Cheeseburger and Fries

Followed our noses and the smell of bbq drifted through the air. What a great find. Started out with the wedge salad with burnt ends. Gobbled it up before I could take a pic. But so good! We are from Kansas City Missouri so we had our hearts set on some great brisket like we get in kc... and Cinder Bistro didn't disappoint! Wonderful Mac and cheese too! Had a great waiter who recently moved to the area from Colorado. Super nice and took some time to chat!

The food is always amazing! We LOVE the pulled chicken. The service is always great as well! The atmosphere and is very warm & cozy.

My family and I decided to have a late lunch here on Mother's Day. After being greeted and seated at a table, we quickly realized they were just 20 minutes from closing. Most places would have turned us away, but not this establishment. Our server, Jeffrey, made us feel welcomed from the start. Not once did he rush us or make us feel time-restricted. The food was fantastic, but I have to give our deepest appreciation to Jeffrey. You, sir, made our Mother's Day a treat with your kind words and patience. Jeffrey even took the time to get down to my son's level when taking his order, making the experience extra special for him. I only wish we could have left a bigger tip for this exceptional service. Thank you for this great experience. I will share my experience with anyone looking for a humble place to eat great food.

The menu will be changing soon. They are adding some new items

Ok, I was in town for the peach festival and on my way out of town I made a stop at a really cute antique mall. Well my nose led me to the Copper Barrel Brew Haus and they did not disappoint! I would take a drive just to come back here. The food was really good but what stood out the most is the prices and the service. They were both extraordinary and I don't use that word lightly. I don't want to take away from the food because it was really good, but lately it is hard to get great service and we all know in this economy it must be difficult for restaurants to survive so the prices have really gotten out of control. This place has managed to keep the prices affordable. Shout out to our server Lauren. She was so friendly and obviously loved her job! Brew Haus y'all have a keeper! My only regret is I don't live closer.

Decent. Heavy bbq smoke smell and taste, which is good I guess if you like that. Makes everything taste the same to us.

Food was good. Kind of insane that you get a to-go meal with three different meats and it didn't come with any BBQ sauce.

When I am in town I always check to see if Merle's is open and try to make it there for a cocktail. Not feeling cocktails they have a section of the menu dedicated to mocktails. Not just a juice or mixer with a dash of bitters either, they've put the same care into developing them that seems to go into the alcoholic cocktails. More of a beer person? Great! Merle's has a handful of NC drafts as well. My first visit to Merle's was in 2023 in April. The cocktails consumed were balanced and well concocted. The use of the space, which I remember visiting when it was an antiques shop 'back in the day', was well used and the patio area quite niece. Every time after when we would visit town my wife and I would try to make it to Merle's, unfortunately we kept lucking out! Recently I was down to help clean out my childhood home and the last day of my visit overlapped with Merle's first day open for the weekend. I decided to swing by and am so glad that I did! Not only were the cocktails wonderful but so was the conversation and camaraderie As an out of town local I was welcomed in and found plenty of conversations to be a part of. I live in Columbus Ohio, where we have a lot of places to get cocktails and the sorts but I will tell you what, Merle's is such an absolutely welcoming gem that I think about visiting even 6.5 hours north! There aren't may things that make me excited to visit or do when I am back home but visiting Merle's sure is one of them! You're guaranteed to find friendly folks, a great drink, and a lovely place to relax.

But I wiggled my vehicle into a tight spot and went in for a burger and a beer. I believe there were about 10 to 12 options available on tap, and I went with what was listed as an Irish stout from somewhere in the Northeast. It wasn't bad, though it seemed more like an imperial stout. My sandwich choice was the Cowboy, with ground elk at its core. It was a good choice too, and the accompanying fried onions and melted cheese complemented the meat well. I ordered the burger medium, but I think I'd go for medium rare if I could go back in time. The medium option wasn't bad, but I think a little less heat and a little more moisture would only make things better. I kept things simple with the side item, going for the fries which were of the thinly sliced McDonald's variety, not bad but nothing remarkable. The server covering my table was pleasant and prompt, though soft spoken so I occasionally had to ask her to repeat herself amidst the music and noise. I wouldn't call any of these selections a bargain, but the prices didn't veer too far from what you'll find in many burger joints. All in all, not an earthshaking experience, but a place I'd be willing to go back to. 3.5 stars.

We started with the pickled board, and it was just fun. A little bit of everything: pickled veggies, cucumbers with those pretty curls of onion, pimento cheese, bread, pork rinds, a little tomato jam. It felt like a Southern snack platter put together by someone who actually cares about balance and flavor. I ordered the pickled salad with chicken, and it was right up my alley. Fresh greens, great textures, pops of color, and the chicken was nicely seasoned and grilled. The dressing had that bright, tart thing going on that makes you want more of it. I would absolutely get this again. My husband got the Cassie salad, and while he said it was "fine," even he admitted everything was fresh and well done. The vibe here is relaxed, cozy, a little rustic, the kind of place that feels local in the best way. For a casual lunch in Boone, it hits the spot. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

The Philly steak wonton appetizer - incredible. The burger was one of the best that I've had in a long time. I brought over half a bottle home just so my husband could confirm the nastiness of it, which he did. My suspicion is that the wine I ordered was replaced by some horrible low cost wine that had gone bad. Will not repeat this mistake. Just stick with the water. Also, meat was cooked medium well, not medium and my co-diner had to ask for the black bean patty she ordered because it was missing from her sandwich.

Glad there is somewhere to go downtown to dance to non-country music! you have to walk into the dance area to get to the restroom (just like Joyners) but the inside has a dark vibe with some tables that light up and the alcohol wall at the bar is a masterpiece. There are seats behind the DJ table and I'm not sure why that area isn't used; the whole building can probably hold 60 people dancing at the same time.
