I ordered a pothos plant for my best friends dads funeral. Two days after the funeral we picked it…read moreup and the very next day the plant was yellow and dying. Anker only refunded $15 on a $50 order. I'll never buy flowers from them again.

We have been losing people left and right! Three in the last week alone. Most have been unexpected,…read morethe work of a single moment, others just a matter of days. It feels suddenly like people are in a hurry to exit the planet and it is overwhelming us. This is one funeral we, as well as a few other members of the family, are not able to get to. I called Anker as they are located in the town where the funeral is held. I apologize, I do not remember the names of the women who assisted me. First phone call she knew about the funeral and had other arrangements for the service which gave me a sense of 'being in good hands' and one less thing to think about. She offered me suggestions on types of flower arrangements and price ranges and I told her I'd pass on the information to the other family members and call back. Choices include a wicker basket filled with live plants and fresh flowers for the family to take home, a bouquet in a vase to take home, or a cemetery bouquet that is left graveside. After conversing with family, and realizing many people attending are coming in from out of town, we chose the later. I called back and a second woman assisted me with style (cemetery), price point, reminded me of taxes and delivery fee (thank you!) and color preference. Both these women were *very* patient and sympathetic and so very helpful. I can't thank them enough for helping us. I saw here on Yelp they would send a pic and so I asked if they would text me so that I could share it (here, and) with the family. We are so pleased with this beautiful bouquet. The florist used a variety of symbolic 'funeral' flowers and it is a colorful celebration of life. I am very happy to recommend Anker Florist. The staff are so helpful and the final product beautiful.

I live out of state and was going to use one of the big business chains to order and send flowers…read moreto my niece, a gift basket to my sister, and a candy bouquet to each of my two nephews for Valentines Day. After a little searching I decided on a more elaborate plan, incorporating the three kids in their mothers gift basket so that the gift basket could be from all of us, so I called my niece and she told me about the one and only flower shop in town that we could work with so that's what we did. I called floral-n-flair to explain to them my situation, I live about 3 hours away, I've never been in their store, nor have I seen their work (their website is EXTREMELY basic) I requested emails of previous floral arrangements or gift baskets they have available and the candy bouquets which I was very RUDELY told that she doesn't have time for that (mind you this is 3 weeks before Valentines Day - not like I called last minute??) I of course got a bit snippy right back but decided that since this is the only option I have to incorporate the kids I just decided I would send my niece 14, my nephew 11, and my other nephew 6 to the store to pick out what they wanted in their moms basket with specific instructions to just turn around and leave if the owner was as rude and disrespectful to them as she was to me considering there wouldn't be an adult there in their defense. My niece said she was really mean at first but sort of started to lighten up when she saw everything the kids were picking out (clearly I wasn't going to buy everything three kids picked out). After my niece and nephews picked some stuff out I called Floral-n-Flair to clarify the items picked out and confirm an order, again the owner was crazy rude to me - I felt that I had a unique situation and have dealt exclusively with her regarding this complicated order, so naturally I asked to talk to her when I called and she all but yelled at me saying she was extremely busy and why can't I deal with one of her employees - which I eventually did and this woman was a complete delight - like night and day - But here it is I'm running out of time to get something ordered and the kids have already helped so I placed an order totaling nearly 210 dollars after the shipping of the cards (I wanted my own cards on the arrangements) and I expected for that amount of money some decent gifts. What I got was a gift basket for mom the size of the actual hallmark card I got her - tiny!!!! And not at all decorative or pretty. A BASKET of white daisies to my 14 year old niece - a basket... what are we the Easter bunny?? Is she a flower girl in a wedding?? Maybe it's a funeral arrangement? Or possibly my niece is actually 84 years old instead of 14?? It was hideous and not only was the arrangement in a basket half of the daisies were missing flower petals?! Poor Poor quality. And the kicker?? The candy bouquets. Yes. I ordered the small arrangement of the candy bouquets for my two small nephews but I think 4 pieces of candy and greenery in a VASE is outrageous. I could make that myself at the dollar store for 8 bucks and why did the boys CANDY bouquets have greenery in them and in a vase when my nieces floral arrangement had dead daisies in a basket and the gift basket was 4 small gifts in an even smaller basket with no "flair" at all. I'm not a horticulturist by any means but I believe floral-n-flair in Catlin IL is not only run by an incredibly rude and inconsiderate thief but she has her floral-n-flair completely backwards. I will NEVER order here again. Not for the price, not for the quality, not for the attitude. Horrible experience. Horrible. I would rather order from St Joe 20 miles away and pay for them to transport the flowers. Awful. I wish I could give floral-n-flair in Catlin Il a negative star rating.
