The splash pad is surrounded by a chain link fence... never a great sign. That being said, the splash pad itself is pretty fun. It wasn't the largest splash pad I've been too, but it also wasn't the smallest, and there were many different water features to frolick in. Texas is HOT and I support all efforts to promote outdoor play for children. It made me happy to see a bunch of kids running around in the water having a great time, burning off energy and enjoying the outdoors. The big negative for this splash pad - aside from the restroom accommodations - is that the water shuts off every 30 minutes for a 15 minute break. There might be a good reason for the break, but somehow most splash pads in DFW have found a solution to whatever problem has presented itself in terms of water usage. Shutting off the water and leaving kids sitting on hot concrete in the oppressive afternoon sun for 15 minutes every half hour is unreasonable. This issue needs to be addressed. The park beyond the play ground and splash pad actually looked quite nice. Lots of trees, anyway. I don't think those roads have been paved in 40 years though. With housing prices going up and property tax revenue flowing in, it might not be a bad idea for the city of Fort Worth to throw a little money toward the Sycamore Community Center Park (and Splash Pad). At least find a way to keep the water flowing.

We even got to see the little train crossing, just didn't know where to get the kids a ride on it. Porta potty near by. My only complaint was that more shade is needed it was a very hot day and not enough shady place to sit inside the play area. A bonus it is completely enclosed and has one gate. What a great safety feature. We will have to come back in the fall!

I'm sum up this park real quick for you (if the pics don't do that for me). Besides the lone pavilion this park has very little shade (though in 30 years you might get some shade from the young trees planted out there). I felt hot out there and this was a nice 68-70 degree November day with a cool breeze. No playground area. A cement walking trail (around the perimeter of the park). (also little shade) Some picnic tables (some with grills). And parking is in the streets (I would recommend parking on San Joaquin Trail if you have a lot of vehicles to park) Thats it. Hopefully they will get around to developing this place a little better, (but aside from eating lunch at the pavilion and walking very early in the morning / evening) for now I say avoid it and go to a better park (Rosebud Park isn't very far from this place).

Baseball field with bleachers and a press box, basketball court, picnic tables, playground, a picnic pavilion and a walking track. All of it in quite good condition and fronted by a large paved parking lot. The baseball field is lighted and fenced, including protected dugout areas and bleachers on both sides. Very cool. There's a small park, picnic tables, lots of shade, ducks roaming and you can go fishing or canoeing in the Lake. The crowd is filled with a mixture of everything. Families grilling, dogs all around, teens hanging, families playing volleyball, people witnessing. Lots of fishing going on. Summer time was definitely alive. The crowd stays all the way til dusk too. Also, they have really nice restrooms! It's a big brick building that has the Men's and Women's Restrooms beside each other. The Women's Rest Room was clean but, a little stuffy. There were two stalls. One was small and a little messy and the other was large without a door? Soap dispenser was filled and hot water was available too! My one suggestion would be, the path should lead to the R.R, instead of having to walk through the grass. The trails were alot smaller than I expected. They we're simple and surrounded the lake. The Park is also secured by the Police. If your family member has not returned from the lake after dusk, for more than forty-five minutes. The police will go looking for them. If your looking for a place for a family outing, I would suggest coming here. It's fun and safe!

A great space to put a picnic blanket out. And there is a play ground. (I didn't check how good it was but from afar it looked in great shape.) The waters beautiful. You can dock a boat or take your kayaks or pattle boats out, we saw some people do that. And there's great amount of shade. There is an area for learning with some air plane wings and a place to sit and chill. Walk a bit further and there is a waterfall. Wasn't moving a lot of water the day we went, but it was still a good photo. We walked out a bit further and didn't see anything more but an open path for walking. The main falls area is best enjoyed in the early morning when there isn't a drought of any severity, as it dries up pretty easily. You'll hear lots of planes on the nearby airbase but it's only annoying if you don't live around here. Before the pandemic, this place was a true hidden gem but it has become more crowded since then, even with the world's tiniest and easily missed parking lot acting as population control. I'll always love this park and going for photo ops but I miss when it was overlooked.
