The point of the update is that two colleagues and me went to use the vouchers from previous visits. I held 9 vouchers. 6 vouchers gives £12 of the bill. No problem. I mentioned that the other 3 expired 30/11/14. Not another problem, swapped for 3 that expire November 2015. Plus 2 more for the meals that had been paid for.... So, 5 new vouchers.... That's service..... and guarantees my return. 27/5/14 OK. They get their star back. Wife loved the place. The kids enjoyed their food too. Service was good. Had a slight problem getting to the place by taxi, as the driver didn't have the post code. I tried to ring the restaurant on the number they rang me back on earlier in the day. No answer. Eventually got to the place. BUT - IS THEIR PHONE FOR OUTGOING CALLS ONLY? OTHERWISE, ANSWER THE FLIPPING PHONE. AMAZING!!! As far as I remember this place has won pub food…read moreof the year ever year since Ive lived in the area. Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

We had 2 small children with us and sometimes these sort of establishments do not really appreciate them being there, this could not be said of the Grove staff who were extremely accommodating. They provided pens and colouring books and even brought the kids meals out first so they could have a head start on the adults. The adults and the older child had starter and a Sunday lunch main course. My starter was the salad and garlic mushrooms which were absolutely delicious. The main course was huge and by the end of the meal I was extremely full (Not bad for £11.99). Cant comment on the sweets as I couldn't manage one!! We finished the meal with nice pots of tea and coffees. Total bill came to £120 which is not bad for 9 people for two meals, drinks and teas and coffees. Would definately go back again and no doubt will do.

I arrived here around 3:30 PM and was greeted in the lobby by one of the owners, who cheerfully showed me to my room and explained hotel policies. Room 9, while small, was perfect for my needs as a single traveler. The room was bright, the bed comfortable, and enough power outlets were provided for my things. The following morning, I woke up to an excellent English breakfast in the hotel pub. One of the other owners greeted me as I walked downstairs in the morning and took my breakfast order. A few minutes later, bacon, hash browns, toast, and tea were sitting in front of me, easily the best free hotel breakfast I have ever had. This even beat out the Embassy Suites breakfast. There aren't many times I've had a hotel room with better value than this. The Booking.com rate could have been paid with 15 British coins and many places would have charged at least 4 of those for a breakfast like was offered. If I'm back in the Telford area, I don't know why I would stay anywhere other than the White Horse.

Arrived Friday night pub was busy but we were checked in pretty quickly and shown to our room. Room was lovely, spotless decent sized bathroom with a lovely shower. Location wise if you like walking it's fantastic with all of the attractions within easy reach with the added bonus of a couple of other lovely pubs (inc their sister pub The Half Moon Inn) on the way. Food was good and cooked fresh would definitely come back again.
