The food here to me is nothing more than big chain Mexican and not good Mexican at that. I'm mean honestly why go here where there are so many other good Mexican restaurants here in town. None of them are close to the mall as this one if you have to have Mexican but much better choices. The food left me and my GI tract not feeling so well. I asked for no peppers due to an allergy but there were some peppers on it anyway. Sometimes I can handle a few peppers in my food but not this time. Not a fan. Food came out over cooked and service was very slow. We had to wait for refills for 10-15 minutes. The server wasnt very friendly & didnt have her head together with everything. Chuy's is my favorite Tex-Mex chain. It's comfortable, I've always had good service at this location, and you usually don't have to wait for a table longer than about 15", even on a Sunday afternoon. They can quickly accommodate large parties with usually no trouble at all. Everything is fresh. The salsa is great and has some heat to it, but if I had to choose only one dip for their super thin and crispy chips, I'd take the creamy jalapeño dip. It's delicious! Prices are good, and they have a convenient curb side pick up for take home orders. read more

After waiting 10 mins to have someone approach me to get my drink order I asked for a manager. Manager apologized and took my order. I ordered the Chuychanga again but with Tex-Mex. Food has not been a disappointment here. After eating and enjoying my dish i paid and went to leave. When i reached the door i said very loudly so they could hear " Have a nice day" but never received a response. Consistently good! I've been to this chain in several cities and this particular location several times and it continues to be a favorite when I'm craving Tex-mex. The chips and creamy jalapeño sauce are so tasty I would come for them alone. Other favorites include the fajitas and chick a chicka boom boom enchiladas. Today makes my third visit to Chuy's. None of these visits have given much reason to elevate this option as the "go to" Mexican place in Lexington. The fare here is okay but it doesn't stand out compared to other Lexington options for this cuisine. The location near the Nicholasville Road thoroughfare doesn't recommend it. As for ambiance, there is good news and there is bad news. The bad news is the music is so loud as to make it difficult to hear the person sitting next to you. The good news is it's not mariachi music, but rather classic rock. Our server, Adam, was pleasant enough, so I'm happy to report that. I was confused that they seated a party of two at a round table set for six, but don't know that this would be a basis for criticism. read more

This was our fist visit here. The chips that they bring out, oh and when you are close to empty they bring out another shovel full, are homemade, light and delicious. They have the best chips around. So light and crispy. They have a great ranch and jalapeño dip and I don't care for jalapeños. Their taco salad is huge and enough for two. They usually have a dip bar on certain nights. Fajitas are awesome! Horrible service and probably some of the worst nachos I've ever seen! Everything looked straight out of a can. The creamy jalapeño dip was just green ranch (we hate ranch dressing). The server did take the food off our bill when we asked for the check right after they brought the plate out so at least we didn't have to pay for that mess. Let me just start by saying I could live on Chuy's Creamy Jalapeno sauce! I had never been to Chuy's before this trip, but I'm confident I'll be back to this Lexington gem. Our server was an absolute sweetheart and made sure neither our chips nor drinks got close to empty, the service was super quick despite the restaurant being busy, & most importantly the food was delicious. I have to preface my review by saying I would give a 5 for food and a 1 for service. Our party of 7 were seated in the bar and our server was horrible. She wouldn't get each of our drink orders, instead she brought drinks one by one and would disappear before you could place an order. Two guys in our party ordered beers twice and 25 minutes later had to go to the bar to get a beer. On other visits the service was great and the servers actually took the time to go over the sauces if there were people that were new to Chuy's. Based upon the lack of service, we knew to double check our checks. Of course two checks were wrong and it took our server over 30 minutes to correct. It was a horrible experience and ruined my friend's 50th Birthday celebration. Needless to say, we won't be back to Chuy's. read more

This is a fun place to come for Happy Hour largely thanks to their complimentary nacho bar. Their Happy Hour drink specials are slightly higher than at other Mexican restaurants ($4.75 for the smallest size of margarita), so if you aren't going to take advantage of the nacho bar, it might not be your best option, but who turns down free nachos? I did really like their chips and was pleasantly surprised by the flavor and heat of their salsa. Service is good, and the environment is a bit much for my taste, but they are clear in their identity so you certainly know what to expect in that regard. I haven't eaten from their regular menu, but have looked through it and it seemed to have a lot of options at pretty typical prices for this type of food (around $12 for many entrees). I'll probably be back for Happy Hour, but don't know that I would seek it out for dinner. read more

Chuys is so fun! It isn't like real deal Mexican food but it works as Tex Mex. the decorations inside are super cute- I love the room with hubcaps on the ceiling. The Elvis aspect is also cute. I also love the menu- burritos are said to be "as big as your face". The staff wear awesome teeshirts where a taco might be a stegosaurus or some other cute pop culture reference. The food is good, the chips are fresh and they have this good creamy jalapeño dip you can have as well as salsa- it isn't too spicy because I'm not a spice person. I typically get the chuychanga which is their chimichanga. They also have different sauces/salsa options to have on your food. This place has great food, atmosphere, and service. read more

Been to Chuys a number of times. Decent Mexican, inexpensive food. Tonight we had the beef enchiladas and Chicken Carbon. Seated promptly. Served Chips and Salsa quickly. Chips were fresh and probably the best of the Local Mexican choices. Queso was good. Our entrees were slow coming out. Both were just ok. Decent taste and large portions. This is the best tex-mex this side of Big Spring, Texas, and yes there is such a place. I was stationed at the air force base there, and since these folks home is in Texas, it reminds me of our time there. The encheladas are great, either with beef, chicken, or one of each!
