I like the breakfast muffin the most. My next favorite is the cinnamon roll. Well it depends what I am in the mood for, I guess. Their breads are a great find too. The make a great matcha , and this time of the year, I like their lemonades. I love their servers, and the batista is top notch. It's a cute lil place to sit at, because sometimes I just want to eat! They have honey and olive oils for sale. It's a great place to just sit for a bit. Limited hours so check before you go, and get there early if you are wanting a selection or something specific.

My friend had the warm cider, which was comforting and flavorful, and I ordered a matcha tea that was absolutely delicious. I would have thought that the cake would have had lemon zest as well to give it more lemony flavor. The cake was very heavy. Very very heavy. So heavy it was hard to cut. I did not take the rest of the cake home from the restaurant. That is how disappointing it was. The decorating was very dated. I did not expect cutting edge but what I go was 60's or 70's. It looked like a 13 yaer old decorated the cake. Bottom line is I should not have to order a wedding cake or a beer can cake or a yoda cake in order to get a stellar cake. Anyone ordering a cake is doing so for there loved one. The amount of the care given to the cake should not be determined by the amount being paid or the occasion it is for. Bottom line consider getting a birthday cake somewhere else.

We loved this placed!…read more It was very off season so we were waiting all week until Thursday when they were open to try it. Our large group of 3 families enjoyed breakfast here and the lovely staff were very accommodating to our chaos. 3 grandparents, 4 parents and 4 toddlers to order, eat and we all enjoyed ourselves. We all loved the treats, the food, and best coffee we could find in the starved rock area! I got for the 4 I was in charge of: 2 hot vanilla latte, a kids French toast with bacon, a biscuit and gravy, cream horn, cinnamon roll, and more treats I can't recall now. Highly recommend this cute little stop and if we are in the area again we'd definitely stop by!

It varies depending on who is working the front but more times than not I've felt that the service was cold/unfriendly/impersonal and unprofessional. I know they've poured a lot of money into the freezer and cooler departments over the last few years which in my opinion was the only part in need of fixing. A great deli and hot food items department and extensive produce selection. They ALWAYS have the best meat department with great prices on beef compared to any other stores including Hyvee and walmart. You might pay a little more for other store items here but that is the cost of the convenience of a large supermarket located close to home that is family owned. My only complaint is with myself for not patronizing them enough.
