Walking to the bathroom feels legitimately like entering a haunted house. Other than that, however, I found it to be nothing more than a mundane ice cream shop with ample sesting space. We went on a Tuesday night, were quickly greeted by a very nice girl working behind the counter. Ordered our ice cream, received it quickly and found the prices to be very reasonable. The problem was that the quality of the ice cream is not great. To be more specific, the texture was icy instead of creamy. The plain chocolate was the best, I thought, because while the flavor lacked some intensity it was nonetheless pleasant. The coffee and oreo flavors were okay, but the toasted coconut was terrible. It tasted synthetic, to say the least. The worst coconut based ice cream I've had. I would only recommend going here if you love Halloween decorations, or some other theme that they may partake in throughout the year.

Finding the business wasn't that difficult, as I spotted some people sitting outside enjoying their cool treat on this humid evening. The new location offered a relaxing environment with ample seating for customers. After being greeted upon entering, I approached the counter where a pleasant employee took my order for a scoop of Baileys ice cream. I found an available wooden table branded with the store's "Let's Chill" logo and sat down to thoroughly enjoy my tasty boozy treat. There is a variety of ice cream flavors--classic, boozy, dairy-free, and seasonal--which can be served in a cup, a cone, a flight, or blended into a delicious milkshake at a reasonable price. A parking garage is available within the residential area with posted instructions on how to receive limited free parking with validation. Apparently, I only discovered that while taking a brief walk around to see what other businesses were in the vicinity. I parked inside the public garage next to the City of Coral Springs Municipal Complex.

Every bite tastes like a mini tropical vacation. The staff is always friendly, the location is clean, and the portions are generous for the price. The Magic Cow in Coral Springs has a 4.8-star Yelp rating, and their sister store in Davie is apparently one of the top 10 ice cream shops in the entire United States. So naturally, I had to see if the local legend lived up to the hype. (Spoiler: it did. And then some.) The moment we walked in, I was hit with that nostalgic mix of sugar, laughter, and magic that says you're about to make a very good life decision. The owner greeted us like old friends -- warm, funny, and clearly passionate about what he does. You can tell every scoop that leaves that counter has been crafted with pride. Now, about the ice cream. I went with the Carrot Cake flavor -- and let me tell you, it wasn't just ice cream; it was an experience. Folded into it were ribbons of caramel and bits of pie crust that somehow made me rethink all my previous dessert choices in life. One bite in, and I'm pretty sure I saw colors brighter than usual. My wife went for a combo of Better Batter Cake Carnival and Chocolate Batter Better, and to call it "excellent" would be an understatement. This flavor pairing was pure joy in stereo. I'm pretty sure she stopped listening to me talk for a good five minutes, which is the ultimate compliment to any dessert. Bottom line: The Magic Cow isn't just living up to its reputation -- it's churning out happiness, one scoop at a time. If you haven't been, fix that immediately. Your taste buds will thank you, your diet will forgive you (eventually), and your inner child will do a happy dance.

Frozen custard is what happens when ice cream decides to get serious about its career…read more That was the mood at Whit's Frozen Custard in Coral Springs when my wife and I stopped in and both landed on the blackberry chip flavor of the day. I went with a cup, she chose the waffle cone, which turned out to be the smarter move because that crisp cone with the rich custard was a perfect combo. The first thing that stands out is the texture. This stuff is dense, rich, and incredibly full. Every bite feels smooth and substantial, the kind of frozen dessert that makes regular ice cream seem like it's just winging it. It's deliciously refreshing, but it also has that heavy, creamy body that makes you slow down and actually enjoy it. The blackberry chip was very good, but if I'm being honest, I wanted the berry flavor to hit just a little louder. I've had blackberry ice cream before that really let the fruit sing, and this one felt a little more restrained. Still tasty, still refreshing, just missing that extra berry punch that could have pushed it into five-star territory. Halfway through mine, I actually said, "This texture could make vanilla exciting." That's how good the custard base is here. I also got a taste of the cookies and cream, and that may have stolen a little bit of the spotlight. Creamy, balanced, and loaded with cookie flavor, it instantly became the one I'm eyeing for next time. The place itself is simple, which honestly works in its favor. No frills, no giant menu maze, just vanilla, chocolate, and two flavors of the day made fresh and rotated daily. Checking the calendar ahead of time almost becomes part of the ritual, like seeing what surprise is waiting for you. The staff was friendly, the whole stop was easy, and even with wanting a bit more berry flavor, this was still a really enjoyable dessert run. Easy four stars. Some places wow you with spectacle. Thanks to the reviewers, we made the right choice! However, I drove 2 businesses past the shop and had to back up a little to park haha, because the sign on the shop is simply "Bakery". The signage on the window is the only indicator that you found the right place. The shop is essentially a cake bakery on the left, ice cream shop on the right when you walk in. There is no room for seating, but there are 2 sets of tables and chairs outside. The gentleman who mans the shop (the only person who does so) had that dry humor that made him fun to speak to. I asked what the Superman ice cream flavor was, and he answered, "It's only for kids." He told us the Captain Rum Raisin was the product of him trying to make rum raisin with several different kinds of rum, and the feedback he received was that the one with Captain Morgan was the best, so he makes it with that now. I had to try it, then subsequently get a scoop of it. The Captain Rum Raisin had just the right amount of creaminess, raisin and sweet rum flavor. You can get half scoops of ice cream after 1 scoop, so I had a half scoop of Cookie Monster, which is cookies and cream ice cream with a refreshingly aggressive blue coloring. The owner told us to get the Cookie Monster in a cup rather than a cone since it will stain if it melts and drips. It definitely turned our tongues that exact blue color! The ice cream itself was delicious as well, creamy, cookie tastic and not sugar loaded. You can only pay with cash or Zelle (if the owner likes you enough to tell you his number and name). This is so that the owner can avoid card transition device subscriptions and fees, and he can keep his prices low, which by the way, are definitely low for the quality of ice cream he offers! A scoop of ice cream starts in the $2 range! Bring your cash and pay him a fun, cool and delicious visit!

The owner (I think his name was Scott) came out from the back and talked about the variety of flavors that he makes himself, including Superman and Cookie Monster, which he uses real raspberries in and adds organic blue food coloring to. He was extremely nice and made for good conversation. In the end, my partner and my daughter both had Cookie Monster in their cup, and she topped hers off with their Rum Raisin, while I had a Cookie Monster Milkshake. We all enjoyed our blue colored tongues afterwards, and we look forward to being able to do it again soon. Be advised - the shop is cash-only, but the owner does take Zelle payments now as well.

This franchise of Uncle Louie G's opened in April on Sample Rd in the same plaza as Runyon's. It is owned by Andrea Mormile and her sister, Denise from Brooklyn, New York. The sisters were inspired to open Uncle Louie G's when they couldn't find the kind of icy treats they grew up on. Ice cream flavors included Louie Big Blue, Brooklyn Cheesecake, and Apple Pie while Italian ice flavors included Oreo cookie dough, chocolate jelly ring, cherry chip, and Italian Dream.
