Kanika is an extremely talented designer, and I can't recommend her enough!…read more We bought a house in March 2020 - signed the contract days before covid stay at home orders. My husband and I then spent two years working from home together in our front room (we call it the study now) without any rhyme or reason, just putting our desks wherever they fit, because it all happened so quickly. It was awkward and ugly, cords and monitors everywhere, and not a great look for people walking in our front door. The whole time, I was thinking, "when this is done and at least one of us goes back to the office, I want to make this room into a nice space to read and relax, and also to WFH when I have to." That's where Kanika comes in. I tried changing the place up on my own, but every choice I made seemed to make my space uglier and more awkward. It was time to hire a professional. That decision was worth every penny. In the end, my project turned out to be slightly bigger than just one room. I enlisted Kanika's help in choosing flooring, baseboards and paint for the whole house, furniture for my entire downstairs (we were still using the old living room furniture left by the previous owners), and light fixtures throughout. She was easy to work with and understood immediately what I was going for. My study is a real showstopper now - the walls are this deep blue color that looks amazing, she designed a gorgeous custom bookshelf that makes perfect use of the space, and she picked a couch that is the perfect size, just the right color, and so comfortable. And we still managed to get a desk in there for those WFH days. Literally just the other day, I was on a Zoom with someone and thought "this room behind me is so pretty, it looks like a fake background." But it's real, and in my house! And it wouldn't have happened without Kanika. The paint color she helped me pick for my bedroom is something I never would have chosen on my own, but I still regularly think about how nice it looks whenever I go in there. Same with the color of the living room couch, I'd never have found it on my own, but now that I have it, I love it. She knows her stuff. Kanika's husband Adi runs the business side of things. He managed the project, hiring contractors and keeping everything on schedule. The work was done on time, and he kept us in the loop, patiently answering any concerns or questions. And, no shenanigans with the final cost. Really, hiring Kanika Design was a great decision for us.

We had a rough idea of what we wanted to do in terms of adding an island and enlarging out the kitchen space. They were able to step in with their expertise and distill our ideas into a design that truly modernized our kitchen space.  With their guidance we flipped the island 90 degrees, knocked down the cabinets separating the dining room and kitchen to create an open concept space that was much more modern and updated.  Tracy followed through on every single action item, ensured everything was ordered and that all of our upgraded items (lamps, backslash, counters, wall paint) worked together in one cohesive design.  She really took the guess work out, got measurements, came every week to check on the project progress, making regular check ins with our contractor. The color palette was her recommendation as well. We appreciated that she followed up on the color choice the day after to see it live and make sure we felt comfortable with the choice.  She was a hands on project manager and detail orientated to boot. Our contractor. Jeff, was also a preferred partner with Kitchen Inspiration. Jeff and his crew were so pleasant and professional.  They kept a prompt daily schedule (10-7:30pm). We appreciated the consistency. As well, at the end of a day of construction, they cleaned up the debris and kept the construction zone as tidy as possible.  We didn't think a home upgrade project could go so smoothly - but the Kitchen Inspiration team definitely delivered above and beyond our expectations. Thank you!

Maureen is absolutely exceptional -- we could not have found a better designer for our renovation…read more We worked with her on two bathrooms (guest and primary) as well as our primary bedroom, with all construction happening while we were away traveling, and the experience could not have been smoother. We loved partnering with Maureen on the design. She made the entire process feel seamless and stress-free, helping us bring our vision to life while elevating it in ways we couldn't have done on our own. For every decision, whether it was shower tiles or cabinetry wood, she presented us with a thoughtfully curated set of options, saving us from hours of researching online and in-store. She also provided invaluable guidance on where to invest and where to be more cost-efficient, all without ever compromising on quality. I also cannot emphasize enough how incredible Maureen's eye for design is along with her ability to tailor her recommendations and the design to your personal style and goals. During the renovation, we were traveling internationally and so Maureen managed the overall project, sharing regular updates and photos. We're incredibly grateful we trusted Maureen with our home and are thrilled (though not surprised) that the end result was perfect and exceeded all expectations. We recommend her without hesitation and would absolutely work with her again.

Often times, designers have the same "look" for multiple projects. Not Maureen - I could tell she chose finishes based on her client's preferences. Our late 1970s home was in dire need of new floors, interior doors, and an updated stair banister. Maureen suggested an initial walkthrough to ensure she would be a good fit. From the moment she showed up, I enjoyed being in her presence. The brief suggestions she made were in line with my ideas, and I knew I had to work with her. Maureen was mindful of our budget. She would always ask my opinion prior to sourcing design choices, even after I communicated that I had full trust in her. It was true collaboration. Maureen consistently stayed on top of timelines and would keep me updated in a timely manner. We enjoyed working with Maureen so much that we decided to add on a master bath remodel. I now get to wake up every morning in the beauty of our new home. I'm certain that this vision would not happen if it weren't for Maureen's talent. For me, having someone design your home isn't just about their skill and creativity, it also includes how they made you feel through the process. It doesn't get any better than working with someone who is honest, trustworthy, reliable, and talented.

Liane was sub-contracted to design our home rebuild. Candidly, it took us a few meetings before we…read morecould truly start to jive. She asked us to provide example pictures of what we liked to help guide the first meeting but I think it would have been more helpful if she had pictures of different designs handy so she could help us discern our style (this would have saved some time in the beginning as we sorta confused style with color palette and it wound up leading us down the wrong path... farmhouse!) Once we understood that our style was Japanadi then things really started to come together quickly. She came with us to meet with finishing suppliers who were all excellent. We wound up deviating from some of her recommended suppliers which sometimes worked extremely well. For example, our choice, Kassa for kitchen, bathroom, foyer and laundry was transformative! Her recommendations Rubenstein, Bay Stone, and Bullnose were excellent! Our choice, FMD for windows was an absolute horror show! But, through all of it Liane was a trusted confidant who never lost her patience with us and helped with each supplier regardless of her own preference. The thing that truly sets Liane apart from the rest is her attention to detail. I know it sounds cliche in the world of design but she goes above and beyond to ensure that every millimeter is accounted for. This is extremely important to ensure a smooth building process since the builders need to be able to trust that they can follow the plans without winding up with a bunch of ill-fit materials that then either need to be modded or replaced. The results are testament to her talent and we could not be happier with our new home! Thanks Liane for a truly special place for my family to spend our best years!
