As a Ninja Turtle at heart, I'm always on the hunt for the perfect slice. I pulled into MOEZ, and I was thrilled to see specialty pies already hitting the counters at 11 AM. Prime time for the lunch rush. My golden rule? You have to nail the classic cheese first. If the foundation isn't right, nothing else matters. I grabbed a cheese slice and a stunning Grandma slice, making sure to ask for them "well-done." They nailed the bake. The cheese slice was thin and authentic, transportive enough to make me feel like I was in Italy rather than my cold car. With a perfect "crunch-to-soft" ratio, MOEZ earns a hard 4.5/5.

This is a rectangular pie with three slices of each. The price seemed a little steep, but it's pretty common these days to pay $15 a person for a meal. The counter man informed us it would be 30 minutes. I appreciated the head-up, but we had no where to go...and it meant the pizza was being made fresh! It was actually done in about 20 minutes. Gorgeous to look at, and loaded down with toppings. There was no skimping here. The edges of the pie were crispy without being crunchy, and the dough underneath was soft but still could stand up to the weight of the toppings. Somewhat reminiscent of a Detroit-style pizza, but leaner and, IMO, tastier. We are half the pie, trying each type and packed the rest for home. I expect it will reheat well. Total with drinks was around $30. You could feed a family of four on this pie. Excellent!
