I went to the Pickers Daughter last week for the first time with a friend from out of town. The…read moreparking lot is located behind the building and there's also a back door entrance, looks like most people were going in that way. Walking in, it smelled like Christmas, I loved it! I think what we smelled was the Emerald Tea room, there was a bunch of ladies in there sitting around a table. I'd love to come back just to visit that, it smelled amazing! As you're walking around the store, you'll notice that there are lots of cute booths set up with all kinds of random affordable items in each section. There's all kinds of different types of things in the store from jewelry, household decorations, seasonal items, pictures, kitchenware, clothing, pet items, ect all kinds of different inventory! The store is huge by the way it just keeps on going. The cash register is near the front of the building but somewhat in the middle of the store. Tammy, the owner was working the cash register today. I tried to make small talk with her. I know a couple of ladies that have booth rentals here so it was finally nice to go in and check it out. I did buy a couple of items, including a "thankful" cheese platter, little red mushrooms, and a wooden soap dish. Overall, it's a really cute store and I just might have to go back and visit again next month.

Draper Glass is a glassblowing studio that offers classes to the public. During our visit we learned about making those glass pumpkins that are EVERYWHERE in the fall (that I've been not-so-secretly coveting), and then, with hands-on assistance, we got to make our own! Jeremie is the owner of J. Draper, and she worked one-on-one with my boyfriend and me. She was incredibly helpful, nice, and funny. Jeremie and her associates have the whole process down to a science, telling you exactly where to stand, when, making the class safe as well as fun. It was so cool to pick out colors and then make my pumpkin, and I equally loved watching my classmates' pumpkins take shape. J. Draper offers all kinds of classes that cater to a variety of interests and price ranges. There are also dozens of pieces of glass art for sale at the studio if you just want to pick up something beautiful for yourself or a friend. I highly recommend taking a class at J. Draper Glass! It was a fun and unique experience that I'll remember for a very long time.

This is a really cool hands on activity and doesn't require guests to be super artistic. Anyone can do it with their help and make some really cool items. We made ornaments and sun catchers that will make great gifts or cool items for the house. I would recommend this for a date night, family night ( we had 7 people ), team building or just get together night with friends. No complaints at all. Not sure on the official age recommendation, but as a mom I'd say 12 and over.

One of the most basic things is guest service - the beginning interaction, the overall continued guest service while they're in your shop and the lasting impression that will be the deciding factor if someone will come back or not. I brought my family in and on a slower evening, mind you there were only (2) tables with (2) ppl at each table already painting their pottery. We walk in and the two girls at the register didn't bother to make eye contact, greet us, get up off their bums and ask us how our evening was... let alone helping us get started. They were more concerned about their personal conversation than working for the money the owners are paying them. Then basically they had to pry themselves out of their seats to get us paint... still no smiles, advice or anything. While we were painting they stopped at NO tables to ask if We needed anything or had questions. They just continued their personal conversations. Correct me if I'm wrong but they're there for the guests, not themselves. I can only hope they're better than that otherwise ownership really needs to take a closer look at who they let run their business. This is the first time and last time we will come back after spending almost $200 that night. It has a lot of potential to be a fun place to come and hangout but with employees like that, it was a turnoff immediately. I would've immediately turned around and walked out if it wasn't for me coming into town for a week to specifically spend time with my family while I was in town for a short time. But I was embarrassed I brought them there and we were treated or should I say ignored almost the entire Time we were there. When they wrapped up our session, again there was no smiling, zero personality and no cause to want to come back and spend more money. Debating if 2 stars is too much. Disappointing...
