Service was OK server tried her best. Margarita was just ok, nothing special. Restaurant is ok inside, nothing fancy but appears to be clean with quite a few tables. A restaurant that messes up a carry out order needs to follow a few steps to make it right. First, have a phone number that works. Second, apologize profusely. Third, make sure that you fix the order. Finally, make it up to the patron for having to make a second trip to the restaurant. (This is for pick up orders, specifically). My pick up order was supposed to be ready at 6:45, but I sat there until 7:00 waiting. Then when I got home, I found that we were missing two entrees. The phone number on the website went straight to a busy signal, so leaving my family to eat, I drove back and informed the restaurant of the issue. They handed me one of the entrees in about 10 minutes, but after waiting a while longer, I found the server to ask about the other one, and had to argue with him and the cook that what I ordered and paid for wasn't in the bag. Finally they agreed to fix it and handed me what they insisted were two beef chalupas. Guess what- the picture above is what they handed me. It's soggy corn tortillas with beans, sour cream, lettuce and tomato. Definitely not worth the $15 they charged. Most of the food that we got was tasty. Not amazing, but not terrible. But not worth the $120 for dinner, either. If they had apologized, gotten the food right the second time, and done anything at all to make it worth my while to make a second trip for food I'd already paid for i would have much better things to say. As it is, I'm just disappointed. Go here or not, I guess. But maybe double check your order before you walk out. read more

So this is classic north of the border Texas Mexican place. Very authentic even in very minor details. The service is great and CV the food was delivered very quickly. So the food, somewhat bland. The salsa has no flavor. The queso fundido was very good. The chilliquilles were ok but once again very bland. The pollo was also very good but lacked simple Mexican flavor that should pop in your mouth. The Spanish rice was also in need of the flavor doctor. Service as I said was great. read more

Not bad. A HUGE menu to choose from! Which is not a complaint, but it explains why the descriptions were a little off. I ordered a Chipotle burrito & forgot to expect it traditional style, instead of usa style. Which was my mistake, but I was happy for it, as the menu just said "rice". Which another mistake of mine, I was just thinking that it would be plain white rice, & what I received was "Mexican" rice. Again both of them were my mistakes. I was not aware of how traditional the restaurant was going to be. =) My partner got the tacos de chorizo, which came with a yummy chili sauce on the side. So I stole it & used it on my burrito! =) The chorizo was the correct stuff, so it was super yummy as well! Personally I would have liked it to have been more spicy. So both dishes were delicious! Meh. Not impressive Mexican by any means. We came in because we had a desire for Mexican and it was ok. Nothing more. Several things were disappointing about our visit. First, it was VERY hot and they had an open dining room with no air conditioning, so that wasn't great. The second thing was while they have drinks on their menu - they do not serve alcohol because they don't have their liquor license yet. So when you go out of your way to enjoy a Mexican meal and can't wait for a margarita - you can imagine the disappointment when you can't get one. The chips and salsa were good and came quickly to the table as soon as we were seated. The service was probably the best part of our dinner and it wasn't fantastic, merely passable. The meals were also nothing special. I had a chicken burrito and it was lacking in flavor. Lastly, the decor is a weird mix of motorcycle theme, gas station theme, and other oddities hanging from the walls. A very odd vibe. Almost like they either didn't know what to do or just left the decor from the previous establishment and moved into the kitchen. read more

Another addition to sylvan beach. Open year round which is great. Solid American style fare- frajitas were very good and fresh. Husband had the beef chimichanga- large size and very good. You have to ask if you want it fried. Will be a regular option when not cooking at home. Only downside- no black beans to substitute for refried and not a lot of hot spice- had to add to mine. read more

Loving having a Mexican place in the Beach. I have been there several times and food and service were spot on. I had a garlic shrimp dish this evening that will likely be my go to it was so good. Guacamole Azteca is a great starter - chunks of fresh avocado with onion, cilantro and lime! Unfortunately no alcohol yet but hopefully that will be resolved soon as their margarita menu looks tasty! read more

Rice and beans are authentic. Delicious food. Margaritas are tasty ( and pricey). The salsa is good for low spice. Ask for the spicy salsa if you really want a good kick! Have had many lunches and dinners there. They could "Mexican up" the vibe in there. Confused why the Harley Davidson and not sobreros!! read more

The decor and paint is bright, fresh and clean with a beautiful bar. We were promptly seated and brought chips and salsa. I ordered a cabernet and steak fajitas. My partner ordered steak and shrimp with a margarita. The meals were served within 15 minutes. They came with rice, beans, tortillas, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, and sour cream. We love good refried beans, and these were excellent. The rice was also good. Both dinners came on sizzling platters, and both were great. The server and staff were very attentive and friendly. By far the best Mexican around. Comes with great chips and salsa, and good portions are large.

Food was fantastic, authentic Mexican food, make a great addition to sylvan beach. We will definitely be back
