I came in and was greeted by Larry. I'm fairly young but I've been smoking for a little over 4 years. Larry asked me what I like and I told him and I think he was surprised of what I knew. I told him I was looking for a certain brand but didn't see it. A Plasencia. He said I have it follow me he took me to his storage humidor and man I was star struck on how much more selection he had. I mean it was full of cigar and all I was saying "oh you have this and that. I ended up with two recommendations and two new ones that I've been trying to find and he had them! It's awesome when you go to a place where u can tell he loves what he does. It's like he has a business that's a hobby and that he enjoys doing. I found Cigar Time on yelp and decided to check it. Larry, the owner, ended up helping me out. He was pretty cool and very knowledgeable about the cigars he carries. I've read some of the other reviews here on Yelp and I get why some people are turned off by Larry's demeanor but I recommend that you have a little patience and give the guy a chance. If you're looking for a Walmart cigar and Walmart experience, go to Walmart. If you want a wide selection of really good cigars at reasonable prices and guy a that knows his stuff, Cigar Time is your spot. Sorry, no Swisher Sweets here folks! The place has a vibe that kind of reminds me of my grandfather's living room, it seems disorganized but Larry knows where everything is at (sort of like me with my home office). I ended up with 4 Avo cigars that I plan on sharing with friends and travel humidor. I will be back in the future any time I'm in need of quality cigars. read more

Looking for that place to step back in time and enjoy a good cigar with a great selection of men go no further than this place. The outside is not much and can be hard to see. The Uber driver missed and almost drove by but the entrance is down a little bit. The inside is full of old leather chars and the sides are full of cigars old cigar box's and many antique clocks. What was most interesting was one could look around the room and think you have seen everything and then look at an area and realized you did not see that before. Larry is great but a little rough around the edges but really a knowable and nice proprietor. He made myself and son feel welcome and the other customers are interested and very inviting. My son now has a great burn of men to hang out with. It could be any mans ultimate man cave that he doesn't have to maintain but can hang out in. read more

As a brand new smoker I came into this with great intentions from reading the other reviews but I honestly can say I was mislead once walking in. Walked into the shop and was looking for the owner or someone that could possibly help me and some friends out with some cigars. But found a group of people just in a circle enjoying their smokes and then finally one of the slowly got up with the "greatest" enthusiasm to help us. But it was not even a fair bit of help that he offered. Just answered our "new cigar smokers" recommendation with a stick and told us "there you go, knock yourselves out". No information about it, no other recommendations, nothing else. Was hoping to receive a little more help than that but hey I guess not all shops are going to be as helpful. Not visiting again anytime soon and neither should any new cigar smokers looking to get into the hobby. I'd rather drive farther to get a better experience. read more

I would not recommend this store. I walked in and noticed that all the shelves were empty. There were cigar boxes and cardboard boxes all over the floor, some with open cigar boxes sitting on top of cardboard boxes. Hard to tell if there was a humidor in this (massive) place. There was no one at the cash register, and a bunch of people sitting towards the back of the store smoking. I walked up to them, and one of them reluctantly got out of his seat, only to ask me what I wanted. He didn't seem too happy to make a sale, guess he's got his regulars. Anyway, the cigars he gave me were from boxes that were just sitting out in the open. They turned out to be dry, and had clearly not seen a humidor in a while. Find another store that has a cigars in a humidor and a less grumpy proprietor. read more

I TRUELY hope this posting won't be deleted, as I noticed the other comment addressing these issues was deleted. I'm one of the regulars here, saw the posting of someone complaining. The lack of cigars in stock and a mold issues are lies and not true. To the individual who made the complaint... If you had really stepped into this establishment, the shelves here are filled with cigars, if not than hundreds of full cigar boxes are visible to the naked eye. There's more cigars here than the average cigar shops in ALL OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. To say there are no cigars or lack of cigars is FALSE. Now this last bit of knowledge is well known to all cigar smokers worldwide... Plume and mold are 2 different issues. The issue you're describing is Plume. Plume is the white build up you were describing. Mold is when you have actual colors such as green, on the cigar leaf. Major difference between WHITE and GREEN. To end your complaint with plugging in a new cigar shop that just so happen to open down the street is kind of fishy. read more

I get there and saw about ten men sitting in the lounge area getting ready to eat some pizza and watch UFC. It's a low lit shop but it's an interesting place if you look around. There's a lot of old metal cigar signage on the walls. I saw some old wall clocks. An old barber pole. The guy I dealt with must have been the owner. Big guy that does resemble a mafia dude. He was pretty hospitable. I ended up picking up a box of Romeo Y Julieta. I hope my buddy enjoys them. read more

I'm a beginner cigar smoker. I've smoked cigars in the past and I was neutral on it. But then I heard Dennis Prager on Louder with Crowder and I decided to give it another go. This shop has an unassuming entrance that opens to a spacious room with big comfortable couches and a wall to wall array of vintage clocks and signs. In the far end of the room was a group of guys puffing away, enjoying the baseball game. I was greeted and I walked over. I said I was just getting into this whole thing and was looking for some recommendations. Larry showed me what was up and handed me a cigar that he felt I would enjoy. He was right. So right. I sat down in a lonely corner, silently smoking when I was invited to join that larger group. I was introduced and I felt welcome to sit and enjoy. This cigar shop is different, and I mean in a good way. I've slowed down on my cigar consumption over the years, so my visits are infrequent, but always the same. I walk in and look around. The owner asks if I need help. I always do and he always delivers. His walls are humidors. His selection is impressive and his knowledge of his products is unsurpassed. I always leave satisfied. On my most recent visit I was hunting for a brand I had not yet smoked and he guided me to the cigar that best fits my profile, an Aquitaine. I'm enjoying it now. The shop has a lounge too. Every time I've set foot in the place the chairs are full of regulars enjoying a smoke and the owner is usually smoking one too. On my last visit, I mentioned that I was looking for a cigar I had seen on YouTube. I took a little good natured ribbing over it, but I felt welcomed. This place is special. read more

And seeing I have a toddler and I am pregnant he actually asked me to move my car seeing obviously that it is going to be difficult for me to do so. I rarely put negative reviews but this time around I have to. The custom service was horrible. I walked in and greeted the guys in the seating area smoking. While I was looking for my regular cigar, an older gentleman looked at me and said "what do you want?" I didn't realize that one of the men sitting in the smoking area was the clerk. I politely said which cigar I was looking for, he without any word got up and went into the back. I waited about 5-10 minutes and he didn't return. I figured he couldn't find anything, so I continued to look around. A while later he rudely yelled from the other end of the store, "Hey kid, you buying this or not?" The entire encounter was as if I was inconveniencing the store clerk. I've been enjoying cigars for years and have been to a lot of lounges. I understand if it's a busy night or you have inventory to do but this was outright disrespectful. To store was in disarray, random boxes of cigars were scattered out of the cases and look like there was no organization. I'm sorry but this place gets only a half a star in my book. read more

I found this place on yelp, and wanted to stop in and pick up a few cigars for an event I was having. I wanted to get a good selection, but I am not a connoisseur by any means. I was greeted by Larry the owner and I explained what I was looking for and he took me around the shop and describe the different cigars he had and their flavor, boldness etc. I learned a lot for the time I was in there and ended up leaving with about 15 different cigars and a travel humidor to store them in. The cigars were amazing, each one a different flavor and were a hit by everyone st the event. This is my new Cigar place, and will be coming back to sit in with Larry and smoke a cigar in the shop. This is a truly a great find! Was in LA for meetings and had a 2-hour window, found Cigar Time through Yelp. From the outside, Cigar Time is very unassuming, but once I walk into the lounge, I realized this is a true man's cave and a cigar lover's heaven! With wall to wall humidors of cigars, the memorabilia in the lounge, the wide dark leather sofa, Larry and other old timer greeting you like an old friend with their wise cracks. I enjoyed every moment of smoking a Davidoff Aniversario No. 3 at Cigar Time and will make this as a must stop in my future LA visit. read more

Great owner. Nice Place. I rolled in this afternoon looking for my usual smoke for the weekend, "La Gloria Cubana" series. Great cigar. Anyway the shop was really nice, a little smokey and well worn but lots of character. I must have been there in between stocking up because most of the boxes on display were either empty or had old cigars with mold. Undaunted, I pressed on and spied my favs resting comfortably nearby. The owner came out of his office asking if he could help. He was very nice and approachable and suggested I try a new series that had just come in. Delicious! It's a fun place to watch the game and enjoy a cigar, although they don't sell alcohol there. The owner is a pretty cool guy. Not the friendliest but he's just a no-bs type of person. He knows his cigars, and makes some pretty good recommendations. I like the interior of the place, as it has a lot of antique-type stuff. There aren't many other alternatives in the area either.
