He's helped me strengthen my knees to the point where I don't cringe away from everyday activities. The one time Travis couldn't help me with an injury with treatment, he still helped me. I had an elbow that has been bad for years. Travis correctly diagnosed me with tennis elbow, but I wasn't getting better with treatment and exercises. He referred me to a talented D.O. to see what was going on. It turns out I have a scarred ligament inside of my elbow which was bothering me which is not something that can be made better with exercise or massage alone.

After looking at my back and examining…read moreit, Dr. Culver said he though he could have me returning to normal activities in just 3 or 4 visits. I was hurting so bad I thought there was no chance of his being right. I stuck with the physical therapy exercises he gave me to do and while it seemed that I wasn't getting better I stayed with them. After the first week, I felt slightly better. Again I stayed with his program. By my third visit I was greatly improved! Three visits, one less than his original projection, and I was back to normal activities. I'm continuing with the exercises just to strengthen the muscles in the area as recommended. I give Dr. Culver my highest recommendation.

Doctor Shaw is the most arrogant doctor I've ever met. Beacon is slipping. He doesn't care about…read morethe patients and doesn't take the time to examine anything. His conclusions are formed before he walks in the room due to his arrogance. Basically, he says kiss my ass and pay me. Run as far from him as possible. Beacon needs to remove him from the staff before they get a lawsuit against them.

Dr. Kevin Shaw at Beacon Orthopedics in Fairfield, Ohio, seemed in a hurry or rushed the second he…read morewalked into our exam room. We were there for a second opinion so he had allegedly already taken a look at the original x-ray. I also wanted to ask questions and point out something I saw on the x-ray. He never looked at it. He talked over me, loudly, had a smug attitude, and was extremely rude to me. He told me there was nothing wrong with my sons leg according to the x-ray, but, as I said, I was there for a second opinion. Children's Hospital took the x-ray, and put my son in a leg brace based on their findings. My son had a knee injury. The excruciating pain was not a constant, and of course my son was experiencing it while we were in the office. But it had returned after the brace, when he does activities, and it at times is so bad that my son cannot walk, that indicates there is still an issue. Dr. Shaw told me kids injure themselves and it's better in a day or two. I told him that this had been happening since April. He shrugged his shoulders. I asked what would he recommend doing? He said "Don't know." From a professional, I was really hoping to get some answer other than "maybe." Dr. Shaw's attitude toward me was that I wasted his time, I was inferior to him, and he nonchalantly dismissed any question that I had about healing my sons leg with a one worded answer such as "maybe." I wonder what it was about me that he was prejudiced against. I NEVER showed any disrespect even when he did, and I never showed any sigh of attitude. I just don't understand why he disliked me so much immediately that he didn't even care to try an assist my son. He should be embarrassed but his demeaning, narcissistic behavior lets me know that, he won't be. I wasn't looking to be coddled, I wasn't waiting for the answer I wanted, I just hoped and assumed he would be professional and give me guidance for my child.

They very nicely told me for what I needed the total cost would be this amount, ($230.00) if I paid in full that day. The Dr. himself even noticed that i did not have insurance and also said the same, and my mother and I were both there to verify. At the end of the appointment(a couple of x-rays) I paid the full amount. A few weeks later I get a bill for another good amount of money. I called the office and was told flat out that not only I was a liar, but my mother who was also there when the conversation happened was also lying. So she stated I had no choice but to pay the additional bill. She would not even listen to any details about the conversations we had at the office! Why would I have paid the full amount that day if they were going to bill me for that and more! My husband said to not pay it and we will go see them, but I am not that type of person so I just started making payments on every bill they sent each month-on time every time! I then get a nasty letter saying they are sending me to collections for the remaining $53.00 I owe them, and I have never missed 1 month of payments-never! It stated they can basically ruin me and "you would not want that to happen". That really upset me so I wrote them a letter and told them how I have been paying this bill every month for something that I do not even owe-and now you send me a nasty collections letter for the last $53.00??? I paid them the $53.00 of the "made up" bill and just know to never go there again. I would not trust this place for any medical affairs at all-they are as dis-honest as they come. If they cant even do their billing honestly, who knows what the rest of the service is like! This office must work on commission and I guess someone wanted a bonus.
