First time visiting Chuy's for their green chili week, and I dug it. Very rarely do I frequent chains, but I feel this one is a step above the typical chain. The manager Brian was sweet enough to give us their "salsa tour" for our visit. It was super helpful for helping to decide which sauces to top my entree with! The waitress was awesome and kept our drinks/chips filled. I really enjoyed the pico that they bring out, which is made fresh daily. The margaritas were solid, and they run an extremely generously timed happy hour from 4-7p on weekdays that include $8 grande margaritas and a free nacho bar. The entree (I got a veggie combo plate with the boom boom sauce) was good, and a huge portion. I was told that chuys has no deep freezer and makes all food fresh. I also appreciate that you can see them making the tortillas fresh from the kitchen. Overall, the food is solid, the service is good, and the value here is killer. I will return! read more

I am judging this restaurant, and the Chuy's Franchise's ethics and morals. The food was good and the young waiter did an excellent job. The problem was Chuy's overt lack of care about exposing the clientele to COVID-19. We were seated by a hostess not wearing a mask (I was masked), our waiter was not wearing a mask, and as I watched the staff during our meal, none were wearing a mask. So I assume there was no mask wearing in the kitchen. As a Senior Citizen I became more and more concerned. I asked the waiter why no one was wearing a mask and he told me Chuy's didn't require anyone to wear masks. I asked about vaccines - not required. I asked about testing and got a big grin. So....... They were seating people, close contact indoors - in less than 6 feet distanced tables. Amazing!!! Please run to Chuy's and ask for Travis! We have been to the Chuy's in Hamburg with decent food and long wait times. Tonight was different. My daughter was hungry and wanted Mexican or Tex/Mex. This was our first time in the Nicholasville Road location. We were seated within 10 minutes. Refills came without prompt. I had trouble deciding and the most awesome waiter came to the rescue with suggestions and sauce substitutions. My daughter ordered the Chicken Tacos Carbon. Amazing fajita peppers and marinated chicken. I had the steak burrito. Travis suggests to substitute out the Chile sauce and ask for boom boom sauce instead. If you like spice and queso, please try this! The creamy jalapeño sauce is amazing with chips. We loved this place so much we ordered the tres leche cake for desert. Amazing, sweet, & moist. Chuy's is one of our favorite Tex Mex restaurants to eat in Lexington Kentucky. We love to eat here on Monday's and we sit on the bar side of the restaurant. They have a chip and salsa bar with sides such as hamburger meat, refried beans, queso, and salsa. We sometimes get the Monday burrito special. My husband ordered that today and I had a bite it was rather tasty. It had pork inside that was roast like with a green sauce and rice. My son and I had the regular side salads which are 5.29. We take our salads and put the toppings from the chip bar and have a really tasty taco salad that is very filling. We love to make a great salad which is awesome and sometimes we can even split one and ask for a extra salsa bowl. The burrito was called a macho burrito. We had great service from Emily that put it to a 5 star rating! read more

I had my first dance with Chuy's last weekend. It was short and sweet. Or should I say, spicy? I was surprised to walk in and find some kind of casual diner atmosphere, which was not what I had expected. Thankfully, a casual atmosphere is more comfortable for me, so I liked it. We were promptly handed menus and chips and salsa (pico de gallo). Our table requested some creamy jalapeno sauce with the chips too, and the waitress brought us several small dip bowls of it. Both sauces were sooooo good! And the chips were delicious. YUM. Some of the best I've ever had. For dinner, I ordered the veggie enchilada (topped with the mildest sauce) with a side of Mexican rice and churro beans (I don't like refried beans). Apparently, I don't like churro beans either. Oh well. As for everything else on my plate, I devoured it as if I hadn't eaten in days. Soooo good. The veggie enchilada WAS delicious, however; the vegetables were kind of large and chunky... not chopped up very small. For me, that was kind of odd. Regardless, my stomach was still happy. The Mexican rice, however, was too spicy and kind of threw me off. It was still good, but not as mild as I expected. When I finished my meal, I was fanning my mouth and taking large sips of water. So spicy (for being of the milder flavors! But so good! Prices are reasonable, and based on my experience plus the people at our table, food here can be hit or miss. I'd come here again but opt out of the rice and beans and just get some tacos or something. Or maybe just only chips and salsa. I can survive on chips and salsa. Yep. read more

I only come here for a couple reasons. 1. Happy hour with free nacho bar. The selection of frozen margaritas is pretty good and the happy hour prices are decent. Plus, there is the free nacho bar which includes: chips, salsa, cheese dip, bean dip, and meat. 2. Tres leches cake. While not the most authentic I've ever had, it is still really tasty. 3. Creamy jalapeño dip. This stuff is like a their version of ranch, but again tastier. They will bring it out with your chips and salsa if you ask. My husband and I love going to Chuy's anytime between 4-7 on week nights for the free truck bar! Soooo delicious! I've always said that it didn't matter how bad the Mexican food was, I would still eat it. I was proven wrong today. There are multiple Chuys locations around, and their bright colors signs attracted me. I ordered the Elvis platter which is their largest option, and it aloud me to try multiple items. The refried beans were the best item on the plate. The queso was different than what I am used to, but I thought it was good. The crunchy taco was lacking any form of seasoning, but it was edible. The rest of the plate was horrible. The chicken in the enchilada had no seasoning of any type. The Verde sauce was sub par, and the other two sauces were unedible. One of the sauces that the cheese enchilada was drenched in tasted like homel chili. The service was good, but I can't imagine why anyone would choose this over a traditional Mexican restaurant. read more

I actually went to the restaurant because I saw the advertisements on the television. The food was absolutely delicious and I loved it, the service was nice, and even though I ordered a burger and fries the cheese on the burger was melted the perfect amount, and the fries were seasoned perfectly. I went there with my wife earlier this afternoon for lunch. We enjoyed our food, and ended up taking the rest to go, along with another order of chips and queso. Only to come home tonight, and find out there was a DEAD BUG in my queso. Thats right, there was a dead cockroarch in my queso. Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT eat here! If it happened to me today, there's no telling how many cockroaches made it into other people's food today. I'm purposefully not leaving any contact info, because I do not want Chuy's to reach out and "try to make it right". Chuy's is my parents favorite restaurant so we tend to go whenever they come into town. They have an awesome happy hour (4 pm to 7 pm M-F) with a free!!!! nacho bar that has nacho cheese, taco meat, and chips. When it's not happy hour, they have a creamy jalapeño dip that they serve with every meal. They have a great selection of both your classic Mexican dishes as well as some other more creative and modern takes on Mexican food. I'd recommend getting the "boom boom sauce" on whatever you get. The inside of the restaurant is decorated with tons of neat dog photos and I think you can even bring a photo of your own dog that they'll hang on the wall read more

After hearing my supervisor rave so much about Chuy's we finally made a stop after a long afternoon at the mall. We were great by a nice hostess who got our party of 6 seated immediately. Being our first time here we honestly didn't know what to expect. Out came three bowls of salsa and 3 baskets of chips accompanies with the creamy Jalapeño dip. Our waitress was super energetic and eager to answer any questions we had. After telling her this was our first trip, she brought samples of the margaritas and the kings Punch before deciding on a beverage from the bar. She also brought us a sample of all the different sauces for everyone to try. I had the Kings Punch which was absolutely fantastic and my fiancé had the Madelo Amber. The only downfall is they don't have draft beers and I thought for sure they would have at least one local brew available. After a good review of the menu we finally made a decision and ordered. The waitress was very helpful in making our ordering easy and made my daughters meal cheaper in the way it was ordered. Overall the food and atmosphere was great. Tex-Mex in Lex. I had the fajitas for one, more than I could eat. The beef was tender and tasty, the chicken was juicy. Served with a generous set of the usual sides. They offer a variety of salsas made fresh in house. That also serve almost every flavor of margarita you could want, four of which - - peach, lime, strawberry and blackberry - - are in "slurpee" style dispensers. I visited this Chuys for the second time today. It's a nice location with generally nice staff. The hostess is a sweetheart. She's the young lady with dark hair. She tries her absolute hardest and that's all I can ask! The waitress I had today was great. She told me how to make my order even better than I had planned and boy she was right! It's turned out to be super awesome!!! I had nachos with their queso instead of regular shredded cheese and fajita steak! Holy smokes it was delicious! The only thing that turned me off on my visit was seeing another hostess (not the one I mentioned before, this one has blonde hair and is fairly attractive) get a "sample" of the strawberry margarita. Covid review only. I ordered the taco kit online for curbside pick up when I got off work. Ordering online was easy and payment was easy as well. I ordered the taco kit. Ordered half and half soft and hard shell tacos with beef to fill. Showed up at my appropriate time and gave them a call. A big bag of food came out. I loaded up and headed home. Got home and up packed. There was a lot! My only thing was I got only hard shell tacos, then I noticed I didn't get lettuce, tomato and cheese. I texted the store back and was supposed to call the store manager. Really wasn't worth complying about. Just a better double check before sending. Everything else was very good! Was really looking forward to eating here. I was craving tacos and read that they cook their food fresh every day, so was expecting some awesome food. In my opinion, the hard shell tacos I ordered was less than impressive. The shells were cold and tasted like store bought. The taco meat was bland and dry. The beans and rice were okay. The best part of the meal was the queso and chips. The chips were warm, thin and crispy, and tasted like they were just made. The queso cheesy, warm, and tasty. The salsa was extremely spicy so asked for a milder salsa and was brought something that tasted like bbq sauce. The white jalapeño sauce was very good and our waiter was super efficient. So my search continues for a GOOD Mexican restaurant. PS- I will go back and give them another try read more

Visited this restaurant for the first time this past weekend and man was I impressed! Food- They off all your traditional Mexican food such as burritos, tacos and enchiladas. I went with the chicken fajitas which were really good. The fajitas come with nice fresh lettuce, pico cheese, guac and sour cream. The best thing to me was how fresh and soft the tortilla was, it was probley the best tortilla I have been served at a restaurant. You can even see the lady making them when you walk in. Service- The food was good but what stood out most was the service. I came in around lunch time on a Sunday and the place was busy but not too packed. Since this was my first time dining at a chuy's we asked what dishes the server recommend. She explained a few but also explained all the sauces they offer. To go above and beyond she brought out every single Sauce they offer and sat down with us to explain each one. For a second I was like man is this a 5 star dinning experience because of how nice she was to take the time to not only explain all the options but also let us taste them. Went here twice for yelp elite week (once with my own +1 and once as a friend's +1). I will start this off by saying both times, the food was ready quick, hot and delicious! However, the service varied a lot. When I went on Friday night with my friend, our server was fabulous. She gave us the sauce tour and explained all entrees on the green chile menu. She was personable and the manager checked in on us to make sure everything was to our liking. I attended again tonight with a friend and had talked up my experience from Friday. Tonight however, there was no sauce tour and no explanation of the menu. The server did add in a dessert, but was much more focused on a large party next to us.
