This place was profiling! I've been to plenty other cindies within the city, I was in the area decided to try the place. I was greeted, then asked right away for my ID saying I was too young to be in there, the girl kept staring at my face trying to remember my features. I already knew it was not good, I had grabbed a box cause I liked it put it back as I walked away, another employee went to the box and grabbed it making sure everything was still there. It was obvious! I left because I will not be treated like that, they stared at me as I walked to my car which was right in front. Everything I own and had on with me is more than anything in that store. I looked dressed up also since I just left an event, I look my age in my mid 20s. But when I did go up to ask for help all I got was an eye roll from one of the employees because I was interrupting their conversation. So I just said never mind and left. Usually have a great experience at the store near bay says but decided to come to this one because it was closer. It was a horrible mistake. I was followed around the entire time by one of their employees. She didn't even ask if I needed help or word how my day was, she literally just followed right behind me the entire 20 minutes I was there. I didn't even want to buy or look at anything after the first two minutes I was there because she made me so uncomfortable. While I was browsing the cbd products the cashier was eyeing me down as if I was going to steal something. I talked to my girlfriend to choose what I wanted to buy and we decided we wanted to try the gummies so I took them off the shelf and went to go look around. The cashier proceeded to follow me around the store and then asked me if she could take them down to the front as if I was going to steal them and showed attitude. As a femboy shopper I was expecting a little more of a judge free, LGBTQ+ area, but boy was I wrong. At the time of entering the store I was welcomed when I walked in; however, after only browsing the wall of leggings on the front right of the store for 5 min, I didn't feel so welcomed when I was being followed by a store employee, who was short and had glasses( sorry didn't get their name). Now I didn't mind them as they crept around in the background, but when I found something I liked I turned around to finally ask for help. The worker acted like they where working by picking up what seemed to be a random order of lingerie articles only to put them right back. I told myself hey maybe they are busy and didn't hear me. So I waited a little more to see if they will be done but they avoided even looking at me. I made another attempted to get their attention but then they B lined to the back before before I even got out a word. Whatever right? I said fuck it imma go look for someone else. I then want directly towards the worker as they made eye contact with me I knew that they could not pretend not to see me again. Mind you I'm a very patient person but holy crap, someone's tone of voice and attitude really dictate what they're really wanting to say. I only needed help because it was really high up and I couldn't reach it without a tool. When I received the article I said thank you only to get back silence. I then walked around the front as I was anticipating on buying some cosplay. I took down this really cute kitty maid get up but seen it was 1 sizes off. I got that employees attention again asking if they had it in a upper size. They said y? In my head I was like why? Wtf you mean y?  I'm clearly trying to buy this.. but instead of replying that I kept my calm saying I didn't think It will fit. "Oh is a gift?" umm like no it for me now do you have this in a bigger size? They then said no they don't and then walked away. Like wtf?!? Cindie's is always trying to give customers new experiences ... I can confirm w/out a doubt that the Webster location is always VERY up to speed on all the products I have ever asked about. No matter whether they are questions or comparisons or recommendations, the staff has always, at the very least, a helpful answer to guide your shopping selection. They seem to be well versed w/the inventory, well beyond anything I may have known or even thought to ask. Even more importantly, they ALWAYS make you feel comfortable when sometimes the convo/question may be of a personal nature, or perhaps too intimate to speak out loud ... but they speak about those delicate issues w/such ease, like we're just having a normal convo & of course this creates a more positive environment & the communication begins to feel almost normal. It's a relief to know that I can shop there w/no level of uncomfortable or awkwardness. They are very good w/their choice of words & show no surprising reactions to anything, so I have never felt embarrassed for not knowing about "whatever" we're speaking about. I'm just very grateful that Webster is my store because it is a pleasure doing business w/the staff there. read more
