Been a patient for over 5 years. Cindy is honest and to the point just the way I like things. She delivered both my kids and I have the utmost confidence in her. This place is the worst... horrible! Always over booked, they make you wait an hour from your appointment time. Nurse and front desk lady attitude is bad. The doctor never spend over 5mins with you because they are overbooked and always in a rush. Three month in a row she didn't scan my baby...said if I want to see baby I need to wait another hour. Yelp is the reason why we decided to make an appointment with this doctor especially after seeing all those good reviews. REALITY CHECK!!!! This doctor's office is small and congested. We had 4 appointments before we decided to call it quits. At every appointment, people were standing in the office with no place to sit. That wouldn't be an issue if they called the patients in at their appointment time. But each and every time, we were called in 1 hour to 1.25 hours after our appointment. So finally they call your name and you are relieved. But wait your husband is not allowed to go inside with you. WHAT? This is the only office where I have experience that. You husband is only allowed in usually after 20 min or so. Finally.....the doctor comes in and you have questions. You better be quick........cuz she is always in a rush. In our last appoinment, the doctor wanted us to get a test at her hospital. We did as she asked and when I called the doctor's office a week later to get the result we had to make an appointment only for her to tell us a few words of the result of the test. She could have told her this over the phone........but we wasted another hour beyond our appointment time to get that simple info. I WILL NEVER VISIT THIS OFFICE EVER AGAIN. read more

I "inherited" Dr. Cheung after my OB of many years retired and took over her location. Dr. Cheung is very friendly and takes time to explain everything you would like to know. She is professional and courteous. The waiting room is always full of patients waiting to see her. I really do think they need to schedule less appointments to avoid the long waiting time. Dr Cheung recently delivered my child. Over nine months I got to know her by going to appointments with my wife and every experience with her was excellent. When I found out my wife was pregnant I considered encouraging her to use a Lennox hill doctor my friends wife had used but after meeting her, I knew we were in good hands. The delivery went smoothly and we now have a healthy little boy. When we would tell other nurses and doctors that our obgyn was Dr Cheung, they would all tell us that we were lucky. I love Dr. Cheung. At first I saw Dr. Cheung as a second opinion 3 years ago. After my first appointment with her I saw how caring and informative she was. She went into great detail and gave me options on my condition. I felt comfortable and trusted her with my surgery. Dr. Cheung recently just delivered my first child and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Cheung is the type of doctor that will sit down and discuss any concerns you may have. I recommend her to all my friends and family. One thing that may bother people is that she doesn't have all the equipment in her office so she might write you a referral to see one of her colleagues. If I could give Dr. Cheung 10 stars I would. Regarding her as an OB I cannot begin to sing her praises enough. I personally never experienced wait times of an hour, and can attest to the level of professionalism and compassion she puts into her work. My pregnancy was initially "normal" and although our routine visits were short, she was always cordial and thorough. During my 20 week anatomy scan at the hospital, I was diagnosed with cervical incompetence and told by the MFM doctor that I was already 2 cm dilated with bulging membranes, who recommended termination. Upon hearing the worst news of my life, my husband and I went to follow up with Dr Cheung. From that point on, Dr Cheung became our guardian angel. She supported our decision to continue the pregnancy and checked up with me frequently. When I was hospitalized for over a month she would routinely come see me and check the baby despite her having residents that could do the work for her. No other OBs came to visit their patients on the unit unless necessary. Even the L&D nurses and mother-baby nurses sang her praises and many used her as an OB. To make a long story short, my beautiful newborn son is here thanks to her, and for anyone considering an OB that truly loves her job and goes above and beyond, Cindy Cheung is that doctor. I would wait for 10 hours if it meant having her as a doctor again. On a side note, to address some of the other reviews, I believe that she asks husbands/ partners to come in later so that the mother has a private space to discuss any fears, concerns or issues without having the partner's interference. As a woman, I can see how that can be beneficial to women who are in certain relationships. She always allows the husbands/ partners come in after the initial first 5 minutes or so, and I don't see why that should bother someone so drastically. read more

I will definitely continue to see her when I relocate to Boston, MA and when I decide to start a family. Cindy Cheung seems polite and very kind to her patients, but when you take too much of her time (more than 10 minutes) she starts getting annoyed and tries to brush you off. She doesn't want to provide education or information to your questions and would tell you, "Everything looks fine, don't worry." I told her about my abdominal discomfort during the last couple months of pregnancy, she would not listen or trust me. Did not physically examine my body herself nor did she refer me to any kind of specialist before making her conclusion that my body is fine. All she kept saying was don't worry, this is normal, you're fine. At the last month all of a sudden I was diagnosed with groin hernia and was forced to bedrest and stopped working. So I thought, this is the problem I had been telling you about for the past two months and you did not bother to listen to me. She is too busy with seeing ALL of her patients to tell you the truth and educate you the appropriate knowledge as a pregnant woman or new mom needs to know. read more

I wish there were negative stars. I was there about a year ago, she got me into a treatment that hurt me, she prescribed me a cream that no other doctor would recommend. This cream caused a bad reaction on me private area, but when I went to see her, she just didn't want to admit about the serious bad reactions that this cream is well known for, but she also made a wrong diagnosis, that even though the tests proved the opposite, she kept insisting she was right just to cover her bad judgement. Also, at the time of my visit I didn't have health insurance, she cost me a lot of money between consultations, pills and creams, she didn't solved any of the conditions for what I went to see her at the beginning, I walked out worst than I was, I really should sue her for MALPRACTICE. read more

Dr. Cheung is an extraordinary OBGYN. There is usually a wait for her at times since she is only open 3 days a weeks. People continue to wait for her so that shows you that she is a good doctor. She cannot continue when someone goes into labor which causes her to be late. She is patient and thorough answering all my concerns and questions to ease my mind while pregnant. I've been Dr Cheungs patient for many years. I had to change OB for 2 years purely because she didn't take my old insurance, and as soon as I became pregnant with my first child and had new insurance, I went back to her. BEST DECISION EVER. she made me feel at ease with all my questions (sometimes stupid questions since it's my first pregnancy). I agree with some complaints below about the wait time, but realistically, that's every doctors office in Flushing, expect to wait. and expect some cancellations due delivery babies, but it's understandable. she visited me many times while I was waiting for labor, even DURING her office hours. she comes just in time for me to deliver the baby. (I seriously don't know how she gets to so many places so fast). she visits me post delivery, demanding that I walk instead of being in a wheelchair. it was all for my own good. She followed up with me many times after a recent miscarriage, and calls me back right away after I leave her a message. I've read some previous reviews, complaints are all standard for flushing office based doctors. which is why I changed all my doctors elsewhere, except for Dr Cheung. she is patient, knowledgeable and never made me feel unease. possibly the best doctor I've ever went to. btw I never ever give reviews about anything, but I came on Yelp just to rave about her. read more

Update: I can not sing enough praises about this amazing doctor. I feel incredibly honored to have been her last OB patient. My healthy baby boy was her last delivery! & I can not be any more grateful. She is always so bright and cheerful, literally a walking sunshine I was in so much pain during labor and she not only held my hand, but even embraced me while I was getting the epidural. It was incredibly comforting and reassuring to have her by me. I am so moved by her genuinely kind soul. Throughout the entire labor, she basically rooted and kept telling me encouraging things. I'm sure she was tired after a long day at work, then having to come to the hospital to deliver my son- but she didn't rush to leave at all. In fact, she told us not to rush her when she was sewing me! I really can't express how much I appreciate, respect and love this woman. She is absolutely amazing. I'm sad for those who no longer have the option to choose her as their OB. I would have loved to recommend her to everyone I know. Of course, she is highly recommended for GYNO as well. As a patient mainly seeking gynecological services, I have found that while Dr. Cheung herself is a kind and communicative woman, almost every other aspect of this practice is a nightmare. It's nearly impossible to schedule an appointment--I've typically had to call up to 2 months in advance, the office doesn't call beforehand to confirm the appointment, and upon arrival, I usually have to wait about an hour past my appointment before I am finally seen. The doctor herself is so busy with so many patients that out of 3 or 4 visits I have never had an appointment in which I spent more than 3-5 minutes' time actually communicating with the doctor herself before she zipped out of the room to see her next patient. The doctor herself is competent, knowledgeable, and non-judging, but the way that the office is run makes it very clear that they are less concerned with quality care than they are with seeing a high volume of patients, and this leads to subpar service. read more

Highly recommend Dr. Cheung. She spends as much time with you as you need and answers all your questions. Never feel rushed and she explains everything. She tells you in plain Engligh what is on the sonogram monitor. From 1st appointment to post-partum visit, she is the best. When the nurses and staff at NYHQ ask who the OB-GYN is, they smile and compliment us for choosing Cindy saying we are in very good hands. The wait to see her can be long, especially if she arrives late from the hospital and the receptionist could be a little more friendly. Sometimes, it is standing room only in the waiting room. However, I would not hesitate to recommend her or use her again after dealing with less than stellar OB-GYNs. read more

Dr Cheung is such a great doctor that I am genuinely offended, as a patient, of some of these negative reviews I have seen as I am posting this review. She is super awesome and makes the visit great. She's also answered all my questions properly and accurately. I would wait a hundred hours to see her even if it were for just five minutes (@judy). I have been to plenty of other doctors and they've all been disappointing except for her. I agree with all the positive reviews that I have seen here and will continue to keep going to her until the day she retires because that's how good she is. Originally I picked dr. Cheung as my obgyn based on good reviews on google. I'm glad I picked her to take care of my whole maternity care along with delivering of the baby. She makes you feel at ease at every appointment, her bedside manner is excellent. I had a scheduled c section becuz my baby was breeched, she got the baby out within 15 min, then spend 45 min sewing me up. She also did my son's circumcision, her hands are so quick, my son didn't even cry. Highly recommend to friends n family. Dr. Cheung seems knowledgable but a bit pretencious and judgemental. you can expect to wait 45min-1 hour even with an appointment. also the seats are usually full so don't expect a seat when you come in. I came for a regular checkup and asked about an IUD as an option for birth control. I am 22. She told me that she only recommends it for women who are married and finished having kids because younger people tend to be more promiscuous and that it doesn't protect from stds... didn't even bother asking about my history, just assumed based on some statistic. She then gave me a referral for a lab. when the results came back the office wanted me make another appointment with her and wait another 40 minutes in the clinic just to give me my lab results. the results were normal, but she couldn't tell me that over the phone. Clearly the office only cares about money and just wanted to bill for another visit. read more
