Chips and salsa were complimentary. Queso was good (a little thick). We did find a hair in our chips though. Resturant was pretty empty. Just us and one other family on a Sunday night. It smelled heavily of cleaner when we walked in. It was nicely air conditioned. Overall, fine. May or may not be back

Staff were welcoming - Decor is nice...not overwhelming. We sat at the bar - bartender was nice and made my drink really good! As for the Chimichanga Bites & Dip-it was okay. Cheese was a bit thick, bites weren't crispy and need more seasoning. Chips and salsa were good :-) I will def go back for the adult bevies.

My parents had gone and recommended to us so we all went. Lady bringing chips very unfriendly but waitress was very sweet...but she had no idea how much drinks or desserts cost...and THERE ARE NO PRICES LISTED FOR THEM! The "house" margarita I ordered was great but only comes in one size...very big! And it was listed on bill as Skinny Margarita for $14. That was clearly not what I ordered. Oh well. We ordered steak fajitas and they were good, not great. Lots of veggies and not a ton of meat. Guapos does steak fajitas the best. My parents and husband liked their food but it seemed overpriced for what it was. The dessert trio was pretty good too, but again, we had no idea what the prices were for the desserts....why??!! Overall it was decent but not great. I loved the margarita and the waitress was super nice but the rest was just ok, would much rather go to Guapos for better food at same/better prices.

Unfortunately the only good thing here was the beef flautas. But they're filled with shredded beef, not beef tips like the menu says, and the menu being wrong is a common theme here. For one, soup doesn't include broth. Just look at the pictures of this $10.49 soup that was nothing but a soggy bowl of bloated rice and rubbery boiled chicken topped with some nice pico and avocado. I'm not sure how they managed to make chicken in "soup" come out dry but congratulations guys, you've achieved the impossible. I was super happy that they do flautas in corn tortillas because I don't eat flour tortillas or any dairy. And they remembered to hold the cheese and sour cream which was nice. But the rice is loaded with butter, and the rice was the biggest part of the platter, and the biggest part of the soup. And it's not even good rice, it uses that fake coloring to make it look like Spanish rice without using real ingredients...and loaded!!! with butter. It's not their fault that I don't eat butter but when there's that much it should be listed as an ingredient in the dish. The pico was good, but the portion is about a tablespoon and the same with the guacamole. The salsa tastes like an Italian restaurant made it to go over chicken Parmesan. The chicken flautas were so dry they went to the trash. Please check out my pictures of their "soup." I literally went back to the restaurant thinking they forgot the soup because I thought the tiny container it came in was the side of rice or salsa. I came again because they gave me a coupon. I got the steak fajitas. This was a much better meal than the flautas and chicken soup. I would give the fajitas 3 stars because I like Ay Jalisco and Guapos fajitas better, but they're the best thing I've had at Cinco. The fajitas would have been better if they prepared the meat differently. It was chunks of beef tips (which is what the menu says you get in the flautas but you don't) and I prefer fajitas to be thin sliced skirt steak. I'm not sure what cut they're using, probably NY strip. I would come here again with a coupon, but not for full price. The way they prepare the food, and the discrepancies between the menu and what you actually get out this place on par with Cafe Rio, but it cost 25-35% more. Seriously lacking in value. If they want to keep these prices they should do a better job prepping the food and portioning the ingredients. For example, their pico is pretty good, but they only give you a spoonful. They're shooting themselves in the foot by skimping on an ingredient that's cheap for them to provide. Every restaurant I have owned and managed I made sure the best tasting/lowest cost items had the highest chance of getting in to customers mouths. But here they're skimpy on the essential Latin flavors, and overload you with meats they poorly prepared. If they would focus on portioning a larger amount of the cheap latin flavors like pico and cilantro and get some better salsas, and practice better technique in preparing the expensive meats, then they could become a restaurant with fair value. They probably think they're providing this value right now because of their food costs, but they aren't because the customer doesn't value a large portion of meat if it's tough and tastes bad.

I usually don't hit places in the face's right away. But we walked in this place and there was just a few people. So we sat outside. They bought us the chips and salsa. The chip were hot and fresh. The salsa was good. My Jalapeño Margarita was just nasty. The Tacos had flavor, but the corn tortillas was just a little waste of time. The rest of the food was average, nothing to write home about.

1st time here, I had hight expectations for a Mexican restaurant. I ordered carne asada. It was supposed to be rib eye steak, I got a very flat skinny steak that looked like skirt of flat fajita. My steak was pale/cold unappetizing to eat. Rice was barely warm not hot. The fried beans were blend, no flavor at all, it seems to came straight from a can and no seasoning was added. For a drink I ordered from the menu a Melon Margarita, describe as a fresh watermelon flavor. What I got was a green drink, tasted like grapefruit. I asked the bartender thinking watermelon should be pinkish not green. He said even for them the menu is confusing. He did made a watermelon drink for me. I would suggest also to use appropriate dishes for their food. It's a Mexican place with mostly beef plates. My main dish was served on a long ceramic plate that it's mostly used for appetizers not main course. My husband got shrimp on garlic sauce. I was confused by the orange Cheeto looking a like color. Same long white plate. We moved to desserts. Churros needed maybe 1-2 more minutes cooking, it felt soo chewy almost not edible. Again, if I'm getting steak I'll assume to be perfectly cooked, well seasoned and sizzling hot. When I go out to eat, I hardly finish my plate, I always ask to get my food to go. This's the 1st time I wasn't interested to take the food home, I just left it there.

The green salsa was pretty mild and the orange one was super hot. The dark one was, I think, chipotle. I didn't care for the chipotle. The tacos looked great and were each pretty packed with ingredients. Pollo tacos - I thought the chicken was a bit dry and, because of that, disappointing. Veggie - The veggie were filled with cooked onion, mushroom and peppers. Although they were well prepared and held a lot of veggies, there was no seasoning, so the taste was pretty flat/boring. I had to rely on adding guac and some salsa for flavor. I was hoping the veggie would have some flavor without having to rely on sauces. Al Pastor - was very good. Guacamole - comes "market price". The side we got was $3, which I think was a good value. The guac was flavorful and was a nice portion. I am glad I had it to supplement the disappointing Veggie taco and the dryness of the Pollo. The corn tortillas were good. The place is nice and comfortable.

Push back on rushed service. Expect to be approached quickly and pushed until you order and left alone after your food arrives until you feel compelled to ask for a check and leave. Do not sit outside if you have babies/kids if you want your table to be large enough to fit your meal/drinks. -- Starting with the food, it's pretty good overall. Beans/rice come standard on a lot of options. They have a lot of creative appetizers. The guapomole and guacaviche are both worth trying. Might be a tad pricey for the portions and quality but nothing unreasonable. Burritos are a little on the small side for my expectations. During days when Rio is busy and dinner hours this place is so exceptionally busy so expect it to be loud. Everyone and their cousin has their birthday here and the wait staff are seemingly constantly singing and banging on instruments some days. The wait staff are exceptional for this type of restaurant- the reason why is likely due to so many experienced wait staff working here. And here's where we arrive at my issues with Guapo's and where it goes from a borderline 5* to a rapidly dropping 3*: Guapo's prioritizes turning tables over customer experience. And it RUINS the experience. The staff rush you to order, if you order dinner/appetizer there's a very good chance you'll be two bites into an app when your dinner arrives. Their tables are too small and too tightly packed- especially in the outside area. You can't really fit two meals, drinks, and an app on these tables for 4. Guapo's is a high volume money printer and it's become so bad I prefer looking at other options lately.

I've defended it, recommended it, and practically paid part of their rent by now. However, tonight I made the apparently fatal mistake of ordering **to-go**. The order was simple enough that a distracted goldfish could've nailed it: * One chicken fajita for my niece * A salad for my wife * A MEDIUM RARE steak fajita for me After a one-hour round-trip drive, we opened the bag to discover a performance piece titled *"How To Ruin a Loyal Customer in Three Easy Steps."* * No dressing on my wife's salad * No chicken fajita for my niece * And a "medium rare" steak fajita cooked so far past well-done that it qualified as charcoal. Honestly, my niece made out better with her *nonexistent* chicken than I did with whatever incinerated mystery meat they sent. We called to report the missing and mangled order, only to be transferred like a hot potato and met with a surly tone that suggested we were inconveniencing them by asking for, you know, the food we paid for. We hung up when it became clear the only thing they were serving that night was attitude. Needless to say, this is the **last** time I will ever order to-go from this establishment. After two decades of loyalty, this was the culinary equivalent of a breakup text. Do better. Or don't. I'm officially out.

What I realized in 2024 was the enchiladas and plates are kind of on the smaller side. When I think of sit-down Mexican restaurants, I think of hearty meals, but this wasn't so hearty. I was hungry several hours later that night in 2024. In January 2025, I was here for a friend's birthday party and remembered that the portions are smaller than typical Mexican restaurants, so I added a bean pupusa to my enchilada plate, which was excellent, even better than the enchiladas, which are solid. It was a little chaotic with the number of people there, and the awkward table setup.
