This is my second time at Il Mercato and it was perfect yet again. Four of us ventured here, post…read morefestival, to celebrate our last night in Portugal. My first time here we sat outside but decided to enjoy the air con and sat inside this time around. It gives old world Italy with cured meats, pasta, wine and olives all over the restaurant.
We order couverts - 50g of prosciutto, tomato caprese salad and the insalata mixta. For the mains we got the lobster pasta, two mushroom pastas (one with shaved black truffle), and the carbonara. All were absolutely divine with the pasta being perfectly al dente as well as the lobster being perfectly cooked.
And i dont know how they do it but the wines in the Duoro region are simply perfection.
Between the food and wine, Portugal will continue to see me again and again!
