When I ordered the burger it came out to my table about 4 minutes later. Not sure how they can pull this off for a patty that's 1/2 lb. At home it takes me at least 8 minutes. I went with the Texan specialty burger. This burger wasn't that good and was one that tasted best upon first bite, then progressively got worse as you eat more of it. I didn't finish it and eventually peeled off a lot of ingredients and bun by the end. They have a nice atmosphere, but I would try another menu item next time. Surprisingly this is one of 2 Irish bars at the waterway, with the other one only 1 block away. A friend told me although Mahoney's isn't located directly on the waterway, it has better food. When I called ahead they indicated the music would start at 9pm, but when arriving around 8, it was going already to my surprise. I tried the cottage pie and the fish and chips. I felt both of these were fairly average dishes, but the portion sizes are pretty large. The fries that come with the fish are really nothing special but are somewhat tasty when hot. The cheese on the cottage (shepherd's) pie is mostly white and blends into the mashed potatoes. I thought the ground beef filling was average at best. Seating In the bar / restaurant seems to be ample as there are back areas to the right of the stage along waterway avenue as well as back areas along the side street (Waterway Sq Pl). However, the back areas along the side street do not have a view of the stage. One item to note, the list of draft beers on the menu are just possible taps they could have, but ask your waiter for the current ones. The waiter was young but very helpful and came to check on the table several times.
