I recently discovered this place thanks to my wonderful husband.. can't believe he kept this secret from me for so long. I wanted some fresh delicious challah bread/ rolls so he suggested Yagel Bagel.. so I was in agreement and told him to get us there asap. Ambiance: As soon as we arrived, they had about 10 reserved parking spots just for us customers which I found super thoughtful and excellent. We walked in and to my surprise a blast of fresh scent of oven baked bread just hit me and I was blinded with the delicious scent of fresh baked goodies. It was oh so heavenly! Service: super friendly and quick! They make you pick a number at the front door and you wait your turn to get served. It's always busy but the staff is Fast and super attentive. They make sure to get you everything you want in a jiffy. They are always there to please and make you happy after every visit. Product: Wholesome and delicious.. I am amazed of the freshness. This bakery makes amazing homemade bread.. however, their name suggest they are a bagel shop but they don't make it in-house.. they re-sell St-Viateur and Fairmount bagels ahaha it's alright I totally prefer they're amazing Challah rolls anyway.. something about them makes me go back here all the time. I'm now a loyal customer and will totally be back here soon ! Mmmm deeelish totally recommend.

We ended up with two dozen frozen bagels, some rainbow cakes, and delicious tuna on bagel sandwiches for lunch! We had a lovely talk with Brent and his team. I noticed that there were a lot of fresh and frozen kosher foods for take-out. I wish I didn't live eight hours away!

I'm a tried and true, born and raised, New Yo-uh-k-uh. Like many Americans regarding American issues, I didn't even realize there were any other bagels that challenged the superiority of the OG NY bagel. Spoiler: there isn't. I had a bunch of Canadian friends in med school and one of them brought into my awareness the existence of a bagel that attempts to challenge NY bagels aristocracy. So we tried them. I made the critical error of placing nutrition above taste and I ordered a sesame with hummus. Tina bear ordered an everything with smoked salmon, a bagel sandwich that also includes a schmear of cream cheese, capers, and onions. The bagels are obviously smaller in size. The dough is more dense and has a slightly sweet flavor. It was enjoyable, as carb-laden bread usually is however I wasn't satisfied. Hummus was obviously a mistake. Tina says her bagel was "really good" however her testimony applies mostly to the sandwich itself, and less to the actual bagel, as those ingredients are overpowering. I'm glad Canadians have a bagel they truly enjoy but I would rather stick with what I know and love.

They do not hold as a circle anymore. When you try to cut them in half, they crumble. If you were lucky enough for them not crumbling upon cutting, they will upon biting into them. Sad to see this happening.

Bagels on Greene (with clearly more than the bagels that I admittedly didn't try) has a hodgepodge…read moreof menu items that feels as if every option was derived from a random ethnic cuisine generator. But given that the inhabitants of ethnically diverse Montréal bring together so many beautiful cutures, it ain't a bad thing.. and during my trip Bagels on Greene made me want to try out an eclectic assortment at this cafeteria-style, totally friendly eatery! What initially perked my interest was from their vegan Indian selection. Found myself eager to test out their Vegan Chicken Vindaloo, which they heated up for me from the prepared food fridge. (The range in Bagel on Greene's prepared food set warrants a further investigation if you live nearby.) Since it was something I've enjoyed all my life, I order their round, baked traditional Potato Knish... somewhat in size between the frozen Mini Knishes my mom always made as a side and the larger New York Lower East Side's Yonah Schimmel version. Of course, the Karnautzel long sausages caught my attention. I was expecting to get brown Deli mustard, but only Yellow and Dijon were available. Finally, two new for me Zero Sugar sodas to drink: 7up and Dr Pepper. Note - Other options available beyond a bagel/deli selection include: a small buffet tablet with other heated items, Spring Rolls, Spicy Potato & Vegetable Rolls, Cheese Rolls, non-traditional Knishes, Pakoras, cookies like Gingerbread Men. They also have meat dishes, if that's your thing. Opted to eat inside Bagels on Greene, although the covered outdoor tables looked great. My Vindaloo tasted great... the vegan chicken substitute did not make me miss the chicken!!! The Knish, topped with poppy seeds, was pretty good. The Karnautzel, less my thing, wasn't that bad too! Those Zero Sugar sodas... didn't miss the sugar either! All good! Bagels on Greene isn't a fancy place, but the reasonably priced, wide offering of tasty items should provide something of interest for a meal. While I can't speak about their bagels, it's a place I'd recommend checking out yourself, if that's your thing.
