Before discovering Churro Addict, I was settling for Taco Bell's cinnamon twists or the occasional cold, sad amusement‑park churro. My husband and I tried Churro Addict last week and the churros were pillowy and chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The perfect consistency and exactly how a churro should be. The service was great and the employee that took our order gave us some background on the churro making process. She said that the churro dough is made every morning and they cook the churros twice to get that perfect churro consistency. The truck vibes are cool, the truck has a graffiti theme to it. Some things to note: There are no tables or chairs to sit and eat your churros at. Since this is a traveling food truck, you order and eat standing up or eat in your car. We had not problem with that because the churros didn't even make it on the walk back to the car. We ordered the churro sundae and enjoyed the extensive toppings list they offer. Just saw the truck at Dukes in La Mesa and thought why not. So glad we did . First off these are the best F' ing churros I've ever had but even more important was the great service and genuine hospitality. I had high hopes for these churros! Disneyland sized hopes! And they delivered!! Got a chance to try churro addicts at the Civita food truck Tuesdays. They have a few food trucks line up in the culdesac in the parking lot with live music going in the nearby field. When I stepped up to the truck, I was immediately greeted with such friendly service. This must also be a family affair because there was a younger kid who was delivering the ready churros. He was extremely polite and I love seeing our youth getting opportunities to grow their leadership in real ways! Family-owned, Crystal gives a great run down of their selection. The churros sucios (dirty churros - see Duolingo pays off!) have all sorts of drizzles, though the go-to is Nutella and Lechera (condensed milk). Yes, it's a food truck parallel parked in front of a CVS parking lot! A friend and I decided to come after dinner. There was no one when we arrived, the person was very sweet and answered all of the questions we had as it was our first time. We decided to share the 6 churro sundae with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and our choice to unlimited drizzles. It's an extra cost for drizzle on the side. So we combined all of our drizzles: we did Lechero, Peanut Butter, Cheesecake, Mango. I love me some churros, and sometimes, churros are overly sweet and only a few can be consumed at once. These churros were not too overly sweet, so we literally devoured our order! The churros were perfect! They were thin, not too doughy, crispy, and so so good! I happened to find them by chance at a brewery next to a taco truck. I passed them, but the smell was luring me back. After a beer or two, my stomach gave in and I went to try and order, only to find out I missed them by a few minutes!!
