My husband and I went to St. Elizabeth this morning for a routine wellness check. We both are…read moreguilty of just going to urgent cares so it was time we "adulted" and found a primary care doctor. We set up an appointment with Gandola. The facility is nice, clean and seems super new. Since our appointment was super early 8:30 and 8:45. We got our paperwork filled out and were seen as soon as we finished. We went in separately for consultations. Mine took a bit and I didn't actually get in until around 9:30 which was unexpected. Luckily I work from home so my schedule wasn't thrown out of whack - just know as always - things at the doctor can get pushed super far back. The plus side to this? Dr. Gandola was very thorough on getting to know us both. Since the only experience I had with doctors growing up was always very cold and sterile (hence why I am terrified of going to the doctors now) I was almost put off by how nice and charming Dr. Gandola was. He was asking me HOW I WAS?! And what I do for work. What I do for fun. In my head I was like ... "What, why, am I dying? Who cares what I do for fun, why does this matter. Take my blood, let me pass out, and let's get this nightmare over with." Turns out, not all doctors are terrifying. Today he took all of my vitals, did the routine check and ordered the standard tests for a physical - and turns out I AM SUPER HEALTHY! Wahooo! Which is also scary. How. How am I so blessed and so lucky? When others get taken from us so early in life? I've always questioned the reasoning behind who and what happens health-wise and why. So far, I've been lucky. And I am excited that I finally took the plunge to find a doctor I can go back to and that I can trust. This doc has also been in the biz for 40+ years. After we saw him, we went down to reception on the first floor to register for the lab. We were taken back to the lab area, got our blood taken for the tests, and were in and out of the lab in no joke - 10 minutes. We were utterly SHOCKED! Thank god we went right away and didn't wait to come back (that was an option). And just so everyone knows, the nurse was A++ this was the first time in 29 years of living I didn't pass out/have a crying, panic attack while giving blood. My husband also has a hard time and we both did great. One try, less than a minute with the needle in and we were done! The nurse was incredible. ANOTHER HUGE PLUS -- you can register for a profile online where you can share and see info with your doctor. You can see what your results are, what you need to work on, what you have coming up, and even see the doctor's BOOK! Finally you can book appts online. Huge win. Overall, I highly reccomend Dr. Gondola. He said we could usually get same day appts and register online. Hell yes for great availability and open communication. Who knew going to the doctor could be so easy? I'm floored. Go and see him!

Let me make everyone very aware of this office and the way they treat their patients. My husband…read morehas been a 10 plus year patient of Dr Cavitt. He has epilepsy. He has been seizure free and keeps up on medications and visits with her. He randomly had a seizure a week ago. We have NOT been contacted once from her office. I have called every single day since Sunday while I was following the ambulance to the emergency room, at least 4 times and left multiple messages with her so called medical assistants and clinical staff to please call me back. We have not been told his lab results, his medication blood levels. Nothing!!!!!! Her "medical assistant" wrote us one Note on my chart on Wednesday stating if patient just had a seizure he should not report to work. ? Now let me fast forward you to today , a week later and my husband has another seizure!!!!!! And guess what! We still know nothing. And I cannot get DR CAVITT to call me back. I have had to call public relations numerous times, I've tried calling other neurologists to get him seen but he can't be seen until she releases him as a patient. Well come to find out she's having a grand old time on vacation and she's clueless about any of this going on. Because her and her so called 5 star medical office are illiterate at relaying messages to one another and are incompetent at taking care of their patients. So here we sit yet again another week of my husband out of work with a broken shoulder , a busted up face , no answers, no neurologist, and no job this week. Here's another kicker sweet dr cavitt. We have a medically handicapped daughter that I have to stay home and take care of 24/7. So we depend on my husbands income. Which you'd would see in one of the 36296593 notes I left with your outstanding medical staff. Please beware when you are looking for a neurologist that you want to trust with your loved ones life. Because this one right here folks is not it.

For medical care they do not provide or cannot provide, they generally will outsource you to the university of Cincinnati Medical Center, or whatever hospital that is located near you. I have never received bad care from them and they seem to have top-notch doctors in place. I know this is not everybody's experience, but it has been mine over the years. Nothing but positive.

I was here today for my neurologist appointment, as normal I am early because I am that way. Parking can be a pain but they are working on that, and the hospital is a wee dated. By this I mean you can still see the old mail shoots going from floor to floor in the main corridor near the elevators. But this doesn't make it a bad place. I have been here many times and the only issue I have had has been the free WiFi doesn't seem to work. It is basically mint working. At least for everything I have tried. I got here for my appointment and sat down after grabbing a coffee in the lobby and checking in at the desk. I was overheating people complaining the dr was running behind schedule. Well since I have been seeing the dr for a few years and this is the first time this has happened I have no issues. Heck take care of the customer in front of you. So I got to see my dr maybe 30-45 minutes late. That happens, heck it is free! Okay it did cost but not money. All went well. So why only 4 stars. Well I did make the mistake of trying to eat a to go burger in the cafe. Huge mistake. I have had better meals at sea in the forward galley and all they ever served was chicken patties and ketchup with no bun. Take it from me. Don't eat the wrapped burger.
