Cider Tire V - New tires - Tires Near Me - Hampton, Virginia

Recently bought a rim. We told the guy exactly the size we needed and purchased what he recommended even though we did not have our trailer with us. Figured he is a tire expert so was trustworthy. Paid $45 for the rim even after he told us $25 and then changed the price. The rim did not fit on our axel. When my son tried to return it or simply exchange it for the correct rim, was told he did not have one and would only buy back the rim for $15. WTH! You sell us a rim and say it's the correct size and when it's the wrong size due to your error, you won't give us the exact price we paid? I will never, ever use this place again or recommend it to anybody. That is just bad business. read more

This place is a diamond. So this review is taking place far after it should have, my experience at Cider was a bit ago (maybe a year ago?) but I've been trying my best to keep up with the shout outs to our local businesses (it's been a very busy past year so I am trying to double back the best I can). I was caught in a position where my family was dealing with a pretty major life event and we had a vehicle with a tire out of service and required a fix so that my father could use the vehicle. With financial constraints, I was worried about the $ and time it would take, and since I'm not a car person and really have no knowledge of what's "reasonable" and how it all works, I pretty much took a leap of faith and blindly leaned on the gentleman at Cider. I was expecting a hefty buck and some sort of delay, which is why I selected Cider. I have lived by Cider for 30 years and (luckily) never had a tire issue, so I figured that Cider was near enough that I could walk home and walk back if needed. Again- being relatively ignorant with car issues, I was low key terrified as to what it would take to get this tire business wrapped up. I arrived at Cider, already dealing with the emotion of the family stuff combined with having no clue what to expect, and the gentleman came out to greet me (shame on me- I forget his name but his hair was EPIC ha ha) and I got a good vibe from the jump off. Then this is craziest cool part- like I said I was pretty sad over other stuff and kind of explained my situation to him and he dang near became my therapist lol. Then, in one fell swoop, he popped the tire off, identified that there was a nail stuck in it, and then (maybe I'm being silly because again- I don't know car/tire stuff) but he took it right in the garage (and let me watch, as he explained, as I went through my catharsis) and seriously fixed the tire right in front of my eyes. I'm not trying to oversell or advertise him as a therapist lol but I can say that at this particular moment during my situation and on this particular day, the experience was kind of perfect. And much needed on multiple levels. My talking took more time than the tire, he fixed it easy peasy, and although I don't remember the exact cost it was probably maybe 15% of what I was imagining in my head. I won't even guess at $ amounts because I don't want to put anybody on the hook, but it was definitely an awesome price. Beautiful, beautiful day for me. I left feeling like the things happening at that point in time weren't quite as bad as I thought. I have been coming here for years. Know the owner personally, and I can promise you there is no better service in a tire shop anywhere! They have helped me so many times, and more than once I have been in a situation where I had to be somewhere in a matter of minutes, and the guy (I won't list his name) was incredibly fast and getting me back on the road again! Unless you are in a place where you don't have a choice but to go to the nearest tire center, I would recommend you take your vehicle here before anywhere else. You will be glad you did.
