Alright, I'm going to start by saying I've been coming here on and off for almost two decades, with huge gaps of time between some years. In all this time I have to say that the folks that run this place are awesome! When I first set foot here it was in 2006 and that was to buy a box of good cigars for my mentor who mentored me through my first career oriented job. The owners at the time Larry and Larry were absolutely awesome! Recommended that I grab a box of davidoffs millenium blends, cost me a pretty penny, around $200 in 2006!!! But boy oh boy they were worth the money. My mentor was thrilled, took me back here to have my first ever cigar with him. We smoked and chatted with Larry for about an hour and he even showed us his collection of classic cars while we were here. Since then I've been back a number of times. With hindsight I've discovered that this place is great and it's run by folks with a no nonsense and no BS attitude. They won't kiss your ass and beg you for sale, if you're there to explore and come in with respect and a desire to learn about the art of cigars they will spend the time to go over the details and help you find what you like in your price range. Now for all the naysayers who left reviews for cigar time, I'm going to venture my own estimate and say that they likely came in looking for swisher sweets or something along those lines and expected white glove service for what's considered to be a very poorly made and designed cigar. So all I have to say is that if you come in thinking that you're going to get white glove five star service for something like that you're sadly mistaken. But if you come in here with a genuine curiosity to learn about cigars that these guys will help you all the way. For the more if you come in here, knowing what you like and your back respectful and you don't waste time these guys will get you exactly what you need. I'm going to continue to come back here for my cigar needs. Sadly, to say one of the owners passed away two years ago, but the remaining one, is still a great guy and if you approach with respect and don't expect the moon and can appreciate a dude with decades a wisdom and maybe a slightly crass attitude you won't be disappointed! Smoke away folks! read more

Picked up some cigars for party favors to give out a my dinner party. Great customer service for a novice like me.

Great service the guy there was very nice and was great in helping choose cigars. The Arturo Fuente Gran reserva was great and paired really well with a glass of glendiddich 15 year. read more

Good service, good selection, great value Larry has a great place with a wide selection & fair value on his cigars. Comfortable place for a great cigar read more

Larry was very friendly and professional. Cigars are perfectly stored. No other place like this...i'll be back

Bought 4 cigars here and we're way overpriced. 2 blackened, 1 plasencia Alma de fuego, 1 LE BIJOU 1922 for 108 should have been 80 max. Customer service was terrible. Didn't really get to look at the selection. Will not be ever going back to this place again. read more

The vibe is laid back and friendly. Large comfortable seating, large screen tellis, and an incredible selection of premium smokes. Price point is competitive. Larry is the best. My wife dropped her credit card, called and confirmed it was there. Larry brought it to her. We live in central Long Beach. What proprietor does that! Larry if you get to know him. read more

I came in and was greeted by Larry. I'm fairly young but I've been smoking for a little over 4 years. Larry asked me what I like and I told him and I think he was surprised of what I knew. I told him I was looking for a certain brand but didn't see it. A Plasencia. He said I have it follow me he took me to his storage humidor and man I was star struck on how much more selection he had. I mean it was full of cigar and all I was saying "oh you have this and that. I ended up with two recommendations and two new ones that I've been trying to find and he had them! It's awesome when you go to a place where u can tell he loves what he does. It's like he has a business that's a hobby and that he enjoys doing. He rang me up and shook my hand and said thank you and I told him I'll definitely be back. This is a gem and the prices are not jacked up. I've picked up this hobby and love smoking new sticks. This will be my new go to read more

Nice low key shop. Looks like they are empty until the back room. Friendly staff. Parking is on the side of the building.

Great shop. The real fucking deal. Old clocks, leather chairs, good people. Great feedback on select cigars. Support your local shop. read more

I found Cigar Time on yelp and decided to check it. Larry, the owner, ended up helping me out. He was pretty cool and very knowledgeable about the cigars he carries. I've read some of the other reviews here on Yelp and I get why some people are turned off by Larry's demeanor but I recommend that you have a little patience and give the guy a chance. If you're looking for a Walmart cigar and Walmart experience, go to Walmart. If you want a wide selection of really good cigars at reasonable prices and guy a that knows his stuff, Cigar Time is your spot. Sorry, no Swisher Sweets here folks! The place has a vibe that kind of reminds me of my grandfather's living room, it seems disorganized but Larry knows where everything is at (sort of like me with my home office). I ended up with 4 Avo cigars that I plan on sharing with friends and travel humidor. I will be back in the future any time I'm in need of quality cigars. read more

Larry helped introduce new sticks and names I wouldn't have known about. Just describe which sticks you liked, what you liked about them and he just knows what you should try. They have a huge selection, if you don't see it just ask. Definitely my go to spot, support local! read more

Looking for that place to step back in time and enjoy a good cigar with a great selection of men go no further than this place. The outside is not much and can be hard to see. The Uber driver missed and almost drove by but the entrance is down a little bit. The inside is full of old leather chars and the sides are full of cigars old cigar box's and many antique clocks. What was most interesting was one could look around the room and think you have seen everything and then look at an area and realized you did not see that before. Larry is great but a little rough around the edges but really a knowable and nice proprietor. He made myself and son feel welcome and the other customers are interested and very inviting. My son now has a great burn of men to hang out with. It could be any mans ultimate man cave that he doesn't have to maintain but can hang out in. read more

I think it might be shut down, that or they don't care to update their ours of operation both the day and time where wrong I went on a weekday and I thought we'll maybe they just close early on the week day I looked at all the other times and it shud have been open at that time it wasn't. If they can't get their business hours correct I wonder what else they're doing wrong read more

As a brand new smoker I came into this with great intentions from reading the other reviews but I honestly can say I was mislead once walking in. Walked into the shop and was looking for the owner or someone that could possibly help me and some friends out with some cigars. But found a group of people just in a circle enjoying their smokes and then finally one of the slowly got up with the "greatest" enthusiasm to help us. But it was not even a fair bit of help that he offered. Just answered our "new cigar smokers" recommendation with a stick and told us "there you go, knock yourselves out". No information about it, no other recommendations, nothing else. Was hoping to receive a little more help than that but hey I guess not all shops are going to be as helpful. Not visiting again anytime soon and neither should any new cigar smokers looking to get into the hobby. I'd rather drive farther to get a better experience. read more

I would not recommend this store. I walked in and noticed that all the shelves were empty. There were cigar boxes and cardboard boxes all over the floor, some with open cigar boxes sitting on top of cardboard boxes. Hard to tell if there was a humidor in this (massive) place. There was no one at the cash register, and a bunch of people sitting towards the back of the store smoking. I walked up to them, and one of them reluctantly got out of his seat, only to ask me what I wanted. He didn't seem too happy to make a sale, guess he's got his regulars. Anyway, the cigars he gave me were from boxes that were just sitting out in the open. They turned out to be dry, and had clearly not seen a humidor in a while. Find another store that has a cigars in a humidor and a less grumpy proprietor. read more

If you're looking for a classic old school cigar shop/lounge, this is the place! Great selection of premium quality sticks and excellent customer service. Larry (the owner?) was very welcoming and helpful, will definitely be coming back to this shop in the future! read more

As a customer and a YELP USER since YELP was establish, I'm going to voice my knowledge and opinions. I TRUELY hope this posting won't be deleted, as I noticed the other comment addressing these issues was deleted. I'm one of the regulars here, saw the posting of someone complaining. The lack of cigars in stock and a mold issues are lies and not true. To the individual who made the complaint... If you had really stepped into this establishment, the shelves here are filled with cigars, if not than hundreds of full cigar boxes are visible to the naked eye. There's more cigars here than the average cigar shops in ALL OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. To say there are no cigars or lack of cigars is FALSE. Now this last bit of knowledge is well known to all cigar smokers worldwide... Plume and mold are 2 different issues. The issue you're describing is Plume. Plume is the white build up you were describing. Mold is when you have actual colors such as green, on the cigar leaf. Major difference between WHITE and GREEN. To end your complaint with plugging in a new cigar shop that just so happen to open down the street is kind of fishy. read more

In a hurry to make a quick purchase for my buddy's birthday. I Yelped and found this shop. Two reviews and off I went. I get there and saw about ten men sitting in the lounge area getting ready to eat some pizza and watch UFC. It's a low lit shop but it's an interesting place if you look around. There's a lot of old metal cigar signage on the walls. I saw some old wall clocks. An old barber pole. The guy I dealt with must have been the owner. Big guy that does resemble a mafia dude. He was pretty hospitable. I ended up picking up a box of Romeo Y Julieta. I hope my buddy enjoys them. read more

I was greeted by the owner Larry. Let me say he knows his stuff when it comes to cigars. He has every cigar you can't find online. I finally found my go to spot for cigars. Thank you Larry for all your help. Your the best. read more

I'm a beginner cigar smoker. I've smoked cigars in the past and I was neutral on it. But then I heard Dennis Prager on Louder with Crowder and I decided to give it another go. This shop has an unassuming entrance that opens to a spacious room with big comfortable couches and a wall to wall array of vintage clocks and signs. In the far end of the room was a group of guys puffing away, enjoying the baseball game. I was greeted and I walked over. I said I was just getting into this whole thing and was looking for some recommendations. Larry showed me what was up and handed me a cigar that he felt I would enjoy. He was right. So right. I sat down in a lonely corner, silently smoking when I was invited to join that larger group. I was introduced and I felt welcome to sit and enjoy. If you're looking for a little slice of peace with a great atmosphere away from all the bullshit if things outside, I highly recommend this place. read more

This cigar shop is different, and I mean in a good way. I've slowed down on my cigar consumption over the years, so my visits are infrequent, but always the same. I walk in and look around. The owner asks if I need help. I always do and he always delivers. His walls are humidors. His selection is impressive and his knowledge of his products is unsurpassed. I always leave satisfied. On my most recent visit I was hunting for a brand I had not yet smoked and he guided me to the cigar that best fits my profile, an Aquitaine. I'm enjoying it now. The shop has a lounge too. Every time I've set foot in the place the chairs are full of regulars enjoying a smoke and the owner is usually smoking one too. On my last visit, I mentioned that I was looking for a cigar I had seen on YouTube. I took a little good natured ribbing over it, but I felt welcomed. This place is special. read more

The gentleman is very rude. He doesn't have a sign that specifies that none can park in front of "his store". And seeing I have a toddler and I am pregnant he actually asked me to move my car seeing obviously that it is going to be difficult for me to do so. He rolled his eyes and walked away when I made it a point to tell him that it is going to be inconvenient for me to do so. read more

The only cigar shop I'll go to, Larry only carries great brands and as a regular he knows what you like and has great recommendations. I've been to the other shops in the area and they always push brands that it feels like they aren't selling well and they're trying to unload them or as soon as you enter their humidor, they run in after you and make you feel like a thief trying to snag some cigars. Bottom line: As long as I continue smoking cigars and they're open, they'll always have my business. read more

I rarely put negative reviews but this time around I have to. The custom service was horrible. I walked in and greeted the guys in the seating area smoking. While I was looking for my regular cigar, an older gentleman looked at me and said "what do you want?" I didn't realize that one of the men sitting in the smoking area was the clerk. I politely said which cigar I was looking for, he without any word got up and went into the back. I waited about 5-10 minutes and he didn't return. I figured he couldn't find anything, so I continued to look around. A while later he rudely yelled from the other end of the store, "Hey kid, you buying this or not?" The entire encounter was as if I was inconveniencing the store clerk. I've been enjoying cigars for years and have been to a lot of lounges. I understand if it's a busy night or you have inventory to do but this was outright disrespectful. To store was in disarray, random boxes of cigars were scattered out of the cases and look like there was no organization. I'm sorry but this place gets only a half a star in my book. read more

Great selection! Good pricing. A place to where you could blow a nice stoge.. classic traditional vibes. I'll be back

I found this place on yelp, and wanted to stop in and pick up a few cigars for an event I was having. I wanted to get a good selection, but I am not a connoisseur by any means. I was greeted by Larry the owner and I explained what I was looking for and he took me around the shop and describe the different cigars he had and their flavor, boldness etc. I learned a lot for the time I was in there and ended up leaving with about 15 different cigars and a travel humidor to store them in. The cigars were amazing, each one a different flavor and were a hit by everyone st the event. This is my new Cigar place, and will be coming back to sit in with Larry and smoke a cigar in the shop. Do yourself a favor and come on by and see the selection. read more

Cigar Time - Various cigars and a travel humidor I picked up from Cigar Time - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Cerritos, California

Great owner. Nice Place. I rolled in this afternoon looking for my usual smoke for the weekend, "La Gloria Cubana" series. Great cigar. Anyway the shop was really nice, a little smokey and well worn but lots of character. I must have been there in between stocking up because most of the boxes on display were either empty or had old cigars with mold. Undaunted, I pressed on and spied my favs resting comfortably nearby. The owner came out of his office asking if he could help. He was very nice and approachable and suggested I try a new series that had just come in. Delicious! I recommend this place for sure and if I lived closer this could become my regular shop. read more

It's a fun place to watch the game and enjoy a cigar, although they don't sell alcohol there. The owner is a pretty cool guy. Not the friendliest but he's just a no-bs type of person. He knows his cigars, and makes some pretty good recommendations. I like the interior of the place, as it has a lot of antique-type stuff. There aren't many other alternatives in the area either. The prices are just a tad high, and he doesn't carry everything you might expect, but overall it's a good place to spend a few hours, or to just drop by to pick something up. read more

Cigar Time Open 11a-7p The cigar shop is cool. the big dude just sits around smoking and watching tv (sopranos). The owner might seem like a jerk, but, he doesn't like noobie cigar smokers as i was at the time. This place has a grip of davidoffs, zinos, a. fuente's, avos's, and the stronger and more expensive stuff. speaking of fonseca, jm or the cheaper cigars is heresey to him. He knows his shit. He's expensive and doesn't care. the lounge is big and pretty clean. No services or drinks, etc. just cigars, couches and an old tv.
