My guess is that all these 5-star reviews are based on the lounge, which I have never visited. I have been smoking cigars for 30+ years and typically still burn through a couple boxes per month. I started ordering from Cigar King about two months ago because of their prices and selection. My order this week gave me cause to call and ask about the taxes as well as a coupon that I received from CK in an email. Gary answered the phone, and I discussed my concern with him. We ended the call after he said "taxes and coupons? maybe Cigar King is not the right fit for you". Well, you are correct Gary, there are many other cigar shops that would like to take my money every month. read more

Cigar King has good prices but thats where the good ends. I smoke a box every two weeks and I use a humidor. In spite of that their cigars are dried out and unravel and swell up to the point where they are flimsy and fall apart in your hand. It wasn't a one time experience with them either.I complained and sent them pictures. When I told them I was going elsewhere they sent me an e-mail that they had unsubscribed me. Also, they only ship by USPS so be prepared to wait for them to be delivered. Buyer beware. read more

Made an online order for a Padron Motherload sampler and they were unsmokable. Talked to Gary Spahr who called me and told me he would send me a replacement order. Because he said he was shipping a replacement order I thought wow, nice, a solid guy and great customer service, I'm going to order some more cigars because of this but I was WRONG about that! After a couple weeks and no replacement order, I emailed him directly, messaged through their website and tried to call, left multiple messages and still no replacement order. Will not be ordering from here again. It bothers me that he said he would send a replacement more than receiving the bad cigars in the first place. If you say you're going to do something then do it...or don't say it at all! read more

Cigar King is a serious diamond in the rough and a lot more than I expected. They are located in an industrial area in a nondescript building. Once I opened the front door there are multiple display cases with a good selection of Grand Seikos and ST Dupont Ligne 2 lighters which is an excellent first sign. Their large walk in humidor is loaded with shelves of premium cigars such as Ashton VSG, ESG, Padron 1964, 1926, Davidoff Millenniums, etc. What really impressed me was that if I didn't see the cigar I was looking for I just had to ask the sales person and he would go to their warehouse and get them for me. Cigar King has possibly the friendliest staff that I have met in any of the hundreds of tobacconists that I have been lucky enough to visit. On my second visit of the week I was helped by Gary and he gave me a tour of their operation. This included the large building across the parking lot that contains their online shipping. This building is actually a huge humidor filled with multiple industrial racks of cigar boxes. The only place that I have seen more boxes is at the Corona Cigar shops in Orlando. Back in their main building Cigar King has a watch shop with a good selection from Glycine, Fortis and Maurice de Mauriac. Right in back of the watch shop is a spacious lounge appointed with comfortable chairs and multiple big screen televisions. I was very impressed with their buyer's taste in watches, cigars and cigar accessories(Dupont, Porsche Design, etc.). Overall the combination of selection, price and especially the great service make Cigar King a must visit for anyone who appreciates cigars that is near Scottsdale! read more

Easily one of the top 3 cigar shops on my list due to close proximity to my home. Aside from being very close, I love the variety, the spacious lounge, the number of TV's and the staff, which I've gotten to know well over the years. This place also has the most cigar events of all the local shops too, which I love to attend for great promos and of course, the free sticks that the cigar reps hand out. I don't drink anymore but the BYOB option is great and still extremely popular. The store also has a very large online presence and I receive no shortage of daily specials via email and Twitter, which has some great deals on sales and clearance sticks. read more

This place is just phenomenal for two reasons; the amenities, and the staff. First the staff. They are not only well-versed in their stock and cigars in general, but exceptionally friendly and helpful. You won't find guys standing behind a counter waiting for you to ask for help; they are always mingling among the customers asking if they can help with anything. They know cigars and are happy to share knowledge, while at the same time not being arrogant like some other places' cigar experts. The store and cigar lounge amenities are also fantastic. Huge space, well ventilated, with lots of comfortable seating. It's bring your own beer (and alcohol/wine). There are no membership or other fees, just show up and have a good time. You don't even have to buy cigars here, nobody is counting. The owner is usually around and is not only a gracious host, but lets you know he appreciates your business. They have a huge selection of everything you can imagine from their awesome cigars to humidors to stylish ash trays and amazing cigar cutters and lighters. And they got a great lounge with big couches and flat screens for people to hang out and smoke their cigars. The people who work here are friendly and really helpful and really know all about their cigars. Love this place! For my dads birthday he received a gift card to Cigar King, so we made the trek and got some stogies. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but once you get inside you realize it is a cigar palace where the guys really know their stuff. They have cigars of all different flavors, strengths, brands, and prices. The staff is extremely nice, welcoming, and helpful. As a female in a mans cigar world sometimes it can be intimidating, but these guys answered all my questions and made me feel like part of the club. The prices on the cigars are extremely reasonable, and the gift card went a very long way which was a nice surprise. After we made our purchase the owner showed us the back room cigar lounge which was incredible! They had reclining loungers, tvs all around, a bar area, and a really cool/chill environment. The owner encouraged us to come back and join them on a game day to smoke and enjoy the lounge. Even though it is far away I think it is totally worth the drive. Awesome place! I had a few hours to kill before heading to the airport so I stopped in. The hours listed for the shop showed they opened at 9:00am which was cool cause it allowed me more time to chill before heading to the airport. I got there about 20 mins till 9 and saw a few of the employees go in. I was just going to hang out in my car until they opened but to my surprise they went ahead and opened up the shop and invited me. Wow! Once in, I was immediately greeted with a handshake and introduction. The gentlemen then showed me to the cigars and made some great recommendations. Once I picked out a few sticks I headed back to the huge, well kept lounge but had to stop on the way to check out their really cool watch collections. This place is fantastic! Part of me hesitates to write this review for fear of the growing popularity ruining a good thing. Like when your favorite local band finally gets a record deal and you feel validated by the rest of the world figuring out how genius they are - but alas, the fame consumes the band and marginalizes what was once great... This is among the best cigar merchants I've found, and thusfar is my favorite in the Phoenix area. The owner is often there to help you select a cigar that suits your taste, and there's essentially 2 walk-in humidors. Comfortable seating, large flat panel TV's, and a very relaxed macho feel really make this the place for a cigar guy. They offer boutique shaving products, watches, and many other items in addition to the usual accoutrements of the cigar smoker. Prices are very reasonable.
