I have a German Shepherd, a Doberman and a Puggle. I take all of them to the big dog side and have never had any issues. People are always so friendly, it's a ginormous park with some agility equipment towards the back, 2 water stations, It's pretty clean so you don't have to constantly look where you're walking for land mines - nice! Plenty of seating so it accommodates a lot of people without feeling crowded. Covered picnic tables, benches under the trees and along the fence lines. They always leave there totally exhausted which is why I take them to begin with. Like everywhere else it does get and stays muddy after a good rain storm but they do have a wash off station right outside of the gate so bring a towel, it's nothing fancy for sure but it does the job. I did see a couple of scuffles but like all good parents they immediately separated them and then they saw the aggressor and his daddy took him home for a time out. Okay, the only reason for the 4 star- a random guy commented on my dogs and when I asked him which dog was his he said he didn't have one, he just liked to come and watch everyone else's. I was getting ready to leave soon anyway so it just kicked me into high gear. It just seemed off, maybe he really liked dogs and I read too much into it????

The dog park has ample parking for your car and friend when taking them here. Almost all of the times I been here, there were really only 3 or 4 other people here. The park has clean restrooms onsite also with a water fountain. There are 2 large dog parks for large dogs as well as 2 large parks for the small fellows as well. All 4 parks are covered with green luscious grass and just about a tree every 5 feet you walk. So please don't worry about not having shade because you're literally surrounded by the best shade there possibly is and the great open outdoors. All the parks have benches to sit at, as well as cement bricks for resting. There are multiple water fountains in each park, disbursing water from the bottom for your friend as well. They also have doggie bags and trash cans inside the parks too! Every time I been here, all the dogs seemed properly behaved, and they definitely knew how to chase and play. I really enjoyed taking my best friend here and getting her all worked up outside and having fun while socializing with other companions. I'll definitely be back and become a regular here because Wooo Hooo, this is as good as it gets!

The best feature here is the walking trail that goes quite a distance and links up all the way across 35W to the top of the country club. Very, very cool. Lots of trees for those who seek shaded areas and lots of sunny areas for those who want some tan. The park is well maintained and always clean and the grass is cut on regular basis. If a storm rolls through and tree branches break, it doesn't take long for the city to take care of it. Did I mention that it's a great place to walk dogs? There is a public restroom building with separate areas for men and women, that is the area that needs the most attention and could use the help of the visitors to keep it cleanER. Considering that it's a public restroom no one should expect it be sparkling clean. It is clean (to a point) and stocked with toilet paper. The covered party area has electricity sockets for your music and whatever it is you might need to charge and garbage cans are available all around the park. Please use those. Come and enjoy whatever part of this park tickles your fancy but please, pick up after your dog and clean up your mess too, we love this park and would love to continue enjoying it as it is.

Most of the people tend to use it for the walkways around the perimeter of the park, and the playground/pavilion area. It hasn't escaped all graffiti, but it's a modest amount (and from what I saw, it wasn't vulgar). I only have two complaints. Why have the restrooms so far from the playground/pavilion area? I guess it was for public safety reasons, but it's a bit of a walk to it. And this place needs more parking areas (tiny, tiny parking lot). Other then that, I like this little park.

The crowd stays all the way til dusk too. Also, they have really nice restrooms! It's a big brick building that has the Men's and Women's Restrooms beside each other. The Women's Rest Room was clean but, a little stuffy. There were two stalls. One was small and a little messy and the other was large without a door? Soap dispenser was filled and hot water was available too! My one suggestion would be, the path should lead to the R.R, instead of having to walk through the grass. The trails were alot smaller than I expected. They we're simple and surrounded the lake. The Park is also secured by the Police. If your family member has not returned from the lake after dusk, for more than forty-five minutes. The police will go looking for them. If your looking for a place for a family outing, I would suggest coming here. It's fun and safe!
