Lots of trees for those who seek shaded areas and lots of sunny areas for those who want some tan. The park is well maintained and always clean and the grass is cut on regular basis. If a storm rolls through and tree branches break, it doesn't take long for the city to take care of it. Did I mention that it's a great place to walk dogs? There is a public restroom building with separate areas for men and women, that is the area that needs the most attention and could use the help of the visitors to keep it cleanER. Considering that it's a public restroom no one should expect it be sparkling clean. It is clean (to a point) and stocked with toilet paper. The covered party area has electricity sockets for your music and whatever it is you might need to charge and garbage cans are available all around the park. Please use those. Come and enjoy whatever part of this park tickles your fancy but please, pick up after your dog and clean up your mess too, we love this park and would love to continue enjoying it as it is.

Most of the people tend to use it for the walkways around the perimeter of the park, and the playground/pavilion area. It hasn't escaped all graffiti, but it's a modest amount (and from what I saw, it wasn't vulgar). I only have two complaints. Why have the restrooms so far from the playground/pavilion area? I guess it was for public safety reasons, but it's a bit of a walk to it. And this place needs more parking areas (tiny, tiny parking lot). Other then that, I like this little park.

This park is very popular. Soccer practice is held here. Soccer Moms are waiting for their kids to finish, in their top of the line Suv's or cars. A few dog walkers and some kids at the playground. We even got to see the little train crossing, just didn't know where to get the kids a ride on it. Porta potty near by. It was fun and for the splash pad water to turn on, you just pressed the button on the concrete pillar that is close to the entrance. We arrived early enough to grab a table that's inside the splash pad area. There are only two tables that have two benches arched to them and there are also about 4 benches to sit aside from the tables with their seating areas. It was definitely a good time. It's an enormous playground area, with a small splash pad and a trail in the back. I loved that some of the playground areas were shaded, which is crucial especially in this summer heat. Sadly, the swings aren't shaded. You can honestly be here with your little one/s for hours (when it's not as hot) since there are a lot of playground areas, swings and such a big and open grassy area for them to run around. This is for sure a shout to take your little one/s to let so if their energy out and run around or play in the different playgrounds and get on swings. Friendly reminder, parents or guardians, please look after your children, especially if you know they don't do well with other kids, even more so if the kiddos they are bullying are younger than they are. Don't get upset or bothered if another parent has to intervene, since you aren't doing anything and are just on your phone. Please be mindful and considerate of others, just in general. Everyone just wants to enjoy their time.

The largest playground is completely enclosed by a low fence and has a rubberized base. There is a large picnic shelter with a few tables underneath that was being used today. The grass and the plants look dry in gray But this is the closest one near me and I needed to walk my dog. I didn't walk my dog through the path because there is a snake warning. The splash pad is surrounded by a chain link fence... never a great sign. That being said, the splash pad itself is pretty fun. It wasn't the largest splash pad I've been too, but it also wasn't the smallest, and there were many different water features to frolick in. Texas is HOT and I support all efforts to promote outdoor play for children. It made me happy to see a bunch of kids running around in the water having a great time, burning off energy and enjoying the outdoors. The big negative for this splash pad - aside from the restroom accommodations - is that the water shuts off every 30 minutes for a 15 minute break. There might be a good reason for the break, but somehow most splash pads in DFW have found a solution to whatever problem has presented itself in terms of water usage. Shutting off the water and leaving kids sitting on hot concrete in the oppressive afternoon sun for 15 minutes every half hour is unreasonable. This issue needs to be addressed. The park beyond the play ground and splash pad actually looked quite nice. Lots of trees, anyway. I don't think those roads have been paved in 40 years though. With housing prices going up and property tax revenue flowing in, it might not be a bad idea for the city of Fort Worth to throw a little money toward the Sycamore Community Center Park (and Splash Pad). At least find a way to keep the water flowing.
