they had original miniature watercolor paintings signed by the local artist, small signs with inspirational sayings, some original and very creative pottery, souvenirs of Roanoke, an antique typewriter, nice wooden objects such as Chest boards, coffee mugs with saying on them, glass items, home decoration items, cushsions, some furniture, umbrellas, and second hand vintage clothes and items. What also was interesting about the store was that the dressing room was made in the inside of what once was a refrigerator room. A young lady employee greeted and welcomed me and explained all about the shop to me. She was also the artist of the miniature watercolor paintings. What a great little local shop. Just browsing all the items there was a delight. I would highly recommend those reading this review accompanied by my photographs to definitely go visit. And those artistic inclined individuals who might have they would like to sell to take them for the owner to see. Maybe she could include them among the store stock. Who knows, this could be the beginning of your artistic career!

Loved shopping in the store, so much fun and quirky items to choose from. I will be back.read more

From the day I looked into the display window of the store I was attracted by the uniqueness of their merchandise and the relaxed beauty of its style and free form. Located on Market Street, in the heart of downtown Roanoke shopping district, this downtown Roanoke boutique has a warm, inviting, and unique atmosphere, with very friendly and helpful staff and owners. As a matter of fact when I came in the store for the first time I was able to observe how well the owner and staff of the store were treating a couple of customers who were enthusiastically looking over the store's merchandise. Any of the items in the store would make a woman look gorgeous and bring out the best of her and her vibrant personality. When I introduced myself to one of the ladies working in the store, I was able to discover her artistic talent as well, since many of the jewelry items that I admired as gifts were handmade by her. Besides the beauty of each item there, what also stood out was how reasonably they were priced, immediately bringing value to your purchase. This confirming that things need not be extremely expensive to be beautiful and bring joy to your life. In conclusion, I encourage you to view all of my photographs accompanying my review of this boutique, and highly recommend that you go visit the store. I assure you that you will definitely find a beautiful item that you will fall in love with, either for yourself or as a gift. And that in the process you will be treated like friendly royalty, making you feel relaxed and cared for during the shopping experience.

This store reminded me of a small Anthropologie crossed with a cow girl wear. They carry Paparazzi, Frye, (no longer carry Old Gringo ), Brightly Twisted...interesting jewelry and imported knitwear. I'm not a much of a mall shopper and found this little store occupied my attention for an hour!! It's not easy to find interesting and fun pieces even in much bigger cities. My mom and nieces bought some earrings and I got a fun coat to go with my OGs. They had this year's trendy long fingerless gloves in brightly colored sock knit. Their prices are not low but not outrageous like some reviewers indicate. This is a small business not a chain. They probably buy small quantities of many brands / selections. We found the staff rather helpful and friendly!

I was really hoping that someone who worked there could help me pull together a wardrobe. I was prepared to spend quite a bit of money. I wasn't dressed that bad when I went in, nice jeans, clean blouse, and loafers. I was looked at by a couple of people who were working there but no one ever asked me if I needed help. I stayed in the store for 5 or 10 minutes, I looked at everything, even looked twice at the shoes. I was very interested in a pair of Dansko's but still no one would help me. It was like they were looking right through me. I have to say that their windows are wonderful, the outfits are just lovely. But, for someone like myself who is not good at fashion the inside of the store is actually a bit overwhelming. It seems like there is a lot of stuff everywhere. I am very disappointed in La De Da.
