This was a good dining experience. The server I had, no idea of her name, visited often and spoke politely. I ate the 5-Item "make your own omelette" with all vegetables. Admittedly, I forgot to specify if I wanted any cheese on it so it didn't have any, but that's more of a customer error. If you're going, do know to specify cheese if you're ordering the Make Your Own Omelette. Regardless, it was quite flavorful and large, and the banana peppers I ordered on it (they give you a choice of 3 types of peppers) added quite the tang. There are also a lot of options for toppings when you make your own omelette, and a variety of food choices, from seafood to vegetarian options. The ambiance was nice as well, with the pictures and decorations fitting well together and making it feel cozy. Overall, I will be visiting again. Unfortunately, it has no root beer floats I know of, but it does have hot black tea you can steep at your table, which makes up for it. read more

Let's just say I'm a fan of ALL Cagney's. I've been to the one in Greensboro s few times. When I saw there was in Wilkesboro on our way home from the mountains - I said, Ladies... this is the place! I ordered the bacon and eggs plate with home fries and a biscuit with gravy. Wow! This was absolutely delicious. The eggs were scrambled perfectly with cheese. The home fries were magnificently seasoned with pepper and paprika. The bacon was crispy. And don't get me started on the fluffy biscuit and sausage gravy. I'd never had their breakfast before and now I want it every freakin morning! Lol. My friends ordered a variety of things. Including an eggs and cheese biscuit which they loved. The pancakes were fluffy and tasty! My friend also ordered the turkey bacon plate (not pictured) and loved it. For another friend, the French toast was the star of the show. Their country ham plate is a whole meal, biggest piece of country ham you could ask for. It's soaked enough to where it's not super salty. It's juuust right. Country fried steak is delightful. The only bad thing about Cagney's is their potatoes. No matter how you slice it, it just lacks flavor and any sort of crisp. Maybe the worse home potatoes and hash browns I've ever had. But overall? This morning we had the Spanish omelet and the turkey lovers omelet The food was delicious as always and prepared correctly. Wonderful ingredients, good portions, and good prices. We dug into our food and I missed the picture, but I assure it was good. Rave reviews of the Turkey lovers omelet from my nine-year-old Service was wonderful, cups stayed refilled, and we were treated like friends. I wish I could give 3 1/2 stars. Not quite 4 , but better than 3. They offer an extensive menu with soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, Italian, and more. The portion sizes are huge so sharing is an option. The food is good, but not great. Our service was very good as well. A very good value and a great place for families and groups. read more

If you use a Debit card they charge a fee & this shouldn't happen with a Debit card. Debit is same as cash. They want take a check either. I will not be back until they change this. They can do this with a credit card. read more

Cagney's has one of the best breakfast menus in town. The food is always fresh and made to order. They are very efficient and consistent in their service. Recently the menus changed and prices increased, but that is more of an indicator of inflation rather than greed. It's always clean and you can expect good food at a reasonable rate. read more

Visiting a friend in Jefferson and we went here for breakfast. Very open atmosphere, table and booth seating. I have to rate this experience as Oklahoma... not bad, not good, just OK... We waited 10 mins for a table on a Sunday around 11AM.... Ambiance is cool, service was good and friendly. The food - I had the chicken and eggs with hash-browns and a biscuit with gravy. My wife had the daily special which was pot roast. In general the flavor seemed like everything came out of a can. Nothing appeared to homemade. The hash browns were cold the chicken was like a fried cutlet and not a piece of fried chicken.... The pot roast was served like sliced spam.. Flavor was OK but no veggies or potatoes on the plate with the slab of meat... They pitch this place as country cooking but the food is sadly lacking flavor which we found disappointing.... We have driven three hours just to eat here. Then returned home directly for three hours. Soooo worth it. It's great in all aspects. Well, here I am again with another negative review of Cagneys. I had heard that the sour faced grumpy owner was out of town for a week so I thought I would go and have some country style steak mashed potatoes and green beans. The country style steak always comes with two pieces of steak. I was pretty hungry so I ordered two extra pieces of steak because I wanted four total pieces of steak. When the meal came, the cook had cut the original two pieces of steak in half so that there were four small little half pieces. I immediately called the waitress over and said that he had cut the country style steak in half to make four small pieces and the waitress said yes I told him in the kitchen that it looked like a small portion. Then she said that the owner before he left told the cook not to put too much food or too much gravy on the plates. When I paid my bill, the two extra 3.75 charges for the two extra pieces of country style steak was on the bill that I did not receive. I didn't say anything. I just paid my bill and left. But I want everyone to consider what type of owner on his way out of town would instruct the staff to make sure not to give their customers good portions. I would think an owner with that type of business and that type of crowd would say now you all treat my people good when I'm gone. Give them a little extra. Make my customers feel special. But that's not his style. Soulless. I've spent my last dollar in that place so help me God. read more

Every Cagneys Kitchen I have ever gone to no matter what county I live in honors my military service with a discount for my meal except Cagneys Kitchen in Wilkesboro North Carolina. The manager told me that he only honors Wilkesboro county veteran discounts on meals. Then ignored me while he took my payment. Good Service but the meatloaf is a bit bland. On our way back from a funeral on Boone, my wife and I decided to stop at Cagney's for lunch. When we got there, the parking lot was packed but it was 1 pm and the crowd quickly thinned out. Walked in and were promptly seated and our server was there in just a minute with menus. Must say we were both impressed with the size and breath of the menu offerings. In the end, we both decided to go with one of the specials for the day and that was the Meatloaf. My wife ordered her's with brown gravy on the side and mashed potatoes with gravy and fried okra as her two side along with Texas Toast. For my two sides, I ordered fried Okra as well along with Fried Okra and Hush Puppies. While we waited, we snacked on homemade Potato Chips served with Ranch Dressing. I guess you could say this is the Mountain version of Mexican Chips and Salsa. Don't know why I have not thought of this before but it was very good. Lunch came and my wife really enjoyed hers. I found my Meatloaf to be very bland with little flavor and while the Cucumber Salad was very good, the Fried Okra was somewhat under cooked. The Hush Puppies on the other hand were outstanding. Some of the best I have had had in a good while. Service was excellent from beginning to end and it was a nice open and somewhat whimsical atmosphere that was welcoming. Overall experience was average but I'm going to assume that there are probably better menu options we did not try and will require another visit sometime in the future. read more

Service by Leah was excellent. Restaurant was cute and clean. Chicken souvlaki and lasagna were delicious. We liked the greek salad dressing. I like crispy chips with little or no salt. These were to my taste. My plate was so full of food I had food to take our. The baklava was a good portion. It was better than we have had at a different Greek Restaurant. We like all honey. It seemed to have a bit of honey and a lot of syrup. I loved the strong cinnamon in it. We learned the manager just opened a new store on 7360 Friendly Ave Greensboro, NC. One of my favorite spots in Wilkesboro. The staff is always friendly. I've been very satisfied with every meal On my recent visit, I had a catfish dinner. Coming from the North, the meal was $12 and had 2 large catfish and it was amazing with the 2 sides. I always want to try the desserts but always full from meal. read more

Cagney's has the best breakfast I've ever had we come there numerous times throughout the summer on our way down from tubing down the new river the waitress was a little slow this time but every other time before everybody has been absolutely perfect I would highly recommend Cagneys to anyone. Cagney's is no nonsense Southern breakfast and they do it so well!! At about $6-$8 per plate you get more food than you can stomach and it is truly delicious. All of the waitresses wore masks and the tables were clean and sanitized. A great first experience in Wilkesboro! read more
