THIS GUY IS SO COOL! He's a laid back and has a wide range of cigars which are all aged. The atmosphere is perfect for hangin' and smokin' with the bros. Don't be afraid to chit chat with Joe, he's very friendly and knowledgeable on cigars. Awesome sauce read more

The store was a mess! Cardboard boxes fill the front window and clutter up the store. I was looking for some cigars for a family members birthday. I knew what type of smoke he was in the mood for, but was constantly being berated and harrased, for my choices, by the owner. When I asked if they had any specific cigars, Cohiba, Macanudo, etc. (which they didn't have), he skoffed at MY taste in cigars. I will not return and hope this review will save you a trip to the wrong business. read more

If you ever want to be belittled for not enjoying the same cigars as the owner, shop here. Thats all I have to say and need to say.

Seriously, he had cigars no one else had but mail order. Definitely a place to go if you need some cigars for vacation.

So I've been an infrequent (is that even a word?) visitor to Mr Hiltons place for over 20 years now. After my first time there he remembered me. And after about a 2 year period since I've been there, guess what? YUP Mr Hilton remembered me! Awesome man, Excellent cigars(FUENTE's especially), excellent atmosphere. Whenever I need that special occasion cigar, there is no other place I would go. Cigars are kept perfectly. Buy a cigar, sit down, relax, and some good conversations. Mr Hilton is truly a classy guy. read more

This our first time to Cigar-Cigar. The negative reviews I've read always stopped me from going out of my way to visit. After stopping and meeting the Owner and buying sever very hard to find sticks, all I can say is I will be returning every time I'm in the area. read more

Very disappointed went into cigar cigar looking for a humidor and some cigars with my wife . Was treated with nothing but disrespect. Was called a newbie and asked to define the term newbie as if i didnt know how to spell. Further told to google my questions. As a business owner myself I would never treat a prospective customer like this. He just lost a customer for life and I'd advise all of you who read this to steer clear. read more

I'm not one to write a review. As a matter of fact this is my first time. This was my first time going to Cigar-Cigar. Upon walking in to the shop you will notice empty cigar boxes piled waist high throughout the shop. The man running the place seems very friendly tho the first question he asked me was how many cigars are you gonna buy? The place has a decent selection most of your big names are there. I picked out a few and went home. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed all the cigars were hard and very dry. I know I should have done a better job inspecting them before I bought them. The sticks were just unpleasant to smoke. read more

I've been going to Cigar Cigar for nearly 12 years now. I've read every single review on Joe and his shop and all but one is correct and that would be the review about his cigars being poor quality. When I first got into cigars, I did some research and acted like I knew what the hell I was talking about. First time I met Joe, he was rude and called me out on my ignorance. I took some offense to him and thought this was no way to treat a customer. A couple weeks later, went back and he remembered me. Joe is passionate about cigars and unapologetic for his abrasive and what can be perceived as condescending behavior. But he knows what he loves and ONLY buys cigars that he likes, exception being the ACID line, I think. I've received a many pearls of wisdom and a lot of knowledge on cigars from Joe. Can he be an ass? You bet, but that comes from a man who refuses to move at the speed of the rest of the world. Joe is OLD school. He'll tell you how he sees it and if you're offended he doesn't care if you don't come back. But if you do, he's quite interesting and a throw back from a bygone era. You go to Joe and don't act like you know everything, you should be fine. Reminds me of the old school kanakas drinking, smoking and jamming kanikapila style. Bottom line, quality cigars, loads of insight and wisdom, from a eccentric old guy. Thick skinned recommended. read more

Great cigars. Really can't tell the difference between Cuban Siglo IV and Joe's Arturo Fuente. Joe does not sell cheap cigars. I like his Optimus X. If you want cheap cigars or your ego stroked, I highly recommend u shop else where. read more

This is a place that should not go. This boss is a discriminating customer. It is very fierce. It is not a good service attitude. His cigar does not let you feel. I only want you to see it. It is necessary to buy a cigar. To feel the softness of maintenance, this boss does not even understand the most basic, this is a very bad feeling, it is not going to this place! ! ! read more

I hate to be a be a hater on one of the few dedicated cigar shops on the island, however Cigar Cigar is one of my least favorite places to buy cigars. There are several reasons for this. One is that they're no prices listed on the cigars meaning that you have to ask each and every time. SO #!@&)$ ANNOYING! Also, you can't shop in peace here. The owner will stand in the little humidifier with you and blab you're ear off as though you don't know shiznit about cigars. Granted the guy is knowledgable, but I know what I want and don't need your advice buddy. The prices are also steep, however this is kinda the norm here on the island. read more

I have read various other reviews on this particular cigar shop and was quite alarmed by some of the reviews that I read. Just to give you an idea of my apprehension, terms like pompous jerk, arrogant, belittle, overpriced, and moldy humidor is what comes to mind whenever I think of the shop based on previous reviews on other sites. I am fairly new to world of cigars at this point, but I have tried and enjoyed premium brands such as Graycliff, Cohiba, Gurkha, CAO, Oliva, and Drew Estate just to name a few. I have been to just about every reputable cigar shop on the island except for Cigar Cigar for the reasons stated above. I never fail to eye out this shop every time I pass it by on King Street, wondering when I'll be able to muster up the courage to go inside or if it was even worth my time. Today, I was able to do so and I decided to give this shop (and it's owner) the benefit of the doubt and pay them a visit. Just to set the tone, I don't look like your typical cigar smoker. I'm a 31 y.o. local guy and I consider myself to be a casual smoker, enjoying 2-3 cigars on average per week. There's ample parking in the back of the shop and I walk around the store and enter through the front entrance wearing a backwards hurley cap, affliction t shirt, white cammo surf shorts, and cobian slippers. I was immediately greeted with the words "I told you that you could come in through the back door!". I started to think: what did I get myself into?!! The Gentleman, "Joe" as he later introduced himself as with a handshake, slid the humidor door open with a welcoming gesture and proceeded to ask me what cigars I have smoked before. I replied with a similar list of cigars as I mentioned earlier. He then asked which one I liked most. I told him which one was my favorite thus far and he proceeded into the humidor and reached for an A. Fuente Rosado Gran Reserva. He went into detail as to why he thinks Fuente makes the greatest cigars and as he was trying to explain himself, I was distracted by his cigar collection, admiring his neatly arranged offerings. He then waved his hand in front of my face and said "hello!" in an attempt to regain my attention to his story. I thought that was a little rude, but hey, he's passionate about his cigars and he wanted to bring his point across. He then put several other cigars in my hand, explaining each blend as he did so. I asked which cigar he would most recommend out of all the ones that he suggested and he said that I should give the Fuente a try, which was the most expensive of all the ones that he recommended. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. At this point, I trusted what he had to say about it regardless of the price. Chances are, it will probably be great. The shop itself could use a make over. The lounge area consist of a couch and an old tube tv on a coffee table. Multiple cigar boxes and "stuff" lay stacked around large areas of the store. The feel is a bit cluttered and dusty. As far as the cigar selection, probably the most diverse I've seen on the island. As far as the owner goes, he knows his stuff and is willing to help you out if you let him. I can tell that he's passionate about what he does and he takes great pride in what he has to offer. As I checked out with the Fuente, he even threw in a cigar I inquired about (tatiana mocha) that was sitting next to the register for free. If anyone has doubts about this cigar shop, move it aside and give it a chance as I did. I'm the sort of person where first impressions mean everything. If I did not like the way you treated me, you will never see my face around your establishment again, nor will you see anyone else who knows me. I am happy and relieved to say that the initial apprehensions I had regarding this shop has dissolved. Overall, I am pleased with my first experience at Cigar Cigar. If you want quality cigars, knowledgeable, straight up service, you owe it to yourself to check this shop out. read more

I just stopped by looking for a specific cigar which he did not carry BUT Joe recommended the AF magnum R. I cut and lit it right there and fell in love. Delicious cigar. I definitely recommend cigar cigar if you are serious about cigars and expect quality products. Great job Joe! read more

I like this place, allot, and I'll give three reason why: 1. Location 2. Knowledge 3. Selection The location can not be beat. Directly on King Street it is easy to find. Oh, and did I mention it has parking! The selection is fabulous with about 125 different cigars to choose from but, if you really want to find the perfect stick, just let Joe, the Owner, help you. The last 7 or 8 times I have been here, I simply let Joe know what I'm in the mood for (smooth and creamy, full yet mellow) and "waa-la", he picks the perfect cigar for me. And when I say perfect, I mean he's spot on every time. He know's his stuff. Whether you're a local and looking for a great place to pick up a few cigars, or just visiting town heading out to golf, this should be your go to cigar store. Enough said! read more

Gents, I'm not sure what your experience level is with cigar stores, but I would give Cigar-Cigar a wide berth, unless you like being ripped off. I went to Cigar-Cigar for the first time last week after reading good reviews from other cigar lovers. Bottom line: stay away. Yes, they do carry top of the line cigars, but unless you love paying top dollar and a premium on top of that, this is not the place for serious cigar aficionados. Cigars in boxes are stacked all around the humidor and the owner is not sure of what he has and in which quantities. He does, however, get annoyed when you pin him down with technical questions about cigars. I wanted to buy a couple of boxes of cigars for a friend in Japan. After not seeing anything I liked, I let the owner talk me into buying 2 boxes of R&J 1875 Deluxe #2, at a price of $98.98 per box of ten. After a quick check on JR Cigars, I could have bought the same box at JR for $47.95. That, friends, is price gouging, even for Honolulu. My advice: stay away from Cigar-Cigar Etc. I'll certainly never be buying there again. Happy smokes. read more

Aloha fellow Hawaii cigar smokers. I first read some reviews about this shop. Some good some not so good. I drove in and waited for him to arrive, since it was around lunch time . He pulls in and I ask him " Hey can I park here and walk to Walmart? "Hell No!" he exclaims . "I'm kidding" I said, I'm here to buy cigars from you. It was a good ice breaker. After I told him, I was new to cigar smoking and wanted his help to find some good choices. Cool guy! Knows his stuff . Sold me some nice smokes and ask me to come back and smoke with him in his lounge. I will take him up on that and hope to learn more from a true cigar aficionado . Oh and he filled my butane lighter . As for the bad reviews I read, it seems to me that some people should get over themselves and not be so sensitive. Now reading all these reviews good and bad you must go see for yourself and make sure to buy some great cigars. Robert. read more

I travel to Hawaii about 4 times a year and found this little gem of a cigar store. Joe, the owner is a great guy, good conversationalist, and very intelligent...Not just cigar intelligent, but worldly intelligent...His stories of Hawaii are an education in and of itself....He also has a new cigar for me when ever I come by...and as any expert tobacconist, he has never disappointed....Cigar Cigar may not be the modern cigar bar that many are seeking....but that is just fine with me....Old school is better anyway....A great smoke with great conversation is the best anyone should hope for....Stop by when you have some down time, you will not be disappointed. read more

This shop is perfect for someone like me who loves smoking aged cigars but lacks the patience to age them personally. Joe, the owner, won't sell anything that hasn't been aged at least two to three years. Anyone familiar with cigars should appreciate the extra effort put into what is sold at Cigar-Cigar versus most other shops that concentrate on quick inventory turns. It also doesn't take long for Joe to familiarize himself with the preferred flavor profiles of his repeat customers and make recommendations accordingly. There's a reason I'm in this store three or four times a week. read more

My son and I own a cigar store in Tuscaloosa, AL. We enjoy seeing cigar stores whenever we travel. I was delighted to find Cigar Cigar on a recent visit to Honolulu. Joe is a brave cigar retailer in a state as antagonistic to cigars as Hawaii. After all, where can you smoke the fine cigars that he offers. If his prices are higher, you should consider that to be the fault of the state of Hawaii and its excessive taxes. When you ship your internet purchased cigars to Hawaii, you are actually evading taxes (illegally I might add with the risk of redundancy). Joe had some really excellent cigars, including the nearly impossible to find Avo LE 2010, which may be one of the world's finest. I buy them when I can find them, but, I can't bring myself to destroy them. Call it conservation of a precious resource. Anyway, I hope to return and enjoy a great smoke with Joe the owner. Tourists and Residents should make a point to support this fine retailer. I know that I will. Thanks Joe! read more
