Shrimp Cesar salad

Best nachos we've ever had! They have good drink options too! Spent most of the morning and afternoon by the pool. Service was attentive and friendly.

Amazing views

This is the resort's 21+ pool, so it is mildly quieter, but you can still hear kids from the main pool, and the trail is about 10 feet in front of the glass, so while trying to enjoy the view, people keep walking by and staring. It was a pretty good time for relaxation, but confrence attendees had an event and it got loud/packed quickly (not in a fun way). If you're looking for a truly relaxing pool, use the spa pool. The nachos were probably the best I've ever had. Light enough to enjoy in the sun and plenty of toppings. The wind can also pick up at times, so make sure everything is held down.

The view is top notch. Miguel was very attentive. He went above and beyond. We ended up coming back the next day as well based solely on his hospitality. Thank you, Miguel!

Not a bad view ;)

The day I went was so hot I burnt my feet on the sand but the margarita I had after definitely soothed my pain. I was laying in the row of lounge chairs facing the ocean and we had a super sweet server (forgot her name) but she was so attentive and even brought us water (gotta stay hydrated right). Totally enjoyed myself and got my tan on- fun environment though I did see some of the employees sitting down texting and not being as helpful as our server. One of the guy servers dodged straight to a group of girls and would NOT leave their area (subtle, dude) the music was a little dated but overall I'd say this is a fun spot to come hide out and tan at.

Amazing view and food but where does the food come from???

Let's not get political (please) - it's Yelp after all…read more I chose here this year for my husband's annual birthday brunch! He loves a decadent brunch. Who doesn't? And after a number of years patroning the Four Season's Beverly Hills brunch on Doheny I wanted to try something new. There's not many decadent, birthday worthy brunch options in our post Covid world. So when I found this one, read the menu and saw the price point I was ALL in. And my goodness it blew last year at the four seasons away by a lot!!! (They dipped significantly after Covid - not the same value). The Trump had EVERYTHING you could want in a brunch. Sushi, free flowing champagne, prime rib, crepes, crab, waffles, eggs Benedict, pancakes, chocolate dipped fruit, breads, bagels, cheeses, salad, Korean short ribs, shrimp, shrimp scampi, pasta, omelettes, oysters, fruit & figs, and sausage & bacob. I know for a fact I am missing offerings. It was world class, A+ with live music and wonderful service. The views of the pacific were gorgeous on our blustery day. My goodness it was so pretty. We were not rushed at all. It wasn't cramped or crowded. I loved it! And I'd definitely make this a recurring birthday treat for him. It was absolutely worth it.

The food was great! No complaints there. The service however, was absurd! Actually, non-existent…read more The table next to us literally had to go to the bar and retrieve their own drinks. No one checked on us, it took way too long to get served and when we finally did, it was with an attitude. Our appetizer order was also forgotten. The restaurant had only 2 tables of guests, including us. Shocking for a Saturday night. So the excuse of being busy isn't going to fly here. We will not be back. Although I enjoyed the food, being ignored and treated like crap doesn't make it worth it. If you want decent food, excellent service by the sea, I'd recommend going to Redondo Beach or Hermosa Beach. ANYWHERE but here!

My last review on this place was over nine years ago and back then I had just started to write…read morereviews. It's probably the shortest review I ever wrote lol. I was a rookie. Earlier today my family and I came here for lunch. What a beautiful place to be at. I ordered the summer breeze cocktail and loved it on this hot summer day. Made with strawberry and lime. So good. The food was good to some dishes better than others. The chicken wings were delicious so was the pretzel. My boys got spicy chicken sandwich and liked it a lot. I got the swordfish tacos and was very disappointed. There was barely any fish in it or cabbage salad, only two tacos. Everyone else seemed to be satisfied with their food. Customer service was friendly and attentive. Overall it's a great place to come to because the ambiance is wonderful. The ocean breeze and smell is everything ...

Breathtaking sunset views, but a special occasion completely ruined by hostile service…read more I came here to celebrate a very special day, and while Nelson's boasts one of the most stunning oceanfront views in LA, our experience was heavily tarnished by a completely unacceptable level of service from our specific server. First, the positives: The location is unmatched. Having dinner while watching the gorgeous sunset over the Pacific was unforgettable. The tall male host at the entrance was also wonderfully kind, professional, and set a great tone for the evening. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed bag but mostly good. The burgers and tacos were flavorful and delicious. However, I would skip the Fried Calamari--it was almost entirely heavy batter, and it felt like there was barely any actual squid inside. Unfortunately, our dining experience took a sharp turn for the worst due to our female server. We were served our main courses before our salads or appetizers ever made it to the table, and we weren't even given any utensils to eat with. After waiting and searching for our server to no avail, I flagged down another staff member to ask for utensils and let them know about the missing appetizers. Shortly after, our server marched over to our table with an incredibly defensive and intimidating attitude, asking us if we had "complained" about her to another staff member. The hostile tone was shocking. To top it off, she forgot our drinks, and when we had to ask for them again, she gave us an exasperated, annoyed look. It is so disappointing when a beautiful, special occasion is ruined by someone's terrible attitude. While the scenery and most of the food were fantastic, management really needs to address the service standards here.

Rather than dine at the pricier Mar'sel restaurant or the casual Nelson's, I opted to dine at the casual Catalina Kitchen patio overlooking the main pool. Food was delicious at generous portions & reasonable prices - I had the Superfood Salad with mixed endive, greens, beets, cashews, Goji berries in a zesty vinaigrette, plus French dip sandwich - delicious with shaved rib eye steak w/ au jus and fries - I could barely finish it. + i had a non-alky beer to wash it all down. Service was friendly & attentive. Afterwards, I took time to stroll around the property/grounds, taking in the breakingtaking views. Valet parking available for $15 with valididation - not bad for resort parking price point. If you don't want to plan/pay for a whole vacation, Terranea is perfect for a nice #daycation - what a lovely day.

So, if I could give it a 3.5, I would. This restaurant is surprisingly hard to find....at least…read morethe first time (I didn't realize how MASSIVE this resort is). Once located though, I was disappointed on several fronts. First, there is no view of the ocean cause this restaurant's outdoor area is next the pool area so not only do you not get a view but you have to listen to kids at the pool. Next is the service. There seems to be plenty of waiters around yet for some reason the service is slow. Lastly, when we showed up on a Sunday for brunch, they told me that only the buffet was available, no ala carte. Interesting. Ok so I went to the omelet station and the cook behind the counter was friendly enough but was working 2-3 skillets/customers at once. As you can imagine, my omelet tasted overcooked. On a positive note, it's a very beautiful restaurant and is very clean. I dunno, overall I'd say this place is fine if you're staying at the resort but if you travel here, like I did, it may not be worth the time traveled plus the expensive price (approximately $100 per person)

One of my favorite spots on the Peninsula to slow down, grab a drink, and let the night unfold. The room has great energy, ocean views, glowing fireplaces, and a crowd that's clearly happy to be there. It's the kind of place where you settle into a chair, sip something strong, and suddenly two hours disappear. What makes it special is the live music. Local musicians play most nights from about 7-11pm, creating the perfect soundtrack for the evening. This past Saturday we stopped in after dinner at Nelson's on the property, an excellent combination. We caught Olivia Pucci, who lit up the Terranea lobby in a striking red dress, delivering smooth, soulful vocals that set the tone immediately. Her mix of pop, jazz, and mellow classics is perfect for cocktails and oceanfront vibes, backed by a tight trio on piano/keyboard and guitar. Honestly, this is Palos Verdes at its best: great drinks, live music, ocean air drifting in, and a relaxed crowd enjoying the moment. The best nights are the ones where you stop watching the clock and just soak it all in, this is exactly that kind of place.

And I were so excited to come to - The Gingerbread lounge. Which is located inside their main lobby bar. It's a small little pop up bar decorated like a gingerbread house and other fun Christmas decorations (Anything at this resort is beautiful. Especially during the holidays) so it's safe to say the atmosphere is great. The gingerbread lounge offers -Cocktails -Mocktails -snacks / desserts. mostly cookies. They have about 12 different sweets. And it runs from -November 29, to Friday, January 2; weekdays from 4 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 10 p.m.  Unfortunately, we got there and it was closed. There's a few different dates circulating around saying it closes on the 2, 3rd and one place Even said the 5th. A worker did say they closed before the end date though. (We should have called. Especially with a couple different dates circulating for the gingerbread lounge) So we were not able to enjoy the gingerbread lounge. However, they did have enough to make 2 different cocktails from their limited menu. Which I got the- CLAUSMOPOLITAN - Ketel One Oranje Vodka, Cranberry and Vanilla Bean Puree, Lime Juice and a Frosted Sugar Rim (I don't think they did the sugar rim. Which is fine. They were out of everything from the pop up bar) They were all out of the dessert options from the gingerbread bar So we ordered from the regular menu. We got a lobby seat. Which, the lobby is very nice. Has great seating, couches and etc. has a couple fire places. I went to the bar and asked them how it worked. I was able to have my drink made, and I took it to my table while he sent the waiter over to take our other orders. Carson was very very friendly. But since it was busy he really wasn't to be found I ordered the-MARGHERITA PIZZA fior di latte, tomato sauce, basil (This is a one size pizza, it's not huge, but it's great if you're sharing other things) this was delicious But I'll be honest. I came for the drinks. I asked the bartender at the main bar area if he could make me something special. I wanted the - pornstar (he laughed, and agreed to it) Carson, our server dropped it off at our table right at the same time as Michelle's drink came out. Michelle had the -EQUINOX * lyre's agave blanco, hibiscus, lemon (This was delicious AND beautiful. Loved the color of it) Michelle also ordered -CARAMEL CRÈME BRULEE CHEESECAKE caramel cheesecake, crème brulee, baci crust seasonal berries tossed in mango passion compote I then had the bartender pick a drink for me. He went with the very popular-UNDER THE PALMS. tito's handmade vodka, lillet rosé, lemongrass, pandan, lemon, coconut water Very refreshing! I could drink these at the pool or at a polo match and just relax. P.S- this place also offers flights! It was also a very very rainy day. And valet was amazing!!!!! He saw me walking in heels and carrying Michelle's gift bag and my purse. He stood next to me with the umbrella. I kept telling him he didn't have to and I actually love the rain lol. But he insisted. As soon as we got to a covered place right by the door he told me to keep the umbrella and use it for the rest of the night. I wish I had his name. He was absolutely amazing and he went above and beyond I will say, the staff here are all amazing. Even the comment about the waiter, Carson being a little slow, he was great, he was just taking care of sooooo many different people This was still such a fun time! I loved having some small food bites and drinks with my girl. The tree inside and outside was still lit up To be honest I love the lobby bar. It was raining, but it still had nice views. I love the different seating. They have a large community table, separate tables, they have nice leather chairs but I really wanted the couch area to not be taken up. If I'm comfortable, Have a bff with me And I'm drinking? I could have stayed all night. I would of lived there Bathroom is also very close to the lobby bar Parking is good for me. The handicap parking is up close and I don't have to pay a fee because the handicap sticker. (If you don't have a handicap sticker unfortunately the parking can be far or expensive) If you go to places like the Spa or restaurants closer to the water. They have people on golf carts take you all around the grounds to where you are going So I highly suggest not just coming to the lobby bar and to check out more of the resort. I could spend hours here I can't wait for the gingerbread lounge for Christmas 2026.
