I've been shopping at Murray's for years to buy oil, filters, pretty much anything I need to keep my car's engine happy. I've always received good service from the staff (and I might add that they were always well staffed) there and the check out girls have always been friendly. In fact, I bought all my auto supplies in Spring 2008 for last summer at this Murray's. Flash forward to June 2009: It's oil-changing time! Time to go to Murray's! I enter anticipating the check-out girls and service desk dude. I freeze in my tracks. Where are the check-out registers? Where's the service desk? The counter in the back has been shifted to the side of the store where the entrance is, and there are just 2 guys working the whole store. They get parts from the back for people who need help and explanations how to fix their own cars, answer the phones, AND they and they have to ring up all the customers! At 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, you'd think they'd be better staffed than that. Where were the check-out registers? Where were the check-out girls? There were not even any girls to check out! (Yeah, I go to the auto store on Saturday afternoon to meet chicks...heh). I waited in line all too long to buy 5 quarts of Penzoil and a FRAM filter. Also, I noticed the store was not nearly as clean it used to be. What happened? Turns out O'Reilly Auto bought Murray's parent company, CSK. I get it. LET'S CUT COSTS. Well, Mr. O'Reilly, I will take my business elsewhere from now on.

I like coming here because the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to cars. Johnny the store manager is awesome. He is always attentive to customers and his staff. Whenever, someone walk inside this location the staff always greets you with a smile. If they don't carry certain parts that you need at their location. Don't worry the staff is quick to look up another location to help get you the parts that you need. Better yet.. They will have the parts shipped to their location for you to pick up in a day or two. Each staff member is trained professionally and has great customer service skills. Very patient & don't mind assisting you.

I actually had them verify that it was there in the phone. Upon arrival, they told me it was a computer glitch in the inventory. Clearly was fed up at this point. I called O'Reilly's on Harlem and they confirmed they had the battery. Drove tot he store and they did. I was in and out. They also honored a veterans discount. This is now my go to auto parts store.

My fiance took my 2009 ford focus to this shop for front brakes and driverside caliper replacement…read more Mind you my brakes had been redone a few days before which is when it was discovered that the old caliper was not opening as it should and causing friction, pulling and a very intense burning smell, but even after receiving the new parts (not sure if they replaced the old parts) the caliper was still doing the same thing. My fiance paid over $500 for the fix and I believe he was beat out of that money. They didn't give back the new brakes that I had already paid for and when their services were complete, they parked my vehicle on the street. This shop has definitely changed from years back.

I'm always leary of going to any place related to car mechanical work or replacements so it's always a huge relief when I find someone who is trustworthy. Only downside to Pepboys is they didn't have enough seating for people waiting on their cars and they didn't have wipes so I could wipe down my steering wheel when it was returned (Midas did this for me so maybe I was just lucky). There's plenty of shops next door that you can walk around in while waiting for your car and this proved to be very useful for me. Good Pep Boys location.

I bought a starter from this place and in less than a month it stopped working. Found out that the…read morestarters they sell are remanufactured garbage and they only give you an exchange not a refund on any electrical parts. Well before finding this out I went to a shop and had them install a new starter and instantly you can hear the difference between a good starter and the starters that they sell. So then I went to the store to try and get my money back and found out they will only exchange it for a new one because it's an electrical part. I explained that I have another starter in the car so I had no need for another starter that's going to fail anyway. The store manager shrugged his shoulders and said that's all we can offer. Lesson learned beware what you buy and who you buy it from. I wouldn't go there to buy an air freshener after this experience!
