David and Stephanie greeted us with a welcoming and informative tour of the facility. They've accumulated a vast and diverse collection of things that go bump in the night ranging from; but not limited to: taxidermy, Post Mortem & embalming, ritual artifacts and literature, and decorative embellishments. Perhaps my favorite article of the experience was a beautifully vinyl bound gilded hardcover edition of an actual transcription of the Egyptian "Book of the Dead" made Hollywood famous in the 1999 moving picture "The Mummy" starring Brenden Fraser and Rachel Weisz. This is a real ancient Egyptian document that was written on papyrus scrolls and hieroglyphic golden plates that contained spells and instruction on guiding souls to the afterlife through process of mummification and the protocols required by the demands of the ancient Gods, Horus, Anubis and Osiris. I've found many books containing author renditions of personal interpretation on this book but never one that relayed the exact description of each illustration and proper translation of context. A rather exceptional piece they have obtained that is available for purchase in their store and online. I was not only impressed by their display and decor so much as i was also surprised to see their strong social media presence and structure. They have multiple multimedia stations set up for their marketing platform containing illuminated product photo booth studio as well as a livestream and video recording station for a more interactive and visual approach for online conversions. As a business owner and expert in marketing, I can appreciate the effort, attentiveness and care it takes to fulfill this level of ambition. The overall take-away is that they managed to take a regular steel framed aluminum warehouse and created a masterful business structure in the guise of an immersive experience in to the dark side of the world and beyond.

All of the employees are super helpful and very friendly. Their selection is so unique and they are very informative and knowledgeable about the history of their products. We came from Crescent City which is about a 45min drive away and arrived at 4:31pm and she claimed the bead part of the store was closed, that it closed at 4:30pm and claimed she couldn't ring anything up from that part of the store?! I do NOT recommend this place. If I could give a -4 star review I would but since I can't I am giving them a single star.

My husband elected to stay in the car, but after about 10 minutes in the store, I knew that he had to come in and see all of the lovely merchandise that Tammy has displayed! There is a terrific selection of gift items, household decorations, jewelry (I purchased 3 pieces), specialty foods, and much more, all at very reasonable prices. Tammy has been in this business for a long time and it really shows in the detailed selection of her merchandise and also in it's presentation throughout the store. The shop organized by theme and color which made it easier for us to see all that was offered, that would fit perfectly into our new home, Attached to the gift store is a bead shop. I originally stopped here to see if a couple of pieces of costume jewelry (that I had been carrying around in my purse for over a year!), could be repaired. The owner of the bead shop was not available, so Tammy graciously offered to fill in - she fixed my 3 necklaces for me, for free - that's old fashioned, GREAT customer service!!! This is our third trip to Brookings for vacation and I'm only sorry that it was our first time to this store. When we come back next year, rest assured that we will make a special trip to stop by Feather Your Nest - it truly is a "can't miss" shop so be sure to stop by, you won't be disappointed!

An absolute gem in Brookings!…read more Fiona Bean is such an unexpected and delightful find. The shop offers a beautiful, thoughtfully curated mix of gifts, cozy loungewear, stylish clothing, jewelry, fragrances, and luxurious body care. Every corner feels intentional, unique, and full of charm--you can tell real care went into selecting each item. Whether you're looking for a special gift or something just for yourself, this is the kind of place you'll want to linger in. It's rare to find a boutique with such a great balance of quality, variety, and personality, especially in a coastal town. The ladies that run the shop are incredible and have an eye for buying just the right things. I just bought the coziest dress! If you're in Brookings, Fiona Bean is an absolute must-stop. I make a point to stop in at least once a week as each trip I seem to find something that I had not seen before. So glad to have found Fiona Bean!!!

Luckily the first store we checked out while walking around was this one, and it's absolutely lovely inside. Everything was so cute and beautifully displayed, the store smelled incredible, and the products were nicer than your typical made in China tchotchkes that I hate. My daughter immediately found some hand crafted soap and bought a few to gift me as well! There were lots of oil fragrances, clothes and cute stuffed animals, in addition to kitchen stuff and more. We would definitely come back when in the area.

There was no sign saying I couldn't, and that's a stupid outdated policy in today's world anyway. It's how we share with friends, spreading the word about what we like. I was trying to get a shot of a sign I wanted to send to some friends and she walked up to me like I'm a kid and said "Photography is not allowed." (For the record I'm in my 70s.) I guess the logic is I'll photograph it, go home and recreate it, spending way more time and money that would make it more expensive than simply shelling out the $7 for it. Really? C'mon, use some logic. Because of the condescension, I left the store instead of staying and buying something else. So, because she wouldn't let me take a simple photo to share on social media, which could have generated some more customers, she lost whatever sales I would have provided, shot a hole in the goodwill it would have created, and generated this poor review. Smooth move, better to make customers feel welcome and let them share than insulted and lose sales. But, who knows? Maybe it's some brilliant marketing strategy I just don't see.
