***Visitor*** Being from California to visit some relatives, I was badly needing a serious workout…read morefrom all the fantastic Texas food I've been gorging. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the owner Barry. As I explained that I was from out of state and only wanted a one-day usage, he generously offered the use of his facility for FREE. I respectfully refused because I was honored by his offer but more importantly, I wanted to show a return of respect to Barry for being an independent owner of a gym in this fitness business. Besides, you treat things of more value when you pay for them than receiving it for free; we negotiated a fair use of his gym for $10. This gym might be considered small to some but this place has some of the best and cleanest equipment anywhere. All the dumbells (up to 120lbs) are properly placed along with the seats in front. The power area has 1 Smith machine and one power rack; no stand alone flat bench press. The 45-lb plates are plentiful to fill the leg press and hack squat machine. There are various cable and weight machines to for specific muscle groups. The treadmills, elliptical machines, and stair climbers are more than adequate for anyone's cardio needs. A massage table is available for your post workout as well. This place has a great environment for a serious workout. The clientele are very nice and will spot you for a heavy lift if you ask. Please support this business because not only will it fulfill your fitness needs, but the owners are the best of people and we need more of that in this world.

Best AF in the area, hands down. I was attending the Evans/Bulverde AF location prior to it's…read moreclosure, so I visited multiple AFs in the NE SA area before making this one my new "home". It's not huge but bigger than most in the area. It's also regularly cleaned, which says something about the owner and/or management. It has all the equipment I use and need, to include a stairclimber, which is only in about 50% of other AFs in the NE SA area. That said, its free of excessive equipment straps, boxes, and clutter that frequently collect dust and fill up every corner in others AFs. As a traveller for work, I visit many others AFs across the country and this location is consistent with the size, quality equipment and facilities I expect. No complaints and much praise.

Avoid this crooked business at all cost…read more A) The gym itself is micro, and constantly out of order. Nobody racks anything here, and the management is too terrible to do it themselves. B) They collect "Gym Improvement Fees" and yet have made zero improvements since I've been here. There is probably still a hole in the matt below the squat rack to this date. C) They intentionally make it IMPOSSIBLE to leave your membership. I provided proof that I had moved more than 50 miles away from a gym. They made me turn in a copy of a lease. Yet, they STILL wanted to charge me for the next month, PLUS cancellation fee. An extra $80 to leave a gym I don't even have access to. Not to mention, their sly "bi-weekly" language charged me 3 times in December. Gyms like this one are the reason FTC laws had to be put in place for fair and easy options to leave gyms. Please protect your mental sanity and avoid this gym!

I figured it be more for kids but seemed more adults than children. My daughter and I tried the workout machines after waiting to use them. While working out we had this creepy old man just stare the whole time. He was sitting at the tables right in front of work out machines. Not sure if he was medicated or what but made my 13 year old uncomfortable. We moved to the other side where the weights are for a few minutes but I can still tell it was bothering her so we left. Only went ONE day and never came back. It took me days trying to locate where to cancel membership online only to finally call days before months over for them to tell me I have to go in person to do it. Finally got the chance to go after being busy at work and it's the end of the month and they tell me it takes 30 days to cancel mind you I didn't even have a full month of membership to cancel. I sign the paperwork and turn in my membership keycards. Mind you didn't realize I could still use them for another month until when Racheal from the local YMCA reaches out with wanting more information on why my child felt uncomfortable. Explained the situation of what happened. She informed me someone was going to reach out to me and nothing. I "should" have access for this month to go but why would I return to a place my child felt uncomfortable!!

I have been a member nearly a year and was told that I cannot bring my 14 year old son in and help introduce him to the fitness lifestyle without purchasing a membership for him. Over the last few months since you let go of Keon at the Pat Booker location I have seen a huge down grade in customer service, professionalism and over positive gym environment. Everyone other than Aaron are absolutely horrible at greeting people, making them feel welcome and actually caring for people. Multiple times people are on their phones as I walk in and don't even acknowledge that customers are coming in. Yall really need to do better. Front staff is trash, called to talk to the manager about cancelation policy and they hung up on me.
